Considering alternatives to Oceania. Who should I be looking at?

Of that we are too aware since we are now on the Encore.  I have watched DW reject two offered wines, which is a very rare thing.

Good for her. I hope they found something what was to her liking.
I would have done the same.

2024. Six cruises.
2 Oceania…Vista, Marina.  We gave up R ships.

2 Viking

2 Windstar

excursions

While I was not a fan of Simply More, it did work for some itineraries. Oceania is ok

Viking includes one excursion in each port.  Usually short, often self guided. Optional excursions are expensive.

Windstar doesn’t include excursions. You can buy excursions at reasonable prices.  Often small groups and good content. They do great deck bbq and beach parties.

food

Oceania is excellent. specialty restaurants are outstanding. Best buffet

Viking food is good.  Mamsens is excellent.  Like restaurant, not specialties.

Windstar has amazing food.  Love it all.  Best room service.

entertainment

Oceania and Viking are mini mass market.   Both have variety of lecturers.

Windstar is unique.  Band in lounge at night.  Not much entertainment.

I would book any of them

Dates, length of cruise,Itinerary and fares make the differences.

waiting to see what happens when Oceania drops simply more.

The Restaurant that has formal nights and a somewhat stricter smart casual vibe on other nights.

Could you elaborate a smidge on that please. Is formal black tie or a nice jacket, dress shirt, tie and slacks. Stricter smart is that what O would like but doesn't enforce. Like Dockers and at least a collared, knit shirt, no tennis shoes? Thanks, sir.

Collared shirt is fine on most nights.  On the formal nights (about Once a week) a jacket is needed for formal nights unless you dine in the other venues.  Tie is never required although some wear on formal nights.

We are on Seabourn now and today is formal night. People in the Restaurant mostly wearing jackets or suits, didn’t see anyone in tuxedo. Some wear ties. In other venues very casual, even today. We are on a 12 night cruise and there is one formal night.
