Adonia question

I looked on FAQ and they said they had no casino but said all ships have slot machines. But then they listed ships which did not include Adonia. Thanks for replies.

It could be that the FAQ has not yet been updated to reflect Adonia's return to the P&O fleet from Fathom.

I'm sure I saw on another site, it may have been P&O's Facebook page, that there would still be no casino on Adonia. Previously when Adonia was with Princess part of what is now Anderson's Lounge was the casino and when it was transferred to P&O the casino was removed and Anderson's was restored to a fantastic lounge with very comfortable seating. As far as I've been able to discover one of the only differences is that the Italian restaurant, I think it was called Sorrento, has been changed to The Glasshouse. However, we'll soon see!

She does indeed have a Glass House - can't wait to use it. We love the wine flights and will be having one on the first day at sea when we board her on the 4th August on the way to Seville etc.

She is a gorgeous ship, with a wonderful atmosphere and we're really pleased she's come back.

No, thank God, she does not. Hopefully she never will, it would spoil her gentile atmosphere.

I ofter cruise and sometimes like half an hour on the slot machines before bed. I do consider myself genteel, ladylike and courteous. Hope I don't spoil the atmosphere haha

We are aboard Adonia next year for 35 days, B2B. Ah, so they have the Glasshouse, :')surely not a military prison on board @ Colchester Glasshouse? :D

As for no casino/gambling, suits us, we do not imbibe, save for the odd game of bingo on a sea day, one would assume Adonia still has ye olde bingo? Or do you call it 'Housey' in the UK?

Hi there!

We do indeed call it bingo, but not sure they have it on board Adonia. They certainly have quizzes which a lot of passengers enjoy participating in, although it's not our sort of thing I'm afraid.

She's a lot smaller than the other P&O ships and has a different atmosphere because of it. We've been on her just a couple of times (before she went over to fathom) and loved her and we're only both 48 yrs old. She doesn't have a theatre, but she does have a show lounge and, in my opinion, the team who perform shows are very good (or at least they were!). They used to do a short play on one of the afternoons which was very good indeed and, if they do it again, shouldn't be missed.

I'm sure you will have a wonderful time on her. :)

We have booked our first P and O cruise on Adonia in December round the caribbean as we prefer the smaller ships she sounds perfect I am keen to try the Glass house and I had read they have some sort of cinema but that may be on deck. Hope you enjoy your cruise please post something about her on your return as there is no up to date information on her.

I've also read there is a 'cinema'. I believe you are right and it is outside. Our cruise is in August and I'm pretty sure we will get good weather so should be able to see it in action.

There are a few cruises before ours so hopefully someone will post a review of her before ours, but I shall certainly be doing one.

I look forward to reading your review, we are very excited about trying out Adonia hopefully in the caribbean the weather will be kind to use the cinema,

I seem to remember that when I was on Adonia the cinema was indoors, in what was also the card room or something like that. But that may have been because my cruise was to Iceland, and even in summer it might have been a little chilly out on deck!

Perhaps because Cruise Critic don't make the roll call easy to find? Clicking on Find Your Roll Coll, selecting P&O in the Cruise Line drop-down list, and then looking at the drop-down list of P&O ships, Adonia is not included

Films were always shown in the card room, but it wasn't a particularly good venue. They have now created one outside. Whether they will keep it is another matter. Obviously cruising around the Caribbean it is a lot easier to run a cinema outside that it will be for them to run one outside when she is back over here so they may not continue it there and they may decide to move it back inside again. We shall have to see when we get on her in August.

So on Adonia have P&O created a 'Movies under the Stars (MUTS) like on Princess ships? Popcorn and Rugs supplied?:halo:

I am on Adonia in June....I will try and do a " live" blog. We have never been on her before so will be a new experience. Mind you, looks like we are cruising alone as the roll call is conspicuously devoid of entries!

Would be great as we are on Adonia for 34 nights, B2B next year.

Well, we were on Azura's Maiden Voyage back in 2010 when she had the first P&O outside film screen (Seacreen) they provided dedicated covers for the loungers, blankets, and popcorn & ice cream, so, yes it should be the case. :D
