We are not moving😂 we just slide in the ocean💙

It’s a beautiful day, around 25c and sunny ☀️ 

 

It’s a sea day, so it’s as much activity as you want😎

I asked Charlotte what she wanted to do…

She had one request, take a dip in the pool during the day. (That should be easy😎) 

We decided for a little session on a sun lounger after breakfast. 

 

Its captains club welcome toast today at 11.45. 

I introduced Charlotte to the world of Captains Club👌🏻

 

It was canapés, drinks, acrobatic show and top cruisers🥂

All according to the plan of a great party 🎉

 

 

Top cruisers are a couple from UK 🇬🇧 

41 cruises, 2900 something points. 

 

 

 

 

 

CD Kelly introduced the captains club representatives and concierge’s onboard. 

Next cruise had a word, new itinerary’s are rolling out from October… 

 

And last but not least, Captain Ioannis. 

We will have some fireworks tomorrow night in Santorini. 

 

All in all a well played captains club event🥂⚓️

Sounds like it waa  a great party.  I am always amazed how acrobats can do their routines on a ship at sea. even if it's smooth sailing !

Yepp…. You know where this goes😂

 

 

Charlotte had a walk in the buffet and aqua spa cafe around 13.00. (She needed to view her options for lunch🤭) She returned back to the sun lounger carrying a bowl of ice cream 🍨. 

She wanted buffet. It was Italian 🇮🇹 themed. 

But she said it was crowded, so I said we will wait a little bit longer. 

 

At 14.00 we went to the buffet, rush hour was starting to calm down. 

So I picked up my salad and fruit. Then I went outside to get a table on the terrace😎 No problem👌🏻

Charlotte took the round and picked up what she wanted.

 

 

Around 15.30 Miss Charlotte wanted to have a dip in the water. 

It was crowded out on the open pool deck. 

So we ended up inside. 

Charlotte really enjoyed the hot bubble bath and the pool. 

 

Now it’s time to get dressed to impress🤩  (evening chic night) 

 

Tonight’s plans are show, martini flair and dinner🥂😂🤭👍🏻

The show was not finished until 19.52 and CD Kelly needed to talk through tomorrow’s tender operation…

Well guess what… 

When we entered grand foyer she had already started to fill the staircase of officers🤭👍🏻 

 

Then it was straight over to the Martini flair🥂🤭🤪

Charlotte was cheering and paying attention to her new party tricks (she needs to practice at home😂🤭) 

They are in fast track mode tonight🤪🤭😂😂

 

Then we walked over to the dreaded line for dinner…. 

Beeper tonight again🤪 (fingers crossed for better service and more connection tonight) 

 

After a 30-minute wait…. Our beeper danced and vibrated….

 

We revived a table all the way aft.

We went for trevisio salad, salmon and steak Diane. 

 

 

Service was in many ways better than yesterday. But it’s the ultimate feeling of headless chicken run🤪🤪🤪🤪

I’m really not happy, if this is what my time dining experience is for everyone…..

 

We said our orders to the main waiter and we said clearly and it was confirmed, we would like a glass of white wine for our meal….

Well, the sommelier never touched our table. He was running around the entire restaurant🤪🫣

Really not a good way to introduce Charlotte to cruising….

 

Today’s dessert

 

Charlotte had crème brûlée and I had my favourite, after eight ice cream 🍨 

 

 

We had a little stop by Irwin on the way out…

We needed to have 2 words about the dining experience… it’s far under par of 10/10. 

Irwin will try to accommodate us in deck 5. It will be a sharing table if it’s space.

Terrace was empty and not cold for the Vikings😂😂😂😂

 

 

The girls are doing shore excursion Independent exploration Oia on your own. (I booked it during cyber Monday sale 50% off, so a good deal) 

 

We are ready for a great day out😎💙🇬🇷

Service sounds awful in the MDR and having a drinks package and not being able to get a glass of wine with dinner totally unacceptable😡.  Maybe a word with the Food and Beverage Director. I hope the rest of your dinner experiences improves. Love following your travels

Our group was one of the 3 first called to the tender. So we left down to tender deck 08.00. 

We arrived at the industrial port 08.25 and boarded our bus to Oia. 

It was a full group of 40guests. 

 

 

We have Miray cruises her and Carnival Legend. 

 

The guide talked non-stop to Oia. We arrived the parking area at 09.10. All onboard/departure time to Fira 11.35. 

We were not the first group arriving…

So it was a walking line from the parking lot to the town square in Oia🤪🇬🇷🤭

 

 

 

 

We right and walked the furthest you can go in Oia to get rid of the worst crowd. And walked back. (You do get a nice view of the blue domes💙💙💙;) 

It’s crazy 🤪 crowed when all tours arrive between 09.00-30😂. 

