  1. You can also get 10% off Carnival cards through AARP and Citi Cards Citi Easy Deals (which is where I usually get all mine). Do keep in mind, while you can use these gift cards to pay for anything with Carnival before and while on board, if you have to cancel anything for any reason you will be reimbursed in Carnival gift cards as well. You will not get cash back, so once purchased your $ is tied to Carnival until it is spent.
  2. I do hope they aren't moving a little too quickly on this. Just to play devil's advocate. We know people are still getting it cruising even with all the precautions that were in place as far as requiring vaxxing and testing prior to sailing. One of our cruises we came home, and on the morning we left the ship my husband wasn't feeling well, sure enough got home and he tested and had it. I never got it, even being in the house with him. Could have come from the ship or the airplane ride down, or the hotel, or anywhere, who knows. But dropping the testing requirement for vaxxed AND letting unvaxxed on with a test all at the same time may just be a little too quick. Should have just dropped testing first and see how that went IMHO for at least a month or two. I know it is here to stay, and I take my own precautions and rely on no one else to keep me safe (sanitize everything, everywhere, ALL the time).... but there was some piece of mind knowing I was sailing with mostly all vaccinated passengers. Only because it is such a large group of people in such a confined space.
  3. We bring a large garbage bag and put them in there and spin it to twist it shut and throw it in one of the closets that we aren't using. One other thing I always do, last night I dump everything out on the bed and shake each piece (like snap it) before I pack it to make sure no little buggyboos come home with me just in case! LOL
  4. That has just always been their policy. If I had to guess, because they want to make sure the cruise is paid for based on ability to resell the room on short notice if need be. Shorter cruises would be way easier to sell last minute than long ones I would imagine.
  5. Oh my God that is too funny. My husband was just saying something about Skeet Shooting on a cruise ship (he cruised for the first time back in the eighties). He was saying, "Can you imagine that today, handing a loaded gun to all these random passengers."😂 He also said back then you HAD to wear a jacket and tie to dinner. And if you didn't have one, they had a table with ties and rack with jackets off to the side where you could borrow one to wear
  6. Ya ok, that's a bit of a crazy statement. I just went and looked at some Searbourn cruises and they are like 4K - 10K a person at first glance. We have been able to book a Suite on a Carnival 7-day cruise for $3500 or so for 2 People.
  7. Any of you all that have the offer can you back door the rest of us a link? I think if you go into the offer and cut and paste the website address it might work for others. I know in the past it hasn't showed up for us, but someone on the boards posted the link, and it worked like a back door and we were able to use it!
  8. Yep, me too. So happy just made it by 5 days for our family Sept 11th cruise! GUEST ADVISORY COVID-19 PROTOCOL UPDATES SAILINGS DEPARTING SEPTEMBER 6, 2022, THROUGH DECEMBER 31, 2022 August 12, 2022 Dear Valued Guest, We want to update you as we modify our public health protocols to simplify the process and welcome more guests aboard. We have much to share but will try to be as concise as possible. As we finish a very busy and successful summer travel season, we are pleased to announce protocol updates that meet public health goals but recognize the evolving nature of COVID-19. With these changes, we are making it easier for more guests to sail with simplified vaccination and testing guidelines, including no testing for vaccinated guests on sailings less than 16 nights, and eliminating the exemption request process for unvaccinated guests, who will only need to show a negative test result at embarkation. All new guidelines are effective for cruises departing on Tuesday, September 6, 2022 or later, and include: Vaccinated guests must continue to provide evidence of their vaccination status, either through VeriFLY or at embarkation. Pre cruise testing is no longer required, except for the following destination regulations: Canada: a PCR test can be taken 3 days before sailing or an antigen test can be taken 2 days before sailing Bermuda: a PCR test can be taken 4 days before sailing or an antigen test can be taken 2 days before sailing Greece: a PCR or antigen test can be taken 2 days before sailing Australia: a PCR test 3 days before sailing or a self-administered antigen test 1 day before sailing Unvaccinated guests are welcome to sail and are no longer required to apply for a vaccine exemption, except for cruises in Australia or on voyages 16 nights and longer. Unvaccinated guests or those who do not provide proof of vaccination must present the results of a negative PCR or antigen test taken within 3 days of embarkation, expect for the following destination regulations: Canada: a PCR test can be taken 3 days before sailing or an antigen test can be taken 2 days before sailing Bermuda: a PCR test can be taken 4 days before sailing (antigen tests are not accepted) Australia: a PCR test 3 days before sailing or a self-administered antigen test 1 day before sailing Note: Guests under the age of 5 years are exempt from vaccination and testing requirements for sailings from the U.S., and under the age of 12 for sailings from Australia The following additional destination requirements remain in place: Unvaccinated guests ages 12 and over are unable to sail on cruises to Bermuda (no exceptions) Unvaccinated guests ages 12 and over are unable to sail on cruises to Canada, unless they meet Canadian requirements that validate they are unable to be vaccinated for medical purposes. Details on Canada’s medical exemption documentation requirements are available here: Guests sailing to Canada and Bermuda will be asked to confirm their vaccination status within 21 days of booking in order for us to manage the requirements of these specific destinations. Guests who are currently booked must complete their vaccine attestation by August 24. The vaccine attestation is located on the to-do list under Manage My Booking on Carnival.com. Failure by the guests to confirm vaccination status will unfortunately result in cancellation of the booking. Certain destinations may have protocols that prohibit debarkation by unvaccinated guests, which are largely consistent with their guidelines for passengers arriving by air. So, while unvaccinated guests may sail after presenting the results of a negative COVID test, they will need to remain on board the ship during visits to the following destinations: Cartagena, Colombia and Grand Turk (for unvaccinated guests 18 years or older Bermuda, Bonaire, Grand Cayman, St. Kitts and Tortola (for unvaccinated guests 12 years or older) Voyages 16 nights and longer will continue to have vaccination and testing requirements that are specific to the itinerary, and Carnival will continue to communicate with those guests in a timely manner. For guests who have a pending vaccine exemption application and are awaiting confirmation for cruises departing September 6 or later, the booking is confirmed unless booked on a sailing that calls on Canada, Bermuda, Australia or if the voyage is 16 nights or longer. We are in the process of updating our website, communications, and processes to reflect these new, simplified policies. We appreciate your patience as we work to streamline requirements for guests leading into their cruise vacation. Requirements for long voyages and destination-specific protocols will soon be available on Carnival’s Have Fun. Be Safe. page on Carnival.com. We look forward to welcoming more guests aboard. We’ve got lots happening, with Carnival Luminosa and Carnival Celebration joining our fleet this November and more to come in 2023. Whatever the ship, homeport or itinerary that works for you, our great onboard team is ready to deliver a fun and memorable vacation. Sincerely, Christine Duffy President, Carnival Cruise Line
  9. I have a collapsible metal straw with a nice little rubber tip on it that has its own little plastic tube carrying case. LOVE it... overall it is like 4" long and fits right in my pocket. Just slightly longer (but a bit narrower) than carrying around a lipstick in my pocket. Bought 2 and take them every cruise now.
  10. PS: It is 25% of the base fare (not including port fees, taxes, etc), and just for you (not those sailing with you) I am doing this. I hit 50 in like 2 cruises, but I am saving mine for next fall when I cruise Panama because that one cost me more $ than any others I will do in the next year.
  11. You don't have to use it right on the 25th cruise. You can save it and use it for a future one where you can maximize the amount you get back (the more the room costs, the more you get in OBC). I think it is 1 or 2 years you have to use it. I used mine like 2 or 3 cruises after I hit 25.
  12. Bottomless bubbles used to get a sticker too... haven't seen one of those in a while though.
  13. Be advised, there are two sections to look in and it can be confusing. They changed this a while back and it got goofy. If you are in your booking itself and you click on gifts and stateroom decor, the cakes will not show up there, this is what looks like when you are in your booking (where it won't work). You need to be signed in on the Carnival website and be on the main home page and select the Fun Shops - Celebrate Onboard. This is where you will find the cakes you can order. Screen will look like this:
  14. it's reall Doesn't matter, they still ask for Picture ID. I would NOT be giving out advise to others that you don't need to carry ID with you. If you choose not to that is one thing, but the ship drills it into your head you HAVE to take photo id and sail and sign when you get off the ship (except maybe their private islands). And in Bahamas they do ask for it, and I have seen first hand what happens if you don't have it (not me, someone else in front of me in line). The port authority people can be quite testy when they want to be. Mexico can be sticklers too sometimes. The passport/no passport thing is a catch 22. It is best in the event that you get stranded on shore to have it, but also you risk losing it if you carry it around with you. I opt to not carry mine around because I feel the risk of missing the boat is minor versus the risk of losing the passport (more major for as we usually are doing active sports like diving, snuba, etc.). I carry my drivers license, a copy of my passport, and I always have a scanned copy of my passport where I can electronically access it as well.
