New Casino Payout Method?

Maybe so but several of my family just came back from a sailing and they did not like it one bit. The code was a hassle and they never knew how much money was in their "bank".

It takes about 30 seconds to set up the account....all they ask for is your birthdate and you make up a PIN number. Then when you want to use the card to either upload or download money, all you do is plug in the PIN number and you're done. So basically all you need to remember is a 4 digit PIN.....not too difficult at all. OR...........you can use cash and cash out at each machine when you're done.

Thanks, as long as they give the cash in cash out option that is cool by me. The biggest issue with the new format I have heard is it is kind of a pain for someone to just hop from machine to machine. You have to transfer your machine dollars to your card before you can exit the machine. Seems like too many steps to me. I hear everyone say it is simple and I am sure it is but it is not the most simple method. When 4 seperate avid slot players I know tell me it was a hassle I have to believe them.

Oh My, now this is something I have not heard of before. Your balance is right there on the read out screen each time you insert your cruise card. How they could have missed it is beyond me:confused::confused:

It shows up each time so you know EXACTLY how much is in your bank at any machine you insert your card to. Maybe a little eyeglass cleaner in their Christmas stocking this year? LOL

Since it seems you haven't tried this yet, I am going to hold off discussing this any further until you do. You are making a huge deal out of something you haven't even experienced. I am sure you will find this entire process a lot simplier than you realize.

Maybe you should tone down your sarcasm, if you are not capable of answering in a mature manner maybe you should take your 20,000 posts and pick up a different hobby, obviously this one has consumed an overwhelming amount of your time and to the point where you are just angry with anyone participating other than yourself. I appreciate the fact you are going to grant me the privilage of "holding off your further discussion with me". Get over yourself, you are just a poster on a message board like everyone else, your excessive posts make you no different than the guy with one post.

Oh My, I am so glad I am the only one that feels you are making something out of nothing when you haven't even tried it yet. (I guess my replies are the only ones you have been reading ;)). Just trying to be funny, not sarcastic. Guess you can't read my grins through the words (should have stuck a few more smiles in there maybe). ;)

Just giving you the facts of how the casino works. But since you have already seemed to have made up your mind that you will absolutely hate it, nobody is going to change your mind about it.

And you know what? If there was a way to delete the post count on CC, I would do it in a minute. I am also tired of the immature posters who seem to refer to post counts whenever possible and they single out one posters replies to their original question, even when over half the replies or more are saying the exact same thing.

Have a great cruise and I hope you find the casino more friendly then you are thinking it will be when you visit.

Have a wonderful cruise!

Toto--I, for one, happen to like your responses. I find them informative, intelligent, objective and kind. I don't see them as sarcastic at all. I totally agree w/ you re: the slots method. We just got off the BATS repo cruise and this was the system my daughter and I used . It was fast, easy, no problem to change from machine to machine. Actually, it was easier--some people that won on the penny or nickel machines were shoveling tons of coins in 2 or 3 buckets, once they were able to FIND the buckets. The only thing you have to be careful of,is once you hit the button to transfer winnings on your card, make sure you see the print-out on the screen say "$$ transferred to card". Also, the last night of the cruise, we got notices in our mailbox, to make sure we cleaned out our account that night. Keep responding,Toto--there are some people who LIKE what you have to say.:):)

These personal attacks are lot of fun, but I must digress.

My wife loved slot machines, so I copied the rules.

Here's the procedure.

CASH OUT CASINO PLAY

NO CASH. NO COINS. NO WORRIES

Directions:

Access funds from your cruise card account. Then, go play.

1) Create A PIN:

Insert cruise Card

Press “change PIN”

Enter current PIN (hint: it’s your birth date)

Enter 4 new numbers

Re-enter them

If it says “PIN successfully changed”, you’re good

2) Put Cash Out On Your Cruise Card*:

Insert cruise card

Press “debit cruise card”

Input your PIN and press Enter

Enter a dollar amount between $10-$200

(Some machines $100. Up to $1,000 per day, per card. $5,000 maximum per cruise)

Go Play

3) Done Winning? Put it in your bank

Make sure your cruise card is in the slot!

Press “To Player Bank”

Input your PIN & press enter

4) Wanna win some more? Go play!

Make sure your cruise card is in the slot!

Press “from player bank”.

Input your PIN & press Enter

5) View player bank balance.

