Vini d’Italia - $54.50

WOW, that is quit expensive. It's sad to say but I hope it fails or RCCL might bet the idea that people are willing to pay more. Does anyone know what the difference is between that and the much cheaper Giovanni’s Table ($10 lunch, $15 dinner)? By the name they both sound Italian.

Edit: I just noticed they have a cafe/free food in each area of the ship except Boardwalk. I wonder why they did not put some form of Cafe there. Could they have been concerned that a free boardwalk shop would essentially be a lower quality Johnny Rockets.

RCI is a joke. Way too many pay restaurants. I too hope they fail and fail miserably. It's a big ship and a lot if rooms to fill, good luck. With all the cut backs and extra charges you'd be a fool to go.

So if in oyur opinion RC is a joke, and you feel so badly about them, what are you even doing on this particular board. Oh yes thats it you got lost on your way to the Carnival or NCL boards, turn left at Moansville and straight on past Whinesalot and you should be back home with the complainers.

More pay restaurants seems to be the direction cruise lines are going. I was on Celebrity Solstice in February and they had 5 pay restaurants ranging from $5 to $35 pp.

There are enough free places to eat on board, I choose to go for those. I check out the menus and prices at all the pay restaurants, then go for the free stuff.

It wasn't entirely clear on the web site, but it looks like wine is included with Vini D'Italia which may justify the higher price. Still, probably too pricey for me. I'll probably try the Seafood Shack for lunch since I love seafood and it's a new and interesting offering.

I am dissapointed that so many of them are pay options.

I agree. I was initally very excited about booking this ship and all it had to offer, however, if everything is an additional cost to the already thousands I have paid (will pay when due), I am beginning to regret my choice. :(

By looking at the price for Vini d'Italia I bet it is the wine and dine program they started in Portofino which is excellent so that is not bad if it includes wine with the dinner.
