templed Posted February 11, 2007 #1 Share Posted February 11, 2007 If you go over to the Constellation Web cam at Celebrityatsea.com... you'll see a big ole sign... Highseas no longer services Celebrity Constellation. Does anyone know who is taking over? and.... what will happen to the webcams?
C 2 C Posted February 11, 2007 #2 Share Posted February 11, 2007 Celebrity is taking over and providing their own support people. I have no information about Webcams from Celebrity or any of the other cruiselines whose cams are available for online viewing http://www.kroooz-cams.com/celebrityindex.html
templed Posted February 11, 2007 Author #3 Share Posted February 11, 2007 I called Captain's club to see if they had any further information... but they didn't.
Rare Jim_Iain Posted February 12, 2007 #4 Share Posted February 12, 2007 Personally, I didn't call Captains Club. My previous calls to them over the years taught me that I would hear more here on Cruise Critics than information given by Celebrity to their customer support team.
templed Posted February 12, 2007 Author #5 Share Posted February 12, 2007 True... But I figured it was worth a shot.

Arno..........I don't want to put the burden on you............except you seem to know........or have a better feel........than anyone else that I know..............what seems to be happening on X. C 2 C Posted February 12, 2007 #10 Share Posted February 12, 2007 If you want any information about Celebrity......call Arno Rick Hey Rick... Very funny.. In January I tried to find out if it was possible to actually get paid to cruise. I emailed HCS and this is the response: Dear Arno, Thank you for your inquiry to Highseas Computer Services. We are doing a short term and a long term needs analysis and until that has been completed we will not be looking at new Instructors. I will keep your name on file and get back to you if any positions open up. Once again, thank you for your interest. Linda Gumley HCS Training Center While onboard Century we had lunch with the HCS manager who was looking for a new job because the contract was being terminated fleetwide one ship at a time. He was going to let me know if Celebrity would be hiring directly... (My computer background.. we opened a computer store in 1982 selling Atari & Commodore computers, taught "basic" and a few semesters of Visual Basic in high school).... just enough to know a bit from a byte.. c-legs Posted February 12, 2007 #11 Share Posted February 12, 2007 :( Good morning, Appears as though GALAXY is next to have its '' lights out''....Current cam shot is frozen as at yesterday late afternoon, not refreshed since...given the current developpments, I'd say the "big black announcement "" is moments away... Still not a sound from HQ as to plan ''B'' ( or is there a plan ''B'' ??? ) Cheers
Rare Jim_Iain Posted February 13, 2007 #12 Share Posted February 13, 2007 Looked like the cams were down for a period on Galaxy, but when I just checked they are working again. Maybe Galaxy isn't the next to go. Jim

sal7202 Posted March 20, 2007 #15 Share Posted March 20, 2007 Does anyone know if this will affect internet access from the ship? I usually don't access the internet while cruising, but I have to get to Southwest airlines the day before we dock to do online check-in print our boarding pass. Stock Cop Posted March 20, 2007 #16 Share Posted March 20, 2007 Have another great trip Arno. Arno and the Infinity are headed to Ft. Lauderdale. I will put my chips on the Infinity to be the next to have web cam pulled. I don't mean to imply that Arno has anything to do with that---just that he is currently on Infinity before he jumps back to Century. Again. I thimk he will be "Captain Arno" next. Rare hcat Posted March 23, 2007 #17 Share Posted March 23, 2007 Still haven't heard if internet access is available on Century since High Seas no longer services this ship. Will we be able to get on-line?
ecslady Posted March 23, 2007 #18 Share Posted March 23, 2007 Yes, you will be able to get online on the Century. Someone else is posting from the Century now - see the thread titled "Century - Cubans Rescued at Sea" or something like that.
