This is very sad especially as you saw it. RIP to the pilots. I bought DH a very good pair of binoculars for Christmas. Mainly for bushwalks (& for me to take to Alaska) but I had sudden thought yesterday as I watched another plane pass over us - DH could take up plane spotting as a hobby (or maybe I will….).

You have raised a fine son. I am sure he appreciates and respects your gift. It’s nice as parents to be in a position to provide him with a safe and practical car and one that he won’t have to spend money on to fix up due to some unexpected issue( & bonus it’ll impress the girls) 😉 Congratulations to Owen.

🤣 - funny but sadly true. We’ve got TS coming here this month for concerts in Sydney & Melbourne. It’s Beatlemania or should I say One Direction mania (again) A school in Queensland asked students to advise them if they were travelling interstate for one of the concerts - so the school could set the timings of major exams around the large number of expected absences as students fly interstate to the concerts. Parents including high profile journalists are being scammed online in their last minute desperate bid to obtain tickets for their daughters. The concert venues are putting out new & stricter rules for attendees and trying to stamp out parties in car parks near the venues for those who couldn’t get tickets. DH asked me if DD was going to be watching the game for TS. I said of course not! Then I asked her and she said “actually mum, we all are here”

If you and Gary are interested in WWII history, “battlebox” at Fort Canning Hill is an underground bunker where the decision to surrender to the Japanese was made. We had a small guided tour and it was fascinating. Soon after we visited they closed the site for renovations. I just checked the website - they currently have a soft opening - so there are reviews online. Official opening next week.

Visit the National Orchid Garden within the Botanic Gardens Go to Gardens by the Bay. Take the free short open bus tour first to get an overview of the site. Go in the afternoon and explore the indoor Cloud Dome & the indoor Flower Dome. Then Eat at the onsite hawker market - Satay by the Bay - so you can stay for the evening light show at the Supertrees. An absolute must see. Go to Clarke Quay for an early dinner then go on a bumboat ride - you cruise under the illuminated bridges & see the Spectra light fountain show outside the Marina Bay Sands Hotel. Ride the cable car to Sentosa Island. Lots to see and do there for the day. Catch the monorail back to Singapore. Have dinner at one of the hawker markets that is closest to your hotel. Good cheap food. Nice atmosphere.

This morning - Posted by admin of our VV forum that all 3 legs from Sydney have been cancelled. New route will go via Africa. TAs have just been informed so I would assume cruisers impacted will be informed directly very soon. Check to the VV website for more details of this announcement. -
Good morning. We are enjoying a pleasantly cooler spell this week. Been lovely to have days with greatly reduced humidity. Dad’s German friends flew into Brisbane and hired a camper van to slowly roadtrip to down to Sydney. They said last night as they stopped in the Coffs Harbour region that it was the first night that they slept without sweating….

Purchasing Wine and Beer

In the Sydney area Coles supermarkets have liquorland within the same building or immediately adjacent, selling beer, wine & spirits. -
Hearing health is so important - I have always stressed this to my daughter who is a frequent concert goer. A while back she bought the type the ear plugs suggested by @dpostman Thanks too for the recommendation @bobmacliberty. DH on the other hand prefers to use the wax type. He finds wax more comfortable. He only goes to a concert very infrequently but uses them when taking Max in the car. Max gets overexcited for the first 10mins of the drive and has a very loud bark. @Ocean Boy I think you should send that letter. Coming from you the letter will carry weight and hopefully action will be taken. Having your hearing impacted overnight from a RC performance is just not acceptable.

We are cruising May 2024. Very little difference in price between our ship tours and the private tours. -

As a full-time worker lacking in AL atm, the short 3-4 cruises over a weekend are very appealing to me atm. Especially as they return early Monday morning and I can then head straight into the office.
