CruiseAwayWithMe Posted March 16, 2012 #1552 Share Posted March 16, 2012 Ship - Eclipse Deck - 9 Cabin # - 9266 Class – 1A Starboard or Port Side - Starboard Bed near?(balcony or bath) – Bath Quiet Cabin – Yes Balcony View – Good view forward and straight to the bridge. Can't see aft due to being too far forward. I would have preferred 9270's view but it was already booked. It still was an excellent view. Balcony Size? Normal or oversized for class? - Oversize due to being on the hump. Was wind a problem? No If an aft cabin, was soot a problem? N/A Any specific problems with this cabin? None Any other comments? I would book a cabin more forward next time because I like to be closer to the gym and healthy eating area. The aft elevators are crowded because that is where all the food is primarily located. Balcony View – Good view forward to the bridge, good view back with minor obstruction of cleaning ladder a few rooms away but this is not a problem....more to think about for photographs tbh. Balcony Size? Normal, no overhang and glorious sunshine to enjoy Was wind a problem? Not a real problem provided you closed the door with card or something to force the worn seal on the bottom of the sliding door. The partition outside between our room and the disabled cabin to the left had card in place to stop rattling, this came out one night, minor irritant until I sussed it out.. If an aft cabin, was soot a problem? N/A Any specific problems with this cabin? None Any other comments? We suffered from motion sickness for the first time ever, this is our issue but it got a bit lively up there one night in high winds...

Anxious2cruise Posted March 21, 2012 #1559 Share Posted March 21, 2012 Deck - 8 Cabin # - 83471 Class – Sunset veranda Starboard or Port Side - Aft Bed near?(balcony or bath) – balcony Quiet Cabin (With comments on problems. Note if connecting. ) – Very quiet; no obvious "noise" from hallway, or above/below. I believe this is a connecting cabin. Balcony View - not obstructed. Lovely view over the wake of the ship. Balcony Size? Normal or oversized for class? - normal. Nice adjustable chairs that lean back and a small round table. No footrests. Was wind a problem? Only at sail-away (30 mph wind coming our direction); never an issue once at sea. If an aft cabin, was soot a problem? Not really; there was a little soot on the deck at times but the deck and furniture were routinely wiped down/washed down by the cabin attendants several times daily. Never noticed any smoke odor at all, and engines were very quiet! Any specific problems with this cabin? No- however you do need to be prepared for a lot of walking! You need to walk back to the middle of the ship to access elevators and stairs; pool and buffet restaurant are all the way aft, main dining room and theatre are all the way forward. Any other comments? Lovely cabin. A surprising amount of storage. Nice bathroom with shower with glass doors and built-in storage cabinets. Bed was comfortable; pillows- not so much! Note if connecting. ) – Very quiet location in the back of the ship. Rooms above and below. Balcony View - Give comments on view, noting if location of any obstructions was an issue. – GREAT view. Large balcony. Can only be seen from above if at the railing of the balcony. Balcony Size? Normal or oversized for class? - A little larger than some of the other aft C1's, but not the largest C1. Was wind a problem? Nope. Not at all. If an aft cabin, was soot a problem? No. They washed it down every day. Never noticed anything at all. Any specific problems with this cabin? Drawers in bathroom are tiny, but the shelves are great. There was plenty of storage. Great room in a great location. Some people find the walk to stairs/elevators too far. We saw it as exercise! :D Any other comments? Would book this room again.
sharks48 Posted March 29, 2012 #1561 Share Posted March 29, 2012 Deck: 11 Cabin: 1504 Class: AQ Starboard, Forward Bed near: bath Quiet?: Mostly, especially for being under the gym. Occasional thudding sound of dropped weight stacks. Otherwise, no problem [and I am very bothered by noise]. We were partially under the deck outside the gym, I believe. View: Partially obstructed by bridge, but wasn't a problem. Balcony size: normal Wind problem?: Not that we noticed. The wind will "whistle through", of course, if you have your balcony door open and open the cabin door. Specific problems? none Comments: It's a long way to the food venues - but that gives you lots of exercise! Very convenient for access to the spa pool, etc.
Elusive_Cruiser Posted March 30, 2012 #1562 Share Posted March 30, 2012 (edited) Deck - 12 (Resort) Cabin # - 2104 Class – C1 Starboard or Port Side - Starboard Bed near?(balcony or bath) – bath Quiet Cabin (With comments on problems. Note if connecting. ) – Mostly quiet Balcony View - Give comments on view, noting if location of any obstructions was an issue. – Excellent view from bow to aft Balcony Size? Normal or oversized for class? - normal Was wind a problem? no If an aft cabin, was soot a problem? Any specific problems with this cabin? Any other comments? I was concerned that due to the central location on the resort deck that foot traffic might be a problem. It was not! This cabin is an excellent location with great access to the pool and the Oceanview Cafe. There was some noise from the buffet above, but not enough to be of any concern. The elevators are just a few feet away, as was the ladies bathroom - no waiting for the bathroom in the cabin!! On the downside since it is so far away from any of the other venues (dining, casino, etc) using the stairs was more difficult, so we did alot less stairs than we normally would. Would absolutely book this cabin again. Edited March 30, 2012 by Pariciah correction

