  1. We ended up picking the Celebrity Apex for a family cruise in 2024 because some members felt that way. However, if you really don't want beaches, why not try Alaska or Europe.
  2. We sailed on the Jade out of Athens in October. It was a nice older ship with great crew. The included food was pretty decent and the food in the specialty restaurants was great. If you do the air promo, make sure you ask for a deviation to arrive at least 1 day early. Otherwise, you arrive the day of the sailing and it could be dicey. We had looked at Celebrity when booking but it was more money at the time. Ironically, we are taking the same Celebrity ship- the Apex in the Caribbean in Feb 2024. For me in the Caribbean, the ship is more important. In the Mediterranean, the ports are more important than the ship. Celebrity should be rolling out their 2024 itineraries probably next month. You could always wait to comparison shop.
  3. Has anyone done the Buck Island and Water Island Excursion? Celebrity is offering it. What beach on St. Thomas is best for non-snorkelers?
  4. I think people in the Northeast might welcome a change from Anthem but would they charge more because its a newer ship?
  5. It was interesting when we visited in 2017. Sounds like you have a full, interesting schedule already.
  6. Variety is the spice of life and since you have already been on Navigator several times, why not try the Panorama? You may wish to invest some of your savings in specialty dining.
  7. Yes, we did the laundry special midweek thought our cruise last month. I think it was $29.99 or 25.99
  8. Thanks for posting. We missed the Iolani Palace. Great photos and info! I did visit the Hulihee Palace in Kona.
  9. Well, in ourcase the requirements were loosened less than 14 days out. We were already boosted but as a result of the change, we didnt have to test. Our cruise also stopped in Israel which also loosened requirements not long before our sailing. Our cruise wasnt very crowded and I suspect that was due to the original requirements.
  10. We sailed last month out of Greece on a different line. Greece changed their protocols less than 2 weeks before our cruise.
  11. My neighbor who is on her late 30's has been sailing Celebrity 3x a year for 10 years. All she needs is a sun deck , good food, and the Caribbean and she is happy. You know your son best
  12. We booked an NCL excursion for our first day in Israel due to the immigration issues. For our second day, we booked a private tour through Guided Tours Israel and it was fabulous. On the first day, Israel gives you an immigration pass instead of stamping your passport. You hold onto that while in Israel.
  13. I am sorry to hear about your illness and your experience with Celebrity's insurance. After reading yours and others experience, I think I will definitely get MedJet for our next cruise. Hope you continue to feel better.
  14. The Apex looks great. Sailing on her winter 2024 from Fort Lauderdale.
  15. The menus can be found in the Celebrity App.
  16. Cruise Radio is reporting that the Edge will sail to Alaska in 2024. What do you think of the Edge doing Alaska? A friend is looking into doing in Alaska in 2024 and was looking into HAL or Princess.
  17. We visited these ports recently on the Norwegian Jade. We experienced some delays due to the immigration experience. This is why we booked an NCL tour for the first day. It was Dead Sea and Masada. We still got to experience everything and the slight delay didn't ultimately affect our day. The next day, we had a wonderful private tour with Guided Tours Israel. It was nicer having the private tour and getting to pick what we wanted to see.
  18. Sounds like a good plan to do the 7 day out of NY on Carnival.
  19. We ordered continental breakfast through room service to be delivered to our room on the Jade last month. It was complimentary. We had fruit, pastries, cereal, tea and juice. It was such a pleasure to enjoy it on our balcony on a sea day. If I had a hankering for a soda or iced tea, I would pick up one from Garden Cafe or the Great Outdoors.
  20. I am very sorry to hear that you were harassed and the subject of unwanted touching. That is very disappointing to hear that women especially younger ones have to be concerned for their safety while traveling alone on a ship.
  21. We were on the Jade out of Athens last month. Ship holds 2400 and there was 1880 guests onboard.
