Hi would it be possible for you to find out who will be the entertainer in the piano bar on the TA sailing 21st April? Im hoping it's somebody lively!

Thanks x :D

You can ask Royal directly about entertainment. Send an email to web_reservations@rccl.com. Mind the underscore after "web". If you make a request too far in advance, they won't have accurate information, so I'd wait until 3-4 weeks before the cruise.

Thanks Bob - You actually just reminded me to send an email and I just did :)

Our biggest issue with AOS was the port and embarkation. We were in line for 3hours:eek::eek::mad:!

How has it been lately? So many peope complained at the meet and greet and the CD said that has been an issue with the San Juan port, not rccl.

We all want to get back on AOS.

Yes, we labeled certain ppl as "the cutters". We still laugh to this day.

I guess they just hated to wait lol

On a not so funny note, my sister and brother in law were playing a game in the casino that you put quarters into and it pushes money to the edge. A ten dollar bill fell down and this kid reached right between his legs, grabbed it and took off!!

We reported it but, to our knowledge nothing happened.

On my cruise out of Tampa, a man asked me what was the big deal about taking pics of the sunset??? He said he sees it everynight for God's sake! Talk about rude!!

So rude people are everywhere. The good out weighs the bad.

Look at my countdown clock!!!:eek: I'm leaving in 10 days for San Juan!!!!!

Okay, now back to your regularly scheduled programming ;)

Have a wonderful time!!! If you see a waitress named Claudia (she was at 2 places on our last 2 cruises - first at the Duck & Dog; and then at the the ice cream stand near Cafe Promenade) ... Please say "hello" for us "miss mary & mr john" - she greeted us on the Promenade every night to hear about our day. When the cruise was ending I gave her some hand lotions ... she was so happy & touched that the next cruise that was how she first remembered us (& again thanked me). She was delightful!!

Absolutely! I will look for her and of course let her know that you say hello :) When you refer to the ice cream stand, do you mean Ben and Jerry's - because I will be a frequent visitor there!!!!

That's the one ... I just wasn't totally confident it was Ben & Jerry's by name but knew you'd have the spot!

Firstly... LOVE your CC username!

Apparently they have a hard time getting everyone off the ship & that delays all of us wanting to get on.

As for the sunset, once I was really excited about my upcoming aft cabin & showed my boss a pic of my huge balcony, how awesome my view would be & so on... -- He replied with.. "I live in Long Beach, I wake up to that every day." I wanted to vomit. I told him "Well you should thank your lucky stars & be grateful. That view cost me $4,000 & since I don't live there, I'm taking two weeks off to enjoy it!" BAHAHAHAHA!!!!

There are people out there who aren't happy unless they are miserable & they like to take down everyone in their path. I have learned over the past few yrs to just eliminate the people & things that suck the life out of you & how to be positive. Especially lots of the comments on the "other" AOS thread. There's so much more to be optimistic about!

Enjoy your cruise & may you have smooth sailing ahead!!!!

I am excited for you! :D I leave for San Juan in 53 days! I can't wait to go! But, I also can't wait to hear all about your experiences! I hope it is as wonderful as it ALWAYS is for you! I will be on the Aruba itinerary, so I will pay particular attention to anything you share about that portion of your trip. It seems like the AOS Aruba itinerary is the one that gets most of the "bad" press. Is Aruba on week 1? or week 2 of your trip? I try to not let negative reviews affect me, because I live in a "happy bubble" and don't usually notice the negative things anyway. But with all the recent negative posts about AOS and the Aruba route, I have to keep coming back to YOUR positive thread to refill my "happy bubble"! ;) Thank you ckrobyn, for keeping the thread alive!

Hi Bonnie,

The Aruba route is cruise "A" and it is in fact my first week onboard. Having said that, a few short years ago, the Aruba route was the only route on AOS and we did 4 B2B's all on the same itinerary and adored every single one of them!!! :D Please let me know if you have specific questions, or there are pictures you want me to take.....I can take lots of pics on turnaround day, especially of empty cabins

No thanks are needed......this thread is my Happy Place, filled with happy people who really love to cruise and are kind, tolerant and most of all interested in all cultures, not just their own!

