OV Celebrity Millennium cabin 7006 or 3112?

I'm looking at booking an OV for a Japan cruise and have the option of forwarad deck 7 starboard or port, and some options on deck 3 mid/aft starboard.  Are there any issues (noise, privacy, etc) of which I need to be concerned? I believe that 3112 has a larger porthole but I'm not even sure about that.

I've searched the boards (and google) and although I found reviews for 3112, I didn't find any reviews of OV cabins port or starboard on deck 7.  The only deck 7 OV reviews I saw were for the forward facing cabins. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

To me the choice would primarily be based on whether or not there is any sensitivity to sea sickness as the deck 7 staterooms are higher and furthest forward, which has them most susceptible to wave motion with the ship as it moves forward.  The deck 3 stateroom based on its lower and more mid ship location would mitigate that better.

As to noise, I don't have any direct experience, but the deck 3 location has the ladies restroom next to it and the promenade deck above it whereas the deck 7 location has passenger staterooms below and officers staterooms above.  That location would potentially have less risk of noise IMO.

Personally, since sea conditions don't affect me, I would take the deck 7 location as the view would be higher off the water and any potential for noise would be less, which would be preferable to me.  JMO.

I would go for deck 3.  I stayed in 3114 on one of the M-class ships.  The location was very quiet and very convenient.  These cabins are newer and prior to be converted to cabins, this area was part of the old conference rooms on the ship so they have huge round windows, almost floor to ceiling.  I know there are some videos out there of these cabins on youtube.

3112 is as good as an Oceanview stateroom gets. The rooms were installed in a refit, so the windows are massive in comparison. The normal oceanview room windows are a round, eye-level window. The retrofit staterooms feature a giant round window that runs from about 20 inches above the floor level to above ceiling height. We've stayed in that strip of rooms on the Millennium in Japan, and would again in a second.

We also stayed specifically in 3112 on the Infinity, and although the room wasn't refurbed, the giant window was still there. There is also zero noise from the restroom, and almost no lobby noise. If anything, there were occasionally people congregating at the group tour tables (i.e. Collette groups) that are around the corner from the room. From our experience this was sporadic and had absolutely no impact on use of the room.

If looking out the window is important, the cabins on deck 3 in the 3112 area have the beds on the side wall, and a chair by the window.  Those on deck 7 have the head of the bed under the window, so you would have to crawl across the bed to see out.  EM

I found a video of 7012 on the Infinity that has the bed near the bath so I think that at least some OV on deck 7 have beds that are not directly under the window.

Noise is our main concern. We had a cabin on Azamara that was directly above the lounge and it was miserable.

I am sensitive to noise and would rather have the 7006 cabin.

I Have stayed in these forward window cabins in the past and because you are near the End of a passageway there is less foot traffic passing outside.

As for the bed position if it is under the window, I just ask to have it turned to be against the wall.

My worst noise issue is Door Slammers  that have no concern for others.

I know what you mean about Azamara. That and the Tiny Showers made our experience with them a One and Done.

No wonder RCCL sold them off.
