  1. Yep, I think it was a note pad right? Had note paper in it.
  2. Diamond and 3 cruises this year so far, 2 were luggage tags, 1 was koozies
  3. It is totally weird how they figure it. First cruise out this year decided to spend some time at slots. We normally don't go to casino or if we do we might drop $20 one time and be done. This cruise I spent maybe $200 and played over a few days time with that. We found some slots we really liked. Hubby played side by side with me and had pretty much same number of points when we got off. I started getting casino offers, he did not. Was able to save $800 on a future booking with the first offer I got. I am sure there is some formula, but what it is, I have no idea.
  4. They have used 4 digit pins for years now. It is a security feature. If you book through a TA they may have one assigned that they would know. Usually when you book direct with Carnival they will ask you when you make the booking to give them a 4 digit pin for security reasons. I have a GREAT PVP that knows all my likes and wants... every booking I make he assigns the same number automatically because he knows what it is for me. He also doesn't require me to give it to him every time I call. On the rare occasion I have to speak to someone else they ask me for it though.
  5. Been there lol! I have 3 extra cruises in more than hubby due to some mother daughter trips, and right before Covid hit he was set to turn Diamond on our Panama cruise we were schedule on like 2 months away, he had to wait 2 years until we started cruising again this year. When you get that close you can taste it 😜
  6. If it is not available before you cruise, go down on the first day to the dinning room and ask to be changed to the time you want - flash them your Platinum card (like have it out in your hand when you walk up so they see it). They do try to make arrangements to change you if possible and the higher the color of your card, the better response you usually get in my experience. I just went to YTD so I could go whenever I wanted, much better IMHO.
  7. NO more on board booking cruises, but I have seen special "welcome home" offers in my profile when I returned after a cruise. Back of the ship always has more vibration. You can feel it even on higher decks (like when sitting eating in dinning rooms etc. several floors higher than 2). Some ships it is pretty bad, others not as much. Some ships I have been on it is a full on "shutter" when you are aft.
  8. Don't hold your breath for the Wagyu... 3 sailings so far this year and all 3 was told it wasn't available. I think they aren't buying it to save $$$ May be phasing it out too, not sure.
  9. Yes, they had the Suite passengers in their own waiting area. They were using the lounge area that used to be for Diamond and Platinum.
  10. So, with a good PVP and if you are going to spend more for the room (even a small amount more) then I can say firsthand possibly. Experience has taught me a really good PVP can get normal change fees waived for a lot of things - ESPECIALLY when I want to spend more money for the booking.
  11. I am not sure about other ports, but we have cruised 3 times out of Miami this year. The first two times they did not have the normal lounge open that we used to wait in, but they did have a specific area sectioned off in the main seating area marked just for Diamond and Platinum. This last time though (last week), they did not even have this! Just sat wherever. We have been A1 every time and went right after suites and weddings. Also, one other note, last week they weren't even adhering to their arrival times which floored me. We were in the first arrival time frame and there were a bunch of people being passed through the line and told to go. They weren't even looking at boarding times. I saw times on peoples passes that ranged from our time all the way to 2 hours later and everything in between. When we got in the building it was already 1/4 full, and again we had the first arrival time. Created a bit of a nightmare for boarding. At least the timed entries made it slightly better, but they were just flat out letting anyone that flashed their boarding pass in.
  12. Don't forget, if you book on the first night you get a free bottle of house wine. Note though: Make sure you ASK them when you are seated about it. Our waitresses never even mentioned it. I knew, and didn't care because we aren't wine drinkers, but I thought it wrong they didn't offer for those that might not know. I heard another waiter a few tables offer speaking to all his tables when sat about it, ours just did not.
  13. Not exactly true. Just sailed last week and I had $1100 total in OBC. It depends on what type of OBC it is and what it is from. When I boarded, I checked my statement to make sure all OBC was there. Part of it was showing as non-refundable and part showed refundable to me. It was split about 60/40 and it was from different things. I ended up spending it all and then some, so it didn't matter. I did note the non-refundable was depleted first as I made purchases before the refundable amount was... so that was good. If I hadn't spent so much, I would have actually got part of it back.
  14. Correct, it is actual days sailed (not what was paid for). We actually got an extra day one time because of hurricane rolling in. A 7 days cruise turned into a 8 day. They brought the previous cruise in a day early and boarded our cruise a day early so we could get back out before it hit. We got the full 8 days points even though we only paid for a 7 day cruise.
