I was wondering if it is usual for the same show to be on a cruise for years and years - we last went on the Anthem of the Seas 8 years ago and am surprised to see the 'We will Rock you' is still the main show after all this time?

Yes, not unusual.

Typically, and in particular with the Broadway based shows, as I was told the main production shows last at least through each scheduled dry dock as that is when the opportunity to exchange show sets is best available.

And Spectra's Cabaret will stay on A nthem forever. Some shows are created for a particular ship.

And unfortunately, while the quality of the cast was outstanding, a few weeks ago when we were on the Oasis, people in the audience walked out due to boredom and confusion about the storyline.  Time to replace CATS with something more fun. 

 

Plus am not sure why a full length production needs to take place on a ship where there is so much to do.  .
