  1. I can't help, but wish you good luck getting it straightened out. Princess appears to take no responsibility for the accuracy of their shore excursion descriptions. On our current cruise, 3 of our booked excursions had their times changed without advance notice, and one eliminated the lunch which was supposed to be included. All we got from the shore excursion desk was a polite smile and shrugged shoulders.
  2. Was in the Crown Grill on Crown Princess 2 nights ago. The round loaf with the garlic/cheese was sort of warm, but the butter /cheese garlic was a congealed blob that was very unappetizing. Fortunately the rest of the meal made up for this fail.
  3. Well, it applies to 59 different countries. But since this is the board for travel info for Canadians.....
  4. I'm not sure how you missed this since it's been on the Princess main page since Friday: https://boards.cruisecritic.com/topic/2893149-over-800-people-have-covid-on-the-majestic-princess/ Our Crown cruise is categorized as an enhanced voyage so all pax had to provide proof of Vax plus a negative test before boarding. While masks weren't mandatory, the captain asked everyone to mask when indoors for the first 3 days, and the great majority complied. Then everyone was tested again on the morning of the 4th day. All crew have been masked. Once the test results were in, the Capt. rescinded his mask recommendation, and the number of pax who remained masked dropped dramatically, while most all of the crew remained masked. Since we still have 23 days to go on this cruise, DH and I will continue to mask when indoors and in crowds. I can't control anyone else's actions, but I can do what I can to mitigate our chances of getting ill.
  5. Since some countries have different requirements for port visits vs other types of entry, the country's embassy or consulate would be the place to seek the most accurate and up to date information.
  6. Of course Princess doesn't "force the issue" of dress on formal nights . Few, other than Cunard, do. However it does appear, anecdotally, that more formal attire is seen more often on some cruises than on others. We had our first "formal night" last night on the Crown 28 day sailing. The vast majority had made at least some effort to elevate their everyday MDR attire. I was actually a little surprised how many gentlemen were wearing tux or dinner jackets. A blazer or similar seemed to be more common. I did see a few gowns, but more ladies wore less formal long dresses or cocktail dresses, sparkly tops with dressy pants. Outside the dining rooms there were still a minority in t shirts and shorts.
  7. Reading this, I keep having visions of Goldilocks trying out the beds. Maybe OP got Papa Bear's bed.
  8. I. Don't. Care. Either way, I'm paying the same. Not my problem if there are some people who don't do their due diligence and learn what is or is not included in their cruise fares- which very much depends on where they live and what lines they are sailing on. These are the people who need a TA to explain things to them.
  9. Nor should they. The combinations of international passengers with passports from hundreds of countries going to dozens and dozens of different ports results in numbingly huge combinations and permutations of requirements. Perhaps a couple of the luxury lines have the staff with the time and knowledge to handle this due to the comparatively smaller number of pax they have to deal with. But no major line wants to devote that much manpower, and possibly risk liability exposure, to do this. They make it clear that it is the responsibility of each passenger to seek out the correct information from the source countries they want to travel to.
  10. But how does he dress on formal nights on cruises? Hmm? Not sure why your level of trust in a doctor has anything to do with MDR dining attire.
  11. Thanks for clarifying. Without an emoji, or some other hint, it can be difficult to discern intention. Perhaps because many, many, similar stunts have been attempted in the past. The security people have seen it all before.
  12. Your assigned dining room will be Luminae. Blu can only be accessed by suite pax on a space available basis. You would need to ask your Maitre d to arrange this for you. Millie doesn't have a Murano, which is a shame, but Tuscan Grille is nice. Sushi on 5 is a nice change if you like Japanese food - they serve more than just sushi. Le Petit Chef was a one and done for us- more as a novelty dining experience than anything else. You should be contacted by the shoreside concierge in the weeks before embarkation for any special requests. You can let them know what liquor bottles you want, and what you would like in the mini bar.
  13. If price point is the line in the sand, then you may find that the luxury, or even "luxury light" like Oceana, are a step too far. But time of year can also make a really big difference in price. Perhaps look at cruises outside the peak demand times. If you can tolerate a somewhat larger ship, (not a nega ship) but with an ambiance and design esthetic that doesn't scream party all night long, you might consider Celebrity, HAL, or Princess. Celebrity suites come with some pretty sweet perks, even at their entry level. And even their non suite life may hold a lot of what you are looking for, without the high price tag.
  14. Forced disembarkation seems to be decreasing due to the gradual relaxation of Covid restrictions by different jurisdictions. Is this the trend that you say is worrying you?
  15. I do both. It depends on the item. I roll and use packing cubes for underwear/socks/bathing suits, and for t shirts, shorts and capris. For dresses, shirts/blouses, long pants and jackets I either fold or use a modified bundling method. The trick is to use the straps to snug everything down when I'm finished packing. It's often the moving and shifting around during transport that results in the worst wrinkles.
  16. As noted, there are exceptions. It pays to read the entire thing, and not just the title and first couple of sentences. Is this nit picking? Could be pretty important to novices who take what they read here at face value. The title and first post are inaccurate and misleading.
  17. You aren't wrong , but Air Canada, United, and Lufthansa have their flights out of T1. But aren't we talking about going through security for Toronto departures? So it doesn't really matter about destination ( except for the additional hassle of Customs preclearance for US flights, which is a separate discussion)
  18. Look forward to seeing you next week !!
  19. One pair of walking shoes , one pair of sandals, one pair of evening shoes, one pair of flip flops. If it's a cool climate cruise I substitute a second pair of closed toe shoes for the sandals.
  20. Nope. The mini-fridge in our cabin works just fine, and the bars never seem to have a shortage of cold drinks. I have an insulated bottle for ice water when I leave the ship for excursions.
  21. Im perfectly calm, thank you. Your post doesnt merit anything else. Could not tell your intentions from what you had written. Perhaps the next time you dont want your post to be taken at face value, you would consider using an emoji.
  22. Who are you going to sue? The tour company or the insurance company? In what jurisdiction? Based on what data? Do you really think the insurance companies don't have the numbers to justify their limits on policies? They've got huge teams of actuaries behind them.
  23. Well, you wouldn't be a guest. You would be just another paying passenger, albeit one recognized by most of the crew. Yes there are such people. Google has a couple of pages of articles on the subject. Plus several videos.
