Fabulous! Too bad that it was cold and rainy when we arrived to HG on our cruise a few years ago. The calving was a bit harder to see, but still exciting!

We saw a similar event this last May at the Hubbard Glacier ... but wow, we didn't catch it in a video like you did. Great shot!!

One of the most exciting things I've ever seen was the glacier calving as I was taking a picture. It was truly a "Thank you God" event!! The wave is quite something isn't it? We were on one of the smaller boats and it was frightening and exciting at the same time. Thanks for sharing....I only regret that I wasn't shooting movie. :D

I think it would be very scary to be on a smaller boat, closer up. You really get a sense of how powerful nature can be.

We had great weather for September in Alaska, with sun most days. Hubbard Glacier was cold but it was not THAT cold that we would have to stay inside.
