Recent dining room favorites

We have not traveled with Celebrity in the past few years, mostly RCI. When we compare the two, we think of the wonderful Eggs Benedict, Cream Caroline Soup, Homemade Dressings, Homemade Ice Creams, many Beef selections with Bernaise Sauce, etc.....

Just wondering what favorites might still be there? What are your favorites that you had recently?

The breadsticks are addicting:)

The French Potatoe Pie on the lunch menu in

I never saw the mohr im hemd on my previous cruise. It's on the lunchtime menu, right? If we ask the waiter when it's being served, will he/she know?

It is on the lunchtime menu according to asst. maitre'd. You may find out from a waiter.

Actually I requested it for dinner at late dining. The asst. maitre'd requested it from galley and after a few nights it was served to all eight at our table.

I suspect they may have served it on the same day it was served at lunchtime.

Would one of you helpful people please describe this dessert.

Is it like a cheesecake or sponge?

It sounds like my type of pud but I'd love to know more :D

Decided to google and found this

2-1/8 oz. butter (unsalted)

3/4 oz. powdered sugar

3 egg yolks

1-3/4 oz. white bread, diced

3-1/3 fl. oz. milk

3/4 oz. chocolate

3 egg whites

1/2 oz. granulated sugar

1-3/4 oz. hazelnuts, grated

1-3/4 oz. bread crumbs

1/2 oz. cake flour

Whip together butter and powdered sugar. Moisten diced white bread with milk. Add diced bread and chocolate heated gently until liquid to butter mix. Whip egg whites and granulated sugar to an oily consistency, carefully fold the whisked egg whites into the mixture. Stir in flour, bread crumbs and grated hazelnuts. Prepare 6 small pudding molds by buttering the insides and dusting them with bread crumbs. Pour mixture into the molds, place molds in water in a double boiler and finish puddings in a pre-heated 350 degree F oven for about 45 minutes.

Unmold puddings onto dessert plates, serve with chocolate sauce and whipped cream.

The amounts look rather odd though - maybe someone had attempted to convert grammes to ounces?

Any of their scallop dishes, most seafood, bread sticks were great with the salads, salad dressings, didn't have a bad appetizer..and remember shrimp cocktails available every night even if not on menu. Delicious fress shrimp Sauces/gravies on all meat dishes wonderful. We did not enjoy the cold fruit soups as they were often too sweet for us.

Lois-

Hypnotique!, yes.. We were flying from Houston to Aruba two Springs ago for a week with our best friends. I noticed it in the DF shop and picked a bottle up for our hostess (DW's BF for 25 years).. Needless to say we all 4 drank it all week long and DW still keeps a bottle.

2Scots - sailing Mercury in 4 weeks to AK!

2Scots, I saw the bottle in the Navigator Lounge on Mercury

and asked one of the bartenders if I could just have a taste:)

Needless to say, as soon as I tasted it I had him pour me a glass

Back in 2000 we sailed RCCL and they had THE most amazing salad dressing. On our last cruise with them they no longer offered it. Now I will be sailing X in July and am wondering if there's ANY chance they will have it?

Well, first and last, the waffles.

But also the potato and montrachet cheese appetizer

The creme Caroline soup (creamy chicken)

The creamy chicken with corn soup

The mushroom soup

Caesar salads (lunch and dinner)

The turkey dinner (yes, I'm not kidding -- stuffing, yams, all the trimmings)

The crepes Suzette

Bittersweet chocolate cake

And don't forget that you can ask for the Vegetarian menu every night --

it has other options, including a very good lasagna.

As a matter of fact, I'm going to put that in its own thread -- most people don't know that there's a separate vegetarian menu available every night.

Also on our most recent cruise, we had two people of Indian descent who asked the assistant maitre 'd if they could have curry -- he couldn't do it the next night because that was St. Petersburg but the night after, there was their curry.
