They're more than helpful... also they offer some cool packages if you want so scuba dive or snorkel. As for kiddos, as some have voiced concerns about, I chose this beach specifically because of them, I don't want a crowded beach somewhere, they've never seen the ocean and I want them to experience the beauty and tranquility. 3 and 8 years old... they'll be stoked with sand toys, building castles and drinking some yummy frozen non-alcoholic fruit drinks. Kids don't need constant entertainment, good food, drinks and sand toys -- kids will play for hours on end. :) And I'm bringing my camera (not the great one)... not worried about theft at all. Being at a non-crowded beach, I doubt very seriously anyone would mess with any of our stuff. I am considering getting a disposable water proof one, though :)

If you don't want to pay the $50 go to Mr Sanchos very nice beach, good food and drink/ pool, bar, quiet as well, plus you can do other things if you wish like horseback riding, trampoline, jet sking, ATV's or just sit in the beach or pool and realax all day no entry fee!!

That being said I do beleive my husband and I might try Nachi this time, I drink he does not but I would like to try something different we loved Mr Sanchos this past May though! We stayed until around 4:30 then went into town to Carlos and Charlies and had a blast then back to the pier and did a little shopping before getting back on the ship. ENJOY

We were @ Nachi Cocom on October 1st. It was great! We tipped our waiter $20 (2 adults, 2 kids) at the very beginning and he took great care of us all day long. He was so great, we tipped him another $20 when we left ;)

Just returned. Excellent. It is the off season and we basically had the place to ourselves. I really mean that. Over the course of about 4.5 hours there might have been 6 other people using the chairs/palapas. We saw some people come up but they just did snorkeling.

When we first arrived we got nailed by tons of mosquitoes. The lady had us hold the sombraros while the mosquitoes feasted. We got right off the ship and took a taxi out there, so we were the first people to arrive. The people at NC gave us some mosquito repellant and that worked and the mosquitoes went away as the sun came up. The ocean was actually a bit warmer than the pool, but the hot tub make up for that. It was everything that the others claimed on CC, and I will post some pictures in a day or two.

I walked down the beach a couple hundred yards and came across Mr. Sanchos, which had music and two volleyball nets and a bunch of tourist junk being sold from shops right on site. NC had none of the cheesy tourist junk for sale.

The people at Nachi came around once or twice asking if you were interested in wave runners, massage, etc. But they were not pushy in the least. the lady came around 3 times to ask us if we wanted to buy the picture she took of us.

I had one soda, 6 mamasitas, and 3 beers. Pleased will all of them. I also enjoyed the food. The menu has changed slightly since the one posted here on CC, and I took some pictures of the new menu and I will post them in a day or two. I even took pictures of the food and I will post those as well.

WELL WORTH THE MONEY

We saw a couple who had teenage girls with them leave after about 2 hours because the teens were bored. However, that should have been no surprise after reading these boards.

We were there last year and will be there again next week. YOu have me curious about the menu. What did you have? Last year we each had the ribs, fries and coconut ice cream. It was excellent. Were ribs still available?

Hey all! Today is my first day back at work after our cruise (BOOOO! HISS!). Am still on cruise time though, lots of great memories.

As far as Nachi is concerned....here's my thoughts:

Mentioned earlier is the mosquitos...tons of them. manuel did bring by repellant which worked well, until you went swimming....I'd bring my own if I were going...but remember...any of the other beaches along there are going to have mosquitos too...not just Nachi.

Manuel was awesome! He actually told us we could have 4 courses...appetizer, soup/salad, Entree, and Dessert. He also said we could double up if we wanted...for instance, if we didnt want soup/salad, we could have 2 appetizers, Entree and Dessert...that's per person! Or 2 entrees, etc...you get the idea...a total of 4 things per person. We didn't get to eat all that. One down note, they have homemade flan, but I ordered it around closing time and they were out...he brought cheesecake instead. Manuel was very attentive...he kept bringing drinks...even before we were finished, he'd bring another round...if we didn't want that one, he'd leave it and go get whatever we wanted...they made GREAT amaretto sours (my wife's favorites..she was pleased). If you needed ANYTHING, he was very quick to respond.

When we arrived (around 1pm...we did some shopping first), there were 2 other couples there in the hot tub, another couple arrived later, but we never saw them on the beach. We basically had the entire beach to ourselves. It was smaller than what I'd thought but still very well kept. it is a crushed shell beach, so there are some rough spots, but was no big deal.

The snorkeling was not very good. I didin't get to go the entire area, but only a few rocks/reefs with fish...maybe there was more....much better in Cayman Islands though.

Two other negatives: They were working on the pier near there so there was a constant drilling/hammering going on...kinda disruptive if you were trying to sleep (which my wife was). The other was the picture girl, who took a picture of us outside...she was a little pushy when we declined to buy her picture, trying to tell us that is her source of income...a sob story...may be true, but we still didn't want the picture...you have to get used to that type of thing in Cozumel though...its in almost every shop you pass.

In total: Someone said earlier...it depends on what you want in a beach....if you want tranquility and being pampered...this is the place for you. If you want a little more excitement, then try Mr. Sanchos or Paradise Beach.

Well worth the $49.

Am not overly impressed with Cozumel in general. Was not here, which was a good thing...any island is better than here, and we may try something different if we do another cruise there. Nachi worked great for what we were wanting.

