In Retirement Posted February 25, 2018 #3402 Share Posted February 25, 2018 Looking for information on Carnival Vista cabins 10208 10212, 10216 10220. These are actually for the Horizon but figure to ask about the Vista since Horizon is not here yet. Looking for any information good bad. Never had a balcony so wondering a lot about this. Thank you!! Sent from my iPad using Forums As close as I can get to your situation, I once (never again) sailed New Year's Day (never again) on the Magic, which had made maiden voyages in the Mediteranean and now was at our home port for first Western Hemisphere cruises. I was attracted to age of ship (it had to be better!?) and was greatly disappointed. "New" basically means additional attractions to attract your money. Because ship cabins are essentially metal boxes, and metal does a great job of conducting sound, your job MUST be to search for possible sound and avoid it! The space above and below you should be cabins. If you have never been in a balcony cabin, you will love the difference if just to open the drape and allow the light in! Selecting the location of the balcony has to do with the itinerary (if you want to see the land you will pass) and the issue of location on the ship (front cabins may attract vibration) and the size and type of balcony (need to look at discussions of balconies on CC for specific cruise line). Good luck. DL:)
clearlake_cruiser Posted March 5, 2018 #3403 Share Posted March 5, 2018 RCI Vision of the Seas, Deck 4 Oceanview forward #4516 Just have to say this cabin had loud noise from crew maintenance outside deck above us EVERY MORNING AT 4:30AM. It sounded like a wrench banging on metal then hose filling up a water drum.
CarolinaGirl2010 Posted March 15, 2018 #3404 Share Posted March 15, 2018 Anywhere near the atrium on any floor because the noise of the late night DJ travels up the atrium. Again....boom...boom...boom...
go-cruisin-gal Posted March 16, 2018 #3405 Share Posted March 16, 2018 How about a thread telling cruisers where not to stay. I was just on the Carnival Triumph, room 8410, below the back of the lido - pool deck. I didn't think it would be too bad, as usually the rear pool bar closes early at night. My room was near the 24 hour pizzeria. DON'T STAY IN THIS AREA. Due to the wooden deck, you will hear chairs and tables being moved between 11 pm and 5 am while you are attempting to sleep. It's constant. It seemed at 4:45 AM the staff was cleaning this area. One night they had a private party at the rear pool area, a dj started at 11 pm and it went until 3 am. BOOM BOOM BOOM BOOM BOOM you get the picture. On the other hand, being just one deck below the pools and buffet was nice. Just take a sleeping pill like I did every night.Where are other places to avoid? I did the "let them chose the room" for the cheaper rate, now I'm really getting worried of what room and the circumstances may be?? Was this a bad idea ?? , have never cruised before so didn't think of what may be above or beside the room!! uggggh :o:(
Overwhelming Posted March 25, 2018 #3406 Share Posted March 25, 2018 How about Magic Balcony Cabin 7430? Wondering if the view is obstructed and if it is smoky? I have tried researching pictures of the Magic Decks but I am not a seasoned cruiser. Thanks for your help!
CanWeGoYet? Posted May 31, 2019 #3407 Share Posted May 31, 2019 This was one of my favorite threads on CC, and it fell off the board! How can that be, it needs to be resurrected. I had to do a google search, could not find it otherwise.

crystalspin Posted July 12, 2019 #3410 Share Posted July 12, 2019 4 hours ago, irismike said: Any input for 8082 on the serenade of the seas I would put the question in a new thread, with ship and cabin number in the title. It looks a fine room with the bed(s) nearer the balcony door, the loveseat and desk/chair nearer the hall door. Staterooms over and under you. As suggested at the TOP of this forum, start a new thread with the name of ship and number of cabin. This thread is for warning people of less-than-desirable cabins you have been in. Wish I knew more about the Solstice, haven't cruised on this ship. I took a look at the deck plans, looks to me like you are below the Spa cafe and above another balcony. Maybe others will chime in who can tell you more - even if there is food prep in the cafe hopefully it isn't a 24/7 noise situation like in the galleys. Enjoy, it should be wonderful in an aqua class!
NCTribeFan Posted July 24, 2019 #3414 Share Posted July 24, 2019 MSC Divina Bella inside cabin 9166 - great location, nice cabin (and a beautiful ship). Problem was that there's a crew door around the corner, which means the door is by the wall with the head of the bed (you can see the little opening on the deck plans - I use cruisedeckplans dot com). Very large, heavy, steel door that slammed all day and all night. I mean, slammed hard enough to jar the bed. Not good. A couple of doors down would probably be just fine. Probably the same on the starboard side.
CRUISEWITHH Posted July 27, 2019 #3415 Share Posted July 27, 2019 We just got off the Carnival Inspiration and had the worst stateroom that we have ever endured in all our 80+ cruises. It was a Handicapped cabin R289...Didn't realize that it was just next door to the crew "door" all night banging, rolling that sounded like their utility carts rolling back and forth and banging into the wall. Other sounds that we couldn't make out. And it was every night... No use to complain there was no where else for us to go since we needed a H/C stateroom. Also, when we first went in, the room was so small and the bed blocked the entry so that there was only about 6 feet between the door and the bed. My husband would have had to park his scooter in front of the bathroom door!!!! Finally someone from housekeeping came to move the bed and give us a LITTLE MORE ROOM. Worst room we have ever had!!! w
curcurt Posted July 27, 2019 #3416 Share Posted July 27, 2019 Serenade of the Seas - Cabin 7596 When a band is playing or any event is happening at the R Bar on deck 4 your could easily hear it in the cabin. The cabin door is right across from the main fire door to the open area that goes from Deck 4 and up. They even have speakers on deck seven to boost the sound. We closed the fire door at night and still could hear the band playing. Most music stopped by mid-night.
Evangaline Posted October 15, 2019 #3417 Share Posted October 15, 2019 Celebrity Edge-- Concierge Suite This cabin category has a separate bedroom, but it is listed as for 4 persons. Does anyone know if the sofa in the living area is a pull-out ? Thanks
copper6606 Posted January 12, 2020 #3418 Share Posted January 12, 2020 Has anyone ever had a stateroom above a Casino. My friend just booked on Cruise on MSC Meraviglia and I am wondering how loud that will be?
Evangaline Posted January 12, 2020 #3419 Share Posted January 12, 2020 Much worse if it was above a theater which I would not do at any price.

Tillypops Posted April 25, 2020 #3421 Share Posted April 25, 2020 I booked my 2020 vacation for 6th September on Cunard Queen Victoria I decided to change my stateroom to deck 1, room number 1038 a deluxe inside stateroom. While looking at the deck plan I am aware that it is under the casino. Does anyone have any information regarding this room location, room layout, noise factors and motion. Evangaline Posted April 25, 2020 #3422 Share Posted April 25, 2020 I would not book an inside room until there is a vaccine for Covid just in case something goes wrong and you are stuck in there. Casino noise might be the least of your problems.
Tillypops Posted May 2, 2020 #3423 Share Posted May 2, 2020 Thank you for responding I booked the vacation in 2019 for September 2020 before any knowledge of Covid-19 there was a room upgrade available which I took i know Cunard of offering a variety of options to guests up to 31st August so will just have to wait see if 6th September sailing goes ahead. i am not making any decision on cancelling at this moment as it would mean a loss of deposit just hanging on in there!! Evangaline Posted May 2, 2020 #3425 Share Posted May 2, 2020 I thought if you cancelled 3 months out before final payment that you could get your deposit back. I booked once with Cunard and cancelled and that is how it worked then.
