  1. We don't book suites either - we do book Junior Suites on Royal.
  2. I am waiting for my TA on a quote for an SC.........I am guessing that it should be pretty close??
  3. Good plan!!!! Typically we book when the first new itineraries are published to get the cabin category and location of choice. I need a lot of shade because of skin cancer damage - so I either get the location of need or I simply don't book.
  4. I thought that maybe there would be some "Welcome to Port Canaveral" sale pricing..............I guess that I am just naïve.
  5. Is the ship "sold out" yet????? Perhaps these are "fishing" rates.........see who will bite and then adjust???
  6. The hotels in the Cocoa Beach area seem to be full and OMG the prices too. Cruise packages sell pretty fast. I am finding it less costly to use a shuttle service round trip from the Treasure Coast then booking a cruise package at the near port hotels.
  7. When is the bad news going to be announced????? Maybe it has already happened and we won't know until we board and ZAP.........somethings gone!!!!!!!!
  8. We have essentially moved on from Royal because of their direction towards a much younger demographic and family orientation. The new builds are like a floating Six Flags. The new Icon Class is a glimpse into the future of RC cruising............unfortunately not my vision of "cruising". I was happy to see Celebrity come to PC to offer a more adult / traditional cruise experience - Royal, Carnival, Disney and MSC can provide the "family fun & frolic". I just don't think that "X" can provide all of the WOW that the kids and teens look for. Now there is a choice for us "older crowd". I just wish that "X" will eventually bring an Edge Class ship to PC.
  9. RedIguana............I agree. For us on the Treasure Coast - I-95 can be a nightmare to Miami - we won't drive it!!!! FLL is almost as bad from West Palm Beach South - PC is much better heading North. Tampa is 3 hours and isn't too bad except for some of the 2 lanes on FL60 between Vero Beach and I-4 by Lakeland.
  10. Agree...........there is a gap from the "introductory - mainstream lines" and the "premium / luxury lines" and that was filled well by "X", HAL and Princess...........if "X" abandons / neglects this more mature segmentation, then their loyal customers will gravitate to these other brands. Time will tell.
  11. There sure is a bunch of us "Seniors" here in Florida - it is still a huge cruising segment to ignore. I cannot believe all of the new construction for single family homes, apartments, condo's and duplex developments............quite a few 55 and older.
  12. I am so happy that Celebrity is coming to PC - for us it is a better drive (going North on I-95) with less traffic to fight like around FLL and MIA. It would have been great if "X" was offering 10 & 11 night itineraries like Beyond at FLL. I am hoping that "X" will offer a Bermuda itinerary and maybe stop in Charleston. Are you listening Celebrity??????
  13. We are almost exclusively Celebrity now. We have the Beyond for 12/2 & 12/13 for 2024 - maybe see you in Fort Lauderdale??
  14. The diet seafood au gratin for me and the coconut shrimp for Mean Mary.............MMMmmmmmmmmm
  15. Sounds great!!!!! We are looking at January of 2025 as we are booked through 2024 and a couple in 2025
  16. The restaurants and hotels around the port must be celebrating. We always enjoyed having an early dinner at one of the restaurants and watching the ships leave port. Most all of the hotels have cruise packages..........better book rooms early!!!!
  17. Us too - have our finger crossed that there won't be any changes.
  18. We are on the Summit this September for a B2B out of Boston (11 night Canada & New England itinerary) - maybe get some insights.
  19. We are about 1.5 hours from PC and 3 hours to Tampa - we do that but avoid the 1.5 hour drive to FLL and won't drive to MIA. I wonder which terminal "X" will use? PC is pretty busy during the Fall & Winter cruising season.
  20. I am not an economist either but over my lifetime I have seen this same movie before. There is a credit bubble that's expanding and look out!!!!
  21. We have a couple of Royal on the books (older bookings) but we are doing several on Celebrity for the itineraries (September - Canada & New England) and (February on the Constellation for Mardi Gras). Others are on the Beyond - love the "E-Class" ships and the demographics.
  22. Pricing is crazy high but the ships are sailing full. Our cruising budget is about the same but that equals half the number of cruises. Just wait for the next economic bubble to bust!!!!