Sorry to jump in, but yes, ribs were still available. Wife had fajitas and grilled shrimp, I had grilled shrimp, nachos. If you're not going to eat all courses at once, hang onto a menu...when we went to the beach, we didn't have one and couldnt remember what all they had.

I just booked Nachi last night and got my confirmation today! We are excited , last time we went to Mr Sanchos and it was nice but this time we would like peace and quiet/pampering and I love the idea of the swim up bar , costa Maya had that and we just loved it! I have heard nothing but good things abut Nachi so I hope it lives up to all the good revues, we are looking for a relaxing quiet time togeather so this should do it :)

We just got back from Nachi Cocum - we were there on 10/11. It was beautiful, the service was excellent but I am sad to say we did not experience the quiet serenity of an almost deserted beach. There were probably 60-80 people there and a large portion of them were taking extreme advantage of the "free drinks." They were extremely rowdy, singing, playing football in the pool, general "partying." I am not trying to be a wet blanket but it wasn't what we were expecting or what we had hoped for. We were really hoping to escape the party atmosphere of the Lido deck for at least one day. We did drag our chairs out to the ocean (which was beautiful!) to try and drown out the sound.

As I said Nachi is beautiful, the food was excellent, the service was fantastic, but all in all it was a disappointing day. We do plan to go back though and just hope we have the "relaxing" crowd there that day.

I believed someone asked about the price of the tours - $40 for the snorkeling and you can rent a float for $8. Also, as to cab rides it seemed in general any ride to the "beach" whether it be Paradise, San Francisco, Mr. Sancho's or Nachi are all $15. Maybe the price will go down next week when Carnival leaves the Punta Lugosta pier and reopens its own pier which is closer to the beaches.

My wife and I along with our friends were there last Friday. Personally I loved it. Our friends, however were less than impressed. Now to tell the story.

We got off the Conquest and went to the bottom of the stairs. We saw the taxi stand and he tried to get us to buy a package there. We turned him down and went off to the main street and saw the prices to the beaches. it was $15, we got 4 of us into the car and went to nachi.I ended up giving him a $20 and he didn't offer change and I didn't ask for any. He was very helpful. We stepped out of the car and were immediately molested by hordes of mosquitos. I recommend that you put some bug dope on before you get there. Now this is the first time I have heard about this so it could have been due to recent weather. Just fyi. We got there and paid our remaining fees in cash. Manuel was our waiter and he escorted us to our chairs. There were quite a few people there, probably had to do with the 4 ships in port. Oh well. It never felt crowded. We ordered drinks and Frank and Carrie rented masks and snorkels. It cost them $8. Just fyi, everything there is on a cash basis. No credit cards at all, not even for the equipment rental. We swan for an hour or more on the beach. if you have sensitive feet, bring water shoes. We went into the pool. It is no more than 4 foot deep but very nice. They have a swim up bar but there were a group of people hogging it most of the time. They eventually left and we had it.

In the meantime I had gone down to the beach and relaxed trying to get some sun. I am very embarrased to report that I didn't get a single picture while here and I don't even know why. It was overcast most of the day so it wasn't too hot. After a while keri came and got me and we saw Frank and Carrie and they were ready to go back. They had already eaten. Keri and I rushed through a great meal. We all had nachos for our appetizer and I had a fajita combo. Wow. Incredible. We skipped dessert. I had numerous drinks throughout the day but while eating the fajitas, I had 3 mexican mai-tais and they sneak up on you. On the way back, I was a lot tipsy.

I mentioned that Frank and Carrie didn't have a great time. Most of it had to do with mosquitos, some of it had to do with the fact that the snorkeling isn't that great off of the beach. They had been snorkeling in Jamaica and Grand cayman and they liked those excursions. This was a little too sedate for them.

I would go there again in a heartbeat. It was one of the most relaxing times I have ever had. I would go there again and go earlier and stay longer. The people were great, the food great and other than the mosquitos, nothing was a problem. Enjoy

I wonder if the bugs had to do with the time of year? Now I'm worried. My Mom and I were planning on going to Nachi in April. I will definately try to remember to take bug spray, as we are Georgia Peaches and mosquitos just LOVE us!!

Thanks for the tip.

Cruisenewbie1,

Thanks for the report on Nachi Cocom. We will be in Cozumel June 2009 and Nachi is on our tentative schedule. We are trying to fit in everything we want to do in our one day there. Can you please tell me how long you stayed at Nachi? I'm trying to fit it into our schedule but I think I would only have about 2 to 2 1/2 hours to stay there.

Thanks again for the info!

Daphne

We were at Nachi this past Saturday (10/11) and did not have any problem with mosquitos. However, it did rain A LOT while we were there...so, that could have been the reason for them.

Our whole group really loved it! We will be going back whenever we are in Cozumel. The food was awesome. I also skipped dessert b/c I was too full to eat it. AND I was also a lot tipsy heading back to the ship. I didn't try the Mexican mai tai's but the Mamasitas and tequila shots will knock you on your booty too!!

Daphne, there are SOOO many things to do in Cozumel, you will just have to plan another trip to get them all in!! I have been to Coz seven times (3 times this year) with two more trips scheduled for December and have done something different each time. We were at Nachi for 4 1/2 hours and got our money's worth. So, depending on how much your group drinks or eats, you'll have to determine whether you will be getting your money's worth.