But I do get better after awhile when people move around👍🏻

We had a coffee and juice before we returned down to the bus parking. 

 

 

At 11.35 our guide started the process of finding “lost” people in our tour. 

They were leaving the tour but didn’t tell the guide🫠 

So at 11.50 we left for Fira. 

 

We arrived at Fira 12.25. 

We left the guide and went for a stroll. 

 

 

 

 

Charlotte wanted to find a souvenir of Santorini. 

She found a seahorse in glass in a glassblowing shop👌🏻🇬🇷 (if you want something special from Santorini, it’s several art/ceramics shops that are one of a kind) They are located in the outskirts of Fira👌🏻 

After looking in the “ordinary” shops and enjoying the view, Charlotte decided that she was “finished” for the day. 

So we went to the cabel car…. What’s wrong???

It’s a super short line🤭🤣👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻

So only 15.minutes in line. We arrived in line 13.45. Usually the line starts to grow from 13.00 and onward until 16/17 ish. 

 

After arriving in old port Fira we went for a walk on the pier. 

 

Charlotte wanted gelato and we had a stop for that before we took the tender back.

Thank you so much for posting your trip!  As you end your cruise I will be boarding!  Very excited.

 

Wondering if Celebrity has a white party for your cruise? According to my celebrity app every night is smart casual.  I assume that's wrong.  

 

Sorry to hear that your dinner service wasn't good.  I'll be traveling with a group of people and have a set dining time. I don't ask for much, just decent food and service is fine.

We did that same tour in Santorini and enjoyed it. No line for the cable car. It was wonderful!

Honestly my cruise first the sommelier was MIA. It was so bad the waiter had to actually get wine for me.

One night they never came over at all, then the next night it was a different person who actually did serve me but then following went back to the original who again was too busy with other tables the waiter had to get wine for me.

Well, I was late to this party, but all caught up now!  @Norwaylady, thank you for providing some great reading and visuals.  I have been ill with severe ringing in the ears like someone turned up the volume to high, along with a buzzing like a swarm of bees.  However, reading about you and Charlotte is helping me concentrate on your words and not so much of the noise in my ears.  Your light-hearted descriptions and commentary are just what I needed.🥰  Kudos on a short line for the funicular!

Just back from an Eclipse Canada cruise and I find a NorwayLady report - so glad to see this!  Our first night in the dining room was so bad that we went to Ocean View the next two nights.  We did finish the cruise off by dining in the dining room and the experience improved a little.  Looking forward to reading your adventures!

Tonight’s show is broken strings.

Production show. 

I have seen it several times and it’s not my favourite.

But Charlotte wanted to go🥰

So I sent her of to the show and I went upstairs to catch the sunset🇬🇷💙⚓️ (out cabin is on the wrong side🫣😂 Hey 👋🏻 captain Ioannis, can you turn the ship?) 

 

I went upstairs and set up the camera. It was not just me lurking around for this🤭👍🏻

Really loves how someone sees a photo thing and just goes straight in front of it and everyone else is standing a metre away… 

Many meters of rail available but this fellow passenger just wanted to stand just there…🤣🤪😂👍🏻 Jepp… 3 world problems🤭

 

And the best, it’s a celebration on Santorini today, so it’s fireworks in caldera🎉🎉🎉

(So I’m claiming my spot by the rail😂😂😂) 

Captain said some time between 19.30-20.30. 

It needs to be dark enough👍🏻

 

On our door upon returning onboard it was a table assignment for second seating 20.30. 

I’m very happy for this💙 thank you Irwin👌🏻

Fingers crossed thing will be better🤞🏻🤞🏻🤞🏻

 

Charlotte had a great time at Broken Strings production show🩷

Captain Ioannis came on the PA system 19.55, fireworks in short time👍🏻🇬🇷💙

 

Charlotte arrived from the theatre 🎭 

And waited and waited and waited and waited…. (You get the picture🫣) 

A decent full deck 11 waiting patiently for fireworks…. 

At 20.35 we decided it was time to go for dinner.

If the fireworks arrive… well, we tried at least🫠😵‍💫🤩🤪🤣

 

We have received a sharing table for 8 on deck 5. 

We were the only guests tonight. 

It stated well and service is much more elegant and elevated compared to the other nights👍🏻

 

At 21.15 the firework finally appeared! 

We saw it from our table🤩 (it was a half Greek Gouvernements budget up in smoke🤣🤭😂🤣) 

 

Tonight’s menu;

 

We had onion 🧅 soup, garden salad and seafood orzo. 

 

 

 

Tonight’s dessert:

 

Oh… Lava cake it is👍🏻😋😋😋

 

Charlotte loved the lava cake plate. She asked if the ice cream would come in the buffet ice cream😋😋😋

 

Then it was off to bed. 🛌