Thanks goes out to you for being our resident expert on Aft cabins!!! Because of you, I have had the pleasure of cruising in 1100 on the Radiance and 1706 on the Freedom and loved them both!!! :)

Hi Robyn.

Leaving for our very first B2B out of San Juan on AOS in only 39 days:D

Please come back and post info on turn around day so we know what to expect:o If you have to leave the ship, lunch in MD etc etc ?

Do they have the free style coke machines ?

Who is the CD and who is the concierge ? And if and where there is reserved area for suite guest on the pool deck?

We are in a GS but have to change cabin after our first leg.

We are very excited after reading all the posts here.

Thanks, and enjoy your cruise:)

Ps. And if you feel like writing a few words about what to expect on Aruba, Curacao ? Never been there.

Hi Everyone,

We just returned from the Jan 27th sailing on AOS. It was a wonderful cruise and the ship was in great shape.

I was a bit concerned with some review comments I had read concerning wear and tear. I didn't notice any at all. Maybe they were using a magnifying glass. The crew was excellent ... very friendly and very helpful.

BTW ... we had a JS and it had brand new balcony furniture. I'm assuming that only JS's and above have it. Our friends were in a D1 and they still had the old style ... and it was in good condition too.

In reference to the poster who was complaining about a 3 hour wait at the port ... well ... we arrived at the pier at 10:35 and was seated with SeaPass in hand at 10:45. No waiting at all. It was the smoothest checkin we've experienced. Oh ... we were on-board at 11:55 too.

We also have a JS AFT on deck 10 - I'm thrilled to hear there is new furniture! So lounge chairs, regular chairs and table?!?

Thanks for posting about the embarkation too - I've never had a problem myself, but it has been a couple years since we've been down there.

What cabin? I can probably get in there on turnaround day and snap a few photos if you'd like?

Hi Sheri :) I can sense your excitement!!!!

Now to answer your questions as best I can.....

I will definitely post about my experience on turnaround day - but I can tell you from many B2B's out of San Juan, you will be issued an "In Transit" card that will allow you off the ship and back on again without having to go through customs. There is a lunch offered in the MDR for B2B guests, although I have never gone to it

There are no freestyle coke machines yet - will likely be installed during drydock amongst other planned enhancements.

The CD is Anthony Richards - I have sailed with him before and I quite liked him. No idea who the Concierge is, but when I get my email next week I will let you know! Actually there is a thread on here about current Concierge's and I am sure it is listed there.

The reserved seating on the pool deck is the stadium seating on either side of the pool bar - this is one perk I am very much looking forward to while I am staying in an OS!!!

Aruba - one of my favorite islands. Lots of great shopping steps from the port, and if you are a beach person there are many to choose from. We usually head over to Palm Beach where the highrise hotels are located - but there is also the quieter Eagle Beach where the low rise hotels are - either way, the sand is like powder and the water as blue as can be!

Curacao - Lovely cultural experience with a distinct Dutch flair. Lots to see and do in "Punda" which is the downtown area that is accessible either by walking across the pontoon bridge, or by a short ferry ride. Shopping is great with lots of interesting stores down narrow streets, some with cobblestone roads! Of course a trip to Curacao would not be complete without a visit to the floating market - boats from neighboring Venezuela lined up selling everything from produce to fresh fish.

I hope that answers some of your questions? If not, feel free to ask and I'm sure someone on this thread will have the answer!!!

B2B Question... Does anyone know if the duty free allotment for liquor is doubled since we are traveling twice? And if so, do they give you your bottles on the last night of the first leg or do they hold onto everything till the end, end? Curious.

Ocean boy - Thinking about doing the Curaçao caves & city tour. Any insight? We are big "cave" people. Is it a long walk through? Lots of steps? A boat perhaps?

Hey Ria :)

Not sure about duty free allotment? They hold your liquor purchases, but I always pick mine up on the Saturday night before the end of the first cruise - never had an issue. If they are supplied with a list of B2B passengers, they certainly weren't checking it

As for the Caves......enter at your own risk and keep your eyes peeled to the ceiling for flying vampires  see picture above this post!
