Jamiebearr Posted June 24, 2009 #28 Share Posted June 24, 2009 I figured I would throw my NO!!! in here too. I have made it to the airport where I might have barley made that flight, but I would never ever bet on it!

MNYTRPS2GO2 Posted June 24, 2009 #30 Share Posted June 24, 2009 Are you my daughter? I just had this conversation with her a few hours ago! I have a feeling you may be looking at the same flight she was looking at but a week earlier(FLL to PHL on SWA?).. NO!!
dippydoo Posted June 24, 2009 #31 Share Posted June 24, 2009 no way, don't forget you need to be at the airport at least 2 hours before hand. If your flight is 8:40am you would need to be there by 6:30. Don't forget the possibility of Customs being delayed.
BballinQT24 Posted June 24, 2009 #32 Share Posted June 24, 2009 I wouldn't even think to try it. There really is no way you would be able to make your flight. I would try to shoot for a time later in the day.

KruzPrincess Posted June 24, 2009 #35 Share Posted June 24, 2009 No! On one of my cruises, customs didn't let us off the ship until 8:30 AM or so. Too risky.
mamaboss Posted June 24, 2009 #36 Share Posted June 24, 2009 Sure would be nice if you could do that. I would love to get back home earlier in the day. I never book a flight home that leaves before 12:00 noon. Had problems with equipment on a cruise once and we did not get off until 45 minutes before flight was to leave. Way to close for me! I wondered about a 10:30 flight for next year but remembered that one incident and did not book it.
Psee Posted June 24, 2009 #37 Share Posted June 24, 2009 This past February coming off the Ruby we checked in at 8:15AM (Southwest curbside) and tried to get on the 8:45 flight but it was too close.

georoc01 Posted June 24, 2009 #39 Share Posted June 24, 2009 What's tough is when that is the only direct flight out of FLL that day. Likewise the week prior the only direct flight doesn't get in till 6:30pm. So for me, that leaves me flying in and out of Miami, where my flight arrives at 3pm and departs at 5:30pm. RaMar Posted June 24, 2009 #40 Share Posted June 24, 2009 Would you take a 8:40 am flight out of Ft Lauderdale to go home, usually the ship docks at 7am or earlier. TIA;) 8:40 a.m. No way that I could make it!

Langley Cruisers Posted June 25, 2009 #42 Share Posted June 25, 2009 Wow, 3 pages of "No" 's. Interesting - I guess one page isn't enough. ;) Anyway, OP already returned and posted she wasn't going to do it. Post #14 on the first page is hers. Today she booked a return flight from West Palm Beach for the Monday after we return to port. If the fare goes down for Sunday she'll rebook and get a credit. My husband and I are driving down the week before and staying an extra week so she won't have any additional lodging or transportation expenses. She had already booked her departure into Orlando where we will spend a few days precruise...
