What Does It Mean???

Recommended Posts

OK, I give up. I've been reading these threads and need to know what DH, DD, etc. mean? Help! I feel like I joined the club and wasn't given the codebook. :)

Basically, think of all those abbreviations as laziness. :D

Oh come on now, JK. R,JK. S, JK. LOL

Here is a link I found that has these and more:

AIM Acronym Dictionary

I didn't go through the whole list, but i think this has the basic stuff. Oh, and since this is a cruise board, let me tie this in with cruising, um, have fun "cruising" through the acronym lists!;) :p

Well, after going back and looking at the list, some common things are missing and it looks like it may be more teen lingo than anything else. Sorry! Just do a search of computer acronyms and you should find the more common ones!

I just call my family by "hubby" "son", "daughter", etc.... The "dear" or "darling" is waaay too sweet-sounding...

I very rarely call DH anything at home other than "Dear", "Sweetie" or "Honey", if I called him by name he'd think he was in trouble... ;) So it makes perfect sense to call him "DH" here... :D

Funny, my wife calls me everything but my name as well. If she calls my name I know I'm in trouble.

I thought I was pretty savy on these until the other day when Merion-Mom used YMMV. Typed it into altavista and found the answer to my problem www.netlingo.com

Sorry.............hadn't meant to confuse anyone. :D

Many people use JMHO. I prefer JMO. I am rarely humble. :D

Has anyone seen the new Cingular commercial where the mother threatens to take away the 'tween's phone because she is texting too much and running up the bill? It's abbreviations gone wild!

LOL, i saw that one the other day!! Crazy! Did you hear about the 13 year old girl who won $25,000 for typing the thing from Mary Poppins, and I can't even BEGIN to type it all, lol-Supercalafredgealistic, you know the rest!!:D :p She did it in 13 seconds! she said she sends about 8000 texts a month to family and friends! What???? What kind of a plan do those people HAVE? And what are her grades in school like? I would hate to run into her, maybe literally, on a cruise! (I had to stay on topic with this post, since we ARE on a cruise message board, tee hee!)
