Did your TA do anything nice for you?

Howdy...just wondering...when you book through a TA, has your TA ever sent you something in your room? Roses, wine, etc?

Mine gives me the best gift of all, GREAT prices, the lowest that can be found anywhere. Although occasionally a bottle of wine is nice and so are flowers, I would much rather have a discounted price then a gift.

We got a great price...then we were greeted with 2 bottles of wine and 4 6x8 photos onboard! Fun!

Aside from the good service she provides, my TA sends flowers to the cabin, which my wife really appreciates.

The TA I've used until recently sent either flowers or a bottle of wine (even after I'd said several times that I don't drink wine.) But the flowers are nice. The best one she sent was a coupon towards a massage. My daughter loved that one.

On my last cruise, my TA sent not only the standard coupon for a bottle of wine (compliments of the Agency) but he personaly sent a bottle of Champagne to the room all gift wrapped (he knew I was celebrating my birthday that week).

Great prices, good service, onboard credit and wine and pictures while on board. ( I used one of the coupons to surprise a CC memeber I met on board when I saw a particularly good photo of them) I love her!!

Most of the time - just a great price. I would rather have a TA give me a lower price than pay for extras such as flowers or wine (especially since I don't drink).

 

If I am booked into group space - I often get the extras (wine, chocolate covered strawberries, photos, coupon books, shipboard credit, etc..). Though I don't book a cruise date based on her group space.

We use a local TA who specializes in cruises. She sends a bottle of wine and a picture album with the agency name. She will not compete with prices I find on the net, but will do better than Princess and any other local agency. They also charge a fee to cancel. If there is some promotion available for a cruise we could get some onboard credit or a coupon book ~ but not always. Does this sound about standard?

My last TA was a jerk. She was getting ready to leave for her own cruise and managed to drop off our tickets as she was leaving town. She had been promising the tickets for 2 weeks. :eek: No card, no thank you, no nothing. She was a neighbor' sisiter. :rolleyes:

 

My new TA has yet to prove himself. We will sail in June, so I have only booked the cruise. We will see if I stay with him for any future cruises.

My local TA retired. She sent us bottles of wine, cabin credits, canapes, photo coupons, and gift baskets.

 

I booked our next cruise through an Internet TA. He got us a great price--$200 less pp than the major websites and $50 less pp than the nearest competitor. If he sends us something, that will be nice. But we can buy a couple bottles of wine and a couple of photos with the money he saved us.

Our wonderful travel agent sends us a shipboard credit so that we can treat ourselves to something we will enjoy. The agency has also sent wine on occassion.

Our last cruise, we got 2 free nights in the Sheraton in Ft. Lauderdale. Granted, there was the "catch" that it was a Timeshare pitch situation, but my husband told them we absolutely did not want to listen to a sales pitch. They said, "Fine - You don't have to" and didn't push it.

 

This cruise, besides the great price, we got a $75 credit per room and a break on the service fees.

Ummmmm, my TA had the most delicious cup full of pillow chocolates waiting for me in the room during my recent Zuiderdam b2b. Then, the second week, he sent me a coupon for $20 in casino chips.

 

LOL ... I don't gamble and I'm way to fat for the pillow chocolates. But, hey ... I enjoyed both gifts anyway ... and my dad got a nice HAL coffee mug outta the deal. :)

We still got $50 credit each, ended up w/ an upgrade (interior to outside w/ large window), bottle of wine, 2 free 6x8 photos and 2 coupon books.

No complaints here!

I started using internet TA after local TA never sent us anything, never even a great price, I always called her about price drops. We did 3 cruises with her, had 3 other couples start cruising and used her (they still do use her) and never even got a shipboard credit or even a cheap bottle of wine. Really liked her as a person but felt like we sent her a lot of business and never even got a thank you for any of it.

Besides the shipboard credits, my TA usually provides a car to take us and pick us up at the airport. On my next cruise, he is providing a room in Fort Lauderdale. Our plane comes in at 7:00 A.M. and he has paid for us to have a room to freshen up and rest before we board the ship. The hotel will also take us to the cruise dock. It will be nice to change clothes and relax after our all night flight.

On our recent cruise we received a free bottle of wine and 2 6X8 pictures. I wasn't expecting it at all! Especially with the deal my TA gave me. I'm using her from now on~ She's very attentive! I didn't expect that from an online TA. It's a nice touch. :)