  15. It does depend on the rate you booked under, Early Saver fares you most certainly can, but others you can too. You can call, or you can fill out the form (if you know it is an Early Saver booking and don't want to wait on the phone). If you are paid in full they will credit the difference back to you as OBC. I watch my cruises ALL the time and often get an adjusted lower price: Here is the link and Carnival's rules: https://www.carnival.com/core/requestforms/priceprotection.aspx What should I do once I find a lower rate? Complete a price protection claim form. If the request meets the price protection requirements, we will process the fare difference and send you an email confirmation within 2 business days of your request. If the booking is not paid in full – the cruise fare will be re-priced. If the booking is paid in full – the difference of fare will be issued as a non-refundable gross on board credit. What information must be submitted for a price protection request? Guest(s) name Sailing information Available cruise fare being requested Where the lower advertised fare was found (example: Carnival.com) When can I submit a price protection request? Carnival will accept price protection requests up to 2 business days prior to sailing. How many times can I submit a price protection request? Provided that you are eligible for the lower fare, there are no restrictions to the number of price protection requests or the requested amount.
  16. If you have reservations at the restaurant like the steakhouse, you do not need to check in. Your reservation does the job, just show up. As long as your reservation is for the correct number of people then you will not need to do anything else, they should have a table for you. There is a difference between having an actual reservation and checking in: Reservation - works just like on land (they know what time you are coming and how many). Don't need to do anything else. Check In - (like for main dining room), is you letting them know you are ready to eat now and telling them how many and then they alert you when they have your table ready for you - more like if you walked into a land based restaurant without a reservation and just gave your name and party number to the hostess. Then they call you when your table is ready. You just do it in the Hub App wherever you are on the ship and they let you know when you can come down, instead of showing up down there to check in and wait.
  17. My comment was only specifically for the main dining room. Not specialty restaurants. There is a difference between having a reservation at one of the specialty restaurants and adding or deleting anyone for that and using the hub app and checking in for dinner in the dining room.
  18. I agree... general speaking, and said pretty much the same thing. Except, a good PVP can often have things waived. Mine does it all the time. 😄
  19. I would recommend the opposite. 80% of the cruises I am on we get a letter looking for peoples missing luggage. We do carry on and carry off only. Nothing ruins a vacation faster than having luggage lost. Since we are in Michigan we fly in for every cruise. I can pack in two ligit airplane carry on size suite cases and two should bags for a week. Just need to be really good at packing and plan for exactly what you need. I always make myself a laundry packet with powdered laundry detergent and dryer sheets just in case I have to was clothes (I don't like them doing my laundry even thought it is free to me) but rarely have to use it.
  20. If you can get a good PVP they may be able to get you moved without any issues (or fees, a lot of times a good one can get them waived). We have changed our plans a LOT of times over the years. It is usually best instead of cancelling to "change" your booking - seems they can forgo some penalties a lot easier this way, especially if the new cruise you book costs any $ more. A lot depends on what rate code you booked under, again, if you can find a good PVP to help instead of just regular customer service.
  21. That's because the whole ship is basically one big open container lol!ðŸĪŠ
  22. My husband is the the one that usually clicks us in on the App but I believe (from watching him do it) you have to select you want to sit alone or shared. One or the other, and if you select neither then you may end up at a shared table. So watch for that and click the correct option. Also, you can click to select how many people you want as long as they are in your room - or if you are sailing with others in a different room you have them linked to your booking as well. Look at your booking under booking details and cruise companions. Whoever is here dictates how many you can list for dinner when you check in. So like us, our upcoming cruise we have 3 rooms linked together - 6 people total. So when we go to check in we can select anywhere from 1 to 6 people.
  23. One note, We did see on our last sailing on the Conquest in July - they had added 2 extra items available every night. It was supposed to be a spin off Cucina - it was Chicken Parm and a Shrimp and pasta dish. Don't see this on the copy attached here, and only say it this one time last month. It may be because Cucina wasn't open and they were doing it briefly until they re-opened. Not sure.
  24. .... Years.... they instituted the cans only policy long before restart.
  25. I suspected this too. The type of lobster is certainly different so they are preparing one type in masses for main dining room. But then when they do get a steak house lobster order, they have to prepare that one right then. Which would account for why the one seems fresher and not dried out.