  15. This! One other note to the contrary, if you have OBC then wait until you get on and you can use your OBC toward it instead of paying out of pocket. A lot of cruisers have OBC right now. I usually prepay for these reasons, but if I sail with OBC, then I wait until I am on board and let my OBC go toward it. Had $1100 OBC on this last cruise and paid for tips and a nice pair of diamond earrings!🤪
  16. NO connecting rooms. The walls are thin enough, but the door transfers every noise. Even normal volume of talking if they are standing close to their door you can hear every word. If you get lucky and have a quiet neighbor might not be a problem, but IMHO more and more these days I seem to be sailing with completely inconsiderate people around me. I just think no one cares anymore about anything but themselves (yelling, fighting, blaring personal radios, TV's etc. at all times of the day and night). I swear their isn't a modicum of manners left in the world anymore.
  17. Just got off the Sunrise, and oddly enough Cucina could still be purchased before sailing. It was not however open for dinner once on board. So the fact it "can" be bought, I wouldn't hold my breath on. I do believe they had it open for lunch as a pasta bar though, didn't eat it, but I am pretty sure it was. Also, as a side note, they did update their menus with items from Cucina Del Capitano available every night in MDR (they were in a special section free of charge like the "dija ever's.") It was the same 2 things on every menu every night. Chicken Parm, and a dish that was pasta, shrimp and a cream sauce (not alfredo, but similar). That made me nervous about how long this will carry on, if they updated the menus to add some items from Cucina. I had read they were going to do this since they cut out Cucina... but if they spent the time and money to update menus, wondering how long this will really last. I want to eat there on our Sept cruise for dinner. I personally love dinner there, but think their pasta and lunch time they offer for free is awful.
  18. Thanks! Been too long since I did that in between 6 dayer. I did a search on Carnival's site and only found this: 1. What do I wear? By and far, this is the question I hear the most often. First, check your itinerary to see how many formal nights you’ll have. Men can wear a suit or tux – but they can also get away with slacks and a button down shirt and tie. Women can wear a nice dress (think “Sunday Best”) or go ALL OUT in a gown fit for prom, it’s up to you! Dinner in the formal dining room is business casual with the exception of formal night. Pretty much anything goes except for shorts, sandals and tank tops. And NO WHERE in the itinerary does it tell you formal nights so that is a joke.
  19. Not sure about 6 nights been doing 5 nights or less or 7 dayers for a while now........ 1 or 2 formals for 6 night?
  20. It is for use anytime you want to dine in a dining room - you just go in and select check in. It then alerts you when your table is ready with a little Carnival Fog Horn and a jingle on your phone and it tells you what table you are assigned to. You go down and walk up to the staff and show them your phone and go in. Usually there are large groups of people standing around outside who didn't do this, and had to do it once they got there and are waiting OR that the hostess has had to put on the waitlist because they don't have a phone or don't want to do it. You get to breeze past all those people. You may have to wait momentarily for a couple tables that are checked in ahead of you to be seated but just a couple minutes. SOOOO much better than the long lines. PS: You have 15 minutes to report for your table once notified so we basically just do it from our room or wherever we are on the ship and then hang out until we hear the fog horn.
  21. I haven't used it yet (3 cruises this year), just show them my Passport, Covid Card, and Booking slip and walk right through. Check in is maybe 2 minutes slower without. My thing is I just don't want to have another electronic thing I have to deal with and my personal info out their in an app if I don't have to. I think it just comes down to personal preference and what you like. Don't think it saves hardly any time to speak of or has any great benefit versus the old fashioned way.
  22. I thought you had to be a member, but was corrected earlier 🤪
  23. Just use your sail and sign card at the tables to charge your room (I think you can do this?), then you can go to a kiosk or customer service and apply gift cards. Easy Peasy We play slots all the time this way.
  24. Pasta Bolognese in Cucina Del Capitano on the Sunrise Anything in the Steakhouse Tempura Roll at the Bonsai Sushi Skillet Cake on Sea Days in Main Dinning Room
  25. We do a quick drop and I always make "contact" with the steward as we are coming in or going out and let him know what room we just did it in so they know it is ours.😉