Normal or oversized for class? - Oversized, standard for S1 Was wind a problem? Rarely If an aft cabin, was soot a problem? Small amount of soot was visible along base of railing in gutter, but never an issue on the balcony itself. Furniture was always clean. Any specific problems with this cabin? None! Any other comments? TONS of space in the cabin. Love having the double view (aft and port). Only comment (and not a biggie), you may not get a lot of shade on the balcony depending on the direction of travel. So if you're looking for a shady balcony, you can't count on it here. kiwi_sparkles Posted April 3, 2012 #1569 Share Posted April 3, 2012 (edited) Deck: 11 Cabin: 1544 Class: AQ Starboard, Forward Bed near: Window Quiet?: Very quiet, didn't hear any noise from the salon above, or the elevators which were super close. The only noise came from 1546 shutting their cabin door. View: Good. Forward view partially obstructed by bridge in the distance but not really an issue as you can see above/below it Balcony size: normal Wind problem?: None. As others have said, you have to shut your balcony door properly else it will whistle. Specific problems? None Comments: Good location for the Mast Bar if you want to have a drink in your room (just up two flights or stairs). Quite a walk to the restaurants which was a good thing for us as I liked the exercise. Does not have the extra overhang like midship cabins so we got quite a bit of sunshine. Would definitely book this room again. Edited April 3, 2012 by kiwi_sparkles
tserface Posted April 5, 2012 #1570 Share Posted April 5, 2012 Deck - 9 Cabin # - 9251 Class – Concierge Starboard or Port Side - Port Bed near?(balcony or bath) – Balcony Quiet Cabin (With comments on problems. Note if connecting. ) – We never heard anything at all. Not even announcements unless we went out into the hallway. It could have connected to neighboring cabins, but we didn't since we didn't know the people there. We never heard anyone noise at all even with the door open. Balcony View - No problems with view. Only two comments. If you look back you see the hump cabin balconies so you lose part of that view and, of course, if you look down directly you see life boats, but the view is quite nice. Balcony Size? Normal or oversized for class? - Normal, really enjoyed the foot stools that come with the CC cabins. We sat out here a lot with our feet up just watching the sea go by. Was wind a problem? Not at all unless the balcony door is open and someone opens the front door then everything blows like crazy. If an aft cabin, was soot a problem? NA Any specific problems with this cabin? Nothing at all. We had to get used to the storage differences, but we found places to put everything. Any other comments? Incredibly beautiful ship and great room.

Traveller-man Posted April 10, 2012 #1573 Share Posted April 10, 2012 Enjoyed this cabin. Starboard side. On bump out facing the stern. No wind soot or any debris. Good size balcony with three chairs, 3' dia table and still plenty of room. Bed is next to window. Close to elevators but no noise. Would without and hesitation book this or the same positioned cabin on decks above.

Normal or oversized for class? - a bit smaller than others Was wind a problem? no If an aft cabin, was soot a problem? YES!!! made sitting outside a task and we eventually gave up after day 3 - deck was "cleaned" ONCE on day 2 by someone spraing a hose onto our deck from the suite next door, which luckily we had our balcony door shut otherwise our bed would have been soaked. Remained filthy from black soot rest of cruise - VERY DISAPPOINTING:mad: Any specific problems with this cabin? structure pole obstructs doorway into cabin which makes it quite difficult for staff to get room service trays and luggage in and out.
