Anyone know the course for the pre-inaugeral on 5/6? How far out will the ship go on the 1 night pre-inaugeral? Will we go out far enough that they will open up the casino? Or will it just float around in the harbor? Will we be able to see the Statue of Liberty from Bayonne -- or will we sail by it?

Berbet - Isn't the one night pre-inaugural on May 6th? There is a 2 nighter from the 4th-6th. I'm guessing that the casino will be open. The e-mail I received from AAA said that RCI will provide transfers from Newark airport and guests are responsible for personal expenses (not limited to) spa and salon services, retail shops, photo services and casino.

We should have a great view of the Statue of Liberty. She looms large in the harbor. Although I haven't lived in NJ for several years, I do remember that Bayonne is very close to Jersey City where Liberty State Park is located and lady Liberty is just a short boat ride from the park. I can't wait to sail past her!

I wonder if personal expenses means they will not be having an open bar as they did on the FOS pre-inaugurals?

The casino was open and hopping on that cruise and I expect the same on Liberty.

YAY!! I just got an email from CC about the pre-inaug for Liberty!! I have NO other details other than that, so someone tell me what I should be looking forward to! I have NEVER gotten one of these invites before, but am SO EXCITED ABOUT IT!! I live in NJ, does that mean I would be invited to the NJ pre-inaug?? DO TELL!!! lol :D

Also, how many people do they let you take with you? And how much does it cost generally?

I got that same email. The return address doesn't match what you pull up here, so I'm suspicious, forwarded it on to Laura S & am awaiting a response.

The only "loyal" thing about my CC history is that I post a lot. And they have no way of knowing if I'm telling the truth about my cruising history. And RCI has my telephone number and knows that I'm DP, so they don't need Cruise Critic's help to invite me. And "any other contact information?" Kinda vague, if you ask me.

Am I being paranoid? Answer: yes - Laura S just confirmed!

My email was directly from Laura S. If yours wasn't I would definitely check it out.

Christie,

We might finally meet!!! I got an invitation via CC, too.

I note that Critterchick has confirmed in her post above that Laura confirmed to her that this is legitimate.

I forwarded a copy of the email & Laura confirmed that it's legit! I only gave minimal information anyway, because I'm paranoid.....:o

What a world, what a world....

I felt the same way. I gave my name and phone number. Those are both in our local phone book so they're not exactly top secret. We would fly for a two-day cruise but not a one day.

honey, all I know is what is in the email. I think it's wonderful and I will do anything legal to make sure I'm on the ship!!!

I'm ChristieNJ's aunt and she forwarded me a copy of the email that CC sent to her; it's definitely legit, the return email address is from @cruisecritic.com; that's where it came from.

It's my guess that RCI gave CC a set number of invites that they could then extend to their members, and that's how Christie and some of you got invited. Lucky dogs! :D

I'm guessing you're right. Given that CC will likely wait a few days to get all its RSVP's in from the members, it might be a few days until we hear from RCL. That's going to be tough waiting!

Got one today, too. From Lauras. Didn't send anything back that isn't in the phone book or many places on the internet.

Now we wait and see where and when (and if).

Be fun to meet some of the folks we "see" on here a lot.

The common thread seems to be frequent posters who answer a lot of questions...
