speciality restaurant question

Our experience is that departure night is a good time to book a specialty restaurant, on whatever ship.

That's not necessarily also true but it has been for us on a dozen cruises on the "R" and "O" ships.

thanks everyone....excellent news.

Mr Wonderful has a birthday our first day on board and likes Polo so hopefully reservations won't be a problem!

thanks again! c

Have you tried booking online? That's safest, especially if you want a table for 2. (Book an early table if so, although on boarding day that might not be a problem.)

Otherwise, try to book once you are on board. I didn't notice if you indicated when you are sailing ...

Mura,

We can't book online yet; we're on the 2016 Around the World Jan 4-July1.

I may drop a note to our TA and see if he can do this for us since reservations don't open until November--I don't know the date, perhaps Nov 4?

I really don't care about other dates since we will have plenty of opportunities in those 180 days!

thanks everyone!

Clearly plenty of time, but as others have said -- it would be very unusual for the first night to be booked before you have a chance. If you want a table for 2 at the busiest time of the evening, that might be more difficult ...

I realize it's a special night for you and you want to be SURE.
