Cabin - 7613

Inside cabin sideways layout.

We love the layout of these cabins and have had them on Vision and Splendour.

7613 was above the Schooner bar and we could hear the piano player so well at night the words were clear!! Also during the day we could here the trivia quiz.

Fortunately we do not go to bed too early ,the music at night finished by 11.30pm ish. and during the day we were out but if you like to take a nap in the day and are a light sleeper the cabin could be an issue.

Starboard or Port Side - Port

Quiet Stateroom? (With comments on problems) – No. There was a fan than ran all the time. I pointed this out to housekeeping and was told it was from the ships engine. In the bathroom you could hear the people in the cabin next door. The room creaked like an old hardwood floor.

Starboard or Port Side Starboard

Was stateroom a connecting stateroom? No.

If an aft cabin, was soot a problem? - no aft cabin so no soot.

Everything else in the cabin is very good, lots of space and usb plugs.

Ship: Brilliance of the Seas

Deck 7

Stateroom # 7108

Stateroom category E1

Starboard or port Port

Quiet stateroom? - some noise from the Centrum as it is first cabin in the hall. Noise goes away after 10:45 and it's quiet after that. No noise at all from the elevators

Connecting? No

Balcony view: this is a big balcony being on the hump. The view below is obstructed due to the lifeboat covers. Great view straight out

Bed placement is by the window, makes the room feel spacious.

No specific problems, we would get this cabin again.

Ship - Anthem of the Seas

Deck - 13

Stateroom # 13240

Stateroom Category - Spa Junior Suite Port Side

Quiet Stateroom - For the most part. We were under The Living Room (teen hang out) and heard some thumping/running around/music two evenings when we retired earlier than usual but it didn't last too long (curfew is at 1 am for those under 18; this place is for those 12-17). We also heard what was likely cleaning going on one morning. The benefits of the stateroom location far outweighed the times we heard noise from above.

Was stateroom a connecting stateroom ? - No

Balcony size? - Somewhat on the small side for what we've come to expect from Junior Suites but not dinky by any stretch. We were on the bump out directly under the "M" and "of the" sign above us. Great view, no over hang in this area that others in other stateroom on Deck 13 have mentioned.

Was wind a problem? - No.

Any specific problem with this cabin ? - Only that it took us a few days to figure out that the handle to the sliding door had to be in the locked and upright position in order for the A/C unit to register the stateroom as "occupied" and thus operate. We were a little toasty for a while! There was no signage anywhere in the room that said this was necessary (we did know the door had to be closed).

Any other comments? - Great location, very close to elevators/stairs. Didn't hear any noise for the hallways. Convenient to The Windjammer and Pool Deck. Quite the haul walking up the stairs from the gangway on Deck 3, though! The room itself was nicely appointed; we liked the modern decor and found it a pleasant change from Royal's typical pink/green/yellow oak/heavy curtains that we've found on every other ship we've been on.

Lots of neat technoid stuff like the lights being powered by the Sea Pass card (hint: any loyalty card/credit card will do the trick), the large TV, lots of outlets and places to charge cell phones, Kindles, etc. The bathroom was split with a commode and basin in one and the soaking tub and rain shower and another basin in the other. This is what made it a "Spa JS". It was ok; very modern, but, the doors kept ramming into each other and, well, I prefer the standard JS bathrooms. Plenty of space to hang clothes in the closet (not a walk in) plus drawers and cubbies. Our luggage fit easily under the bed (a first!)

Ship - Anthem of the Seas

Deck - 7

Stateroom # - 7514

Stateroom Category – DO - Obstructed

Starboard or Port Side - Starboard

Quiet Stateroom? (With comments on problems) – No noise from outside the cabin. No foot traffic as it's at the very end of the hallway. Can hear neighbors on the balcony only on one side as the other side of the balcony is a solid wall.

Was stateroom a connecting stateroom? - No

Balcony View - Give comments on view, noting if location of any obstructions was an issue. – Category DO Cabin but the view was not obstructed. This is a cove balcony.

