Wine Card Whine

Is there no such thing as a wine card on NCL? I have been reading the Alaska forum and learned that other lines such as HAL offer this. Please tell me that this is an option.....

(If not, and someone from NCL reads this post, could you try to implement such a thing? I bet a beer card would be a big seller, too.)

Depending on the length of the cruise, buy 5 bottles get the 6th one free, buy 6 get the 7th one free, etc...Just ask your waiter when you order the first one. It applies to bottles bought in the dining room, at any of the bars or even room service. Just keep your receipts.

Is there somewhere on NCL's website where we can find out more info on the wine package? Not to compare one cruise line to the other but just as a frame of reference, on RCI we bought a wine package onboard because we couldn't make up our mind beforehand. If we didn't finish the bottle at dinner we took it back to the cabin. I am hoping there is a similar prgram on NCL however I wasn't sure how it worked with all the different restaurants.

Since there is no wine package on NCL, you can not find it on the website.

We drink plenty of wine onboard and would know. They do have the buy 5 get 6th one free think mentioned above. Otherwise buy it as you go. Yes, you can leave your unfinished bottle and get it the next night if you want. At any restaurant onboard.

I have a few other wine related questions. I'm going on my first cruise in May, and I'm planning to bring a few bottles on board and pay the NCL corkage fee. When I do this, will the bottles be in my hands or the ship's? I ask this because my BF and I will definitely want to enjoy some of the bottles in our room and not while dining. Additionally we may want to enjoy a glass or two outside on a public deck.

Would we have to call room service to get the bottle delivered, or can we hold on to a few of the bottles after we check-in? Is it feasible to request that wine glasses be delivered to our room?

You bring the bottles with you and you can enjoy them wherever you want on the ship: your stateroom, the dining rooms, any of the lounges, etc...

You hold on to them...

You can ask your steward for wine glasses or just get them yourself from any bar. Generally, the "Magnum's Champagne & Wine Bar" (on the Jewel) or some equivalent bar on your ship, will have the better glasses.

Enjoy !

And sometimes there are some in your room. We have been known to buy a glass of wine at the bar and just bring those back to the room. Our stewards work overtime with the collection that we seem to build up.

By the way, have you noticed how many people spell stewards as stewart on the boards?

Hi,

How do they cope with booking different restaurants each night. Will the half bottle of wine from the previous night in the main restaurant be available in Cagneys. would it be better taking it back to our room each night, so they don't have to search the ship for our bottle each night?

Thanks

Heather

Left over wine not allowed, IMO. :D

P.S. I admit to this: twice I had left over wine after dinner but I took the glass with me to finish in the casino ... that helped me win some money :D

P.P.S. I *really* enjoyed our 14 days cruise on Pearl recently - I'm making up the review - between glasses of wine ....

Have not cruised before...

so, if we take wine to pay the corkage fee, do we declare it? Do they check for it? Do we bring it in a bag? We are on a 2 night cruise from Seattle, May 2.

Thanks for all of your help!!!

Hi ... my DW and I are going on the Pride of America in July. I had read earlier that there was a Wine & Dine platinum package that you could get for 5 nights ... eat in any of the restaurants and get a bottle of wine each night for about $240. I was thinking of doing that but since the POAM is going to Freestyle 2.0 I didn't know if it still would be offered. Anyone know or have any opinions on this? Thanks dpw