Insert cruise card

Press “from player bank”

Input Your PIN & press Enter

* A 3% surcharge is applied to all cruise card debits. No surcharges apply to Cash Out transactions to/from the Player Bank. All winnings must be collected at the Casino Cage before the casino closes on the last night of the cruise. Player Bank can not be accessed when the casino is closed.

wow this got a little testy. I've love slots and spent some time every day on the CB this year and Crown last year. We frequent our local Indian reservations in CT which are the largest casinos in the world. Go to Vegas every year at least once. Believe me when I say it, there is no problem, difficulty level, hassle or anything else for that matter with the cruise card system in the casino. I love not having to cash out and feed coins into a machine. No waiting for someone to come fill it up mid stream when it runs dry either. It's a breeze to switch machines; takes no longer than getting the piece of paper spit out and put into a new one. The other option is to not frequent the casino if it's too much of a problem. No need to attack Toto; she wasn't attacking you.

And by the way, yes they can track your play and do send amazing offers for specific cruises that have special slot tournaments on board. The lines are linked via the Ocean Players Club (Carnival and Princess are that I know of; not sure of any others). I get offers for Carnival a couple of times a year.

I honestly think you took Toto's post the wrong way....think she was just kidding and wanted to inject some humor into this thread:) She is a wealth of information and a respected member of CC.

Anyway, you can use paper money with no problem if that's your choice. Hope you have wonderful cruise and please don't stress over the slot machines!!!!!

I found this statement on the Princess site which to me, means they don't take cash at the casino. I'm cruising on the Crown in Feb. without a credit card and would like to know if my cash will be accepted ! There is also another area on their Website that states they do take cash and traveller's checks?!?!?!

Casino

Charges for obtaining chips and tokens in the casino are limited to $1,500 USD per day, up to a total limit of $5,000 USD per cruise and are only available if you have pre-registered a credit card with the Passenger Service/Purser's Desk for Express Check-Out. For inquiries, players should call 1-800-5CASINO (1-800-522-7466) or go to www.oceanplayersclub.com. Please note: There is a 3% processing fee applied to all casino room charges and cash advances. These advances are billed directly to your shipboard account.

This is just explaining an option that is available to you.

Believe me, cash is very welcome in the casino.

The bank system is very easy once you set it up.

If you want money charged to your sail/sign card there is a 3% transaction charge and you can charge up to $ 1500 per day. The charges show up as normal charges on your card statement so that your credit card company does not charge a cash advance charge. The 3% is for ship to cover the charges they pay to credit card companies.

For every $3 you play, you get 1 point on your players card. When you reach 1000 points you get $10 in cash, either cash or credits in your bank.

Let me see if I understand this; by only spending $3000, they give you $10 in cash? How generous. :D (Almost as good as bingo);) Nancy

It's no worse than having to cash out before moving to a new machine, whether it is coins or tickets. If you can master an ATM, you can master this system.

For those who find the technical challenge daunting, you can still put your bills in, and cash out coins if you wish. Using the card means that you don't have to interact with casino personnel at all, if that is your desire.

Oh Boy! I tried to figure this out before our last cruise and I'm still confused.

When using the slot machines (only, not a table), is there a 3% charge to get an advance using your credit card? I thought there was but some of you say there isn't?

if you do it through the slot machine, there is no charge at least I did not see any on my bill. If you go to the cage, there is a 3% charge. I'll double check and repost if I'm wrong here, but I didn't see any surcharges posted from the casino. It's very convenient; the ATM charges $6 on $200 so it gets it's 3% anyway.

The Indian casinos were the first to go paperless and then Vegas did the same. Now the cruise ships. I miss the coins in and the excitement of winning and hearing the coins drop into the tray. It was kind of a RUSH. I still play a little and it is easy just lacks the air of excitement that the coin method had for me.

I have never observed the paper ticket system on a cruise ship. We do have that system here in the CT casinos and in all the casinos in Vegas use them. They are convenient I admit. That being said, there is no problem with the card system on the cruise ship. If you are lucky enough to have money left on the last night, you get a notice in your cabin and they repeatedly page overhead not to forget to cash out. There is no hassle here and it's much to do about nothing really. Every time you put your PIN in, you will find a balance of what you have left. By the way, the paper tickets expire in 90 days in almost every casino I've been in, so chances are that you would not be able to take the ticket to the next cruise; the computers wipe out after each one. You also have the option of doing the old fashioned thing and feed the little bugger the coins and take coins back.

Exactly, very well put. They don't have TITO on cruise ships like they do in Las Vegas or other gambling venues. Don't fight the system, unless you like getting dirty hands from the change you have to scoop up, put in a bucket, and go to the cage.

Let me see.... that is a generous 0.33%

I believe it's a dollar per point.

If true..... we are now up to the real generous 1% :o