Balcony Size? Normal or oversized for class? - Normal size

Was wind a problem? - Not as much as an open balcony. It is somewhat protected from the elements being inside the hull.

If an aft cabin, was soot a problem? - N/A

Any specific problems with this cabin? - None

Any other comments? - We were curious about the cove balconies and wanted to try something different. The balcony was very private. This room is all the way forward at the end of a very long hallway.

Ship - Voyager of the Seas

Deck - 8

Stateroom # - 8577

Stateroom Category – PR Promenade Stateroom

Quiet Stateroom? (With comments on problems) – No, every night loud music and party people screaming and singing till 1-2am in the morning on Deck 5 Royal Promenade.

Was stateroom a connecting stateroom? - No

Any specific problems with this cabin? - Yes, shower floor made strange noises, no cold or warm water, only hot, hotter, boiled (the plumber was not able to fix it, one day he checked the water temperature and it was 50 degree). Problem with the vacuum air for the toilet flush - some nights we had a high tone noise in the bathroom.

Any other comments? - Never ever again a cruise onboard Voyager of the Seas!

Ship - Majesty of the Seas

Deck - 10

Stateroom # - 1032

Stateroom Category – Grand Suite

Starboard or Port Side - Starboard

Quiet Stateroom? (With comments on problems) – Mostly quiet. Johnny Rockets was above us and there was some noise like moving of chairs/tables around 11pm. It wasn't bothersome for us. The hallway was pretty quiet. On the Majesty, all the Junior and Grand suites are together, so it wasn't a hallway used by everyone to get around.

Was stateroom a connecting stateroom? - No

Balcony View - Give comments on view, noting if location of any obstructions was an issue. – We had a great view, no obstructions. However, we did not have much of an overhang and so on our one rainy day, it was hard to use the deck. The other Grand Suites (1034/1036/1038) all had a larger overhang due to the layout of deck 11. While this might have obstructed your view of the sky, it would have kept the rain off of you.

Balcony Size? Normal or oversized for class? - The balcony was normal for the class on this ship. Majesty is older and smaller than most other ships so the balcony was smaller than some others we've had.

Was wind a problem? - No

If an aft cabin, was soot a problem? - N/A

Any specific problems with this cabin? - One unique problem, and it's good to know about. We were leaving our room one day and my wife noticed the door did not lock. We told our room steward and he got maintenance up right away. We had to make a trip back to the room a few minutes later and it was already being worked on. Apparently, the locks have some batteries for power (I never thought about how the card reader worked or what powered the little green/red lights) and ours had ran out of juice. He changed the batteries and it worked great. I guess I'll have to be a bit more vigilant in checking our door when we leave.

Any other comments? - While the bathroom was big, there was no "medicine cabinet" with the mirror. As such, we had no little shelving units to put various toiletries in, as we are used to on other ships. There was a big shelf behind the sink, behind the toilet tank that we set everything on. I'd rather have a medicine cabinet.

And, there wasn't a lot of headroom for me when I was showering. I am only 6' 1", so not that tall. I believe I've had more head room in other rooms on most other ships. But you have to step up a couple of inches from the main floor into the bathroom, and then you step up into the tub to take a shower, so you lose 3-4 inches overall. That was a little disappointing.

Ship - Fredpm of the Seas

Deck - 6

Stateroom # - 6321

Stateroom Category – PR

Starboard or Port Side - Port

Quiet Stateroom? (With comments on problems) – Very quiet. No noise from GS directly below or Promenade.

Was stateroom a connecting stateroom? - Yes

Balcony View - n/a

Balcony Size? Normal or oversized for class? - n/a

Was wind a problem? - No

If an aft cabin, was soot a problem? - N/A

Any specific problems with this cabin? - No problems.

Any other comments? - Perfect room for solo, closet is somewhat smaller for two cruisers. Keep hanging clothes to a minimum. Four small drawers under the TV. Four shelves in closet. Bathroom was very adequate. Bed and bedding was VERY comfy. Foam top mattress. I requested foam topper from special needs and it was on the bed at arrival. Great location in that you are down one flight to Promenade and MDR.
