  1. Definitely, plus the spread is exponential so what may have been just a couple of cases at the start of the cruise has snowballed out to bigger numbers. Hopefully we're past the peak and the mandatory RATs before going ashore in Fremantle and Busselton may have caught a few people who didn't realise they had caught it.
  2. It's not too bad. Patches of blue sky and some sunshine. Decent swells though so the ship is moving around a little.
  3. The noisy group was far more subdued last night although they still took over half the seats in the bar.
  4. Unfortunately we won't be in Melbourne on Friday. Due to weather conditions, plus the medical emergency just after leaving Busselton, we won't arrive in Adelaide until Thursday. They haven't announced which of the remaining ports - Melbourne, Burnie or Hobart - will be axed.
  5. They need staff to handle all the room service deliveries. Yes, it's very busy in the evenings in the MDR.
  6. That's correct if you just want to have the upgraded drinks package without the other Premier features. If you want the 4 device internet package, two speciality dinners and photo package as well then it costs an extra $35pp per day.
  7. Yes, at the moment there probably are a lot of cases but some should be recovering over the next few days and testing negative. We are still operating with only one MDR open for dinner. Once they open the other one then I'll know the numbers have dropped significantly.
  8. That depends on how many of the Brisbane passengers still have Covid.
  9. Actually it isn't originally American at all, it's European. An ancient Celtic tradition, taken over by Christians, and honours the dead on All Hallows Eve. Americans just commercialised it.
  10. Mmmmm! That might be a term to describe some of them. 🤣🤣😋
  11. Years ago we did a wonderful tour from Tokyo to Kyoto. It went to Mt Fuji, Hakone, Takayama, the Shirakiwago region, and Kanazawa. Some of the travel was by bus, and some was by train. I booked it through a Japanese travel agency, Sunrise Tours.
  12. Parts of the ship are decorated for Halloween. There is a display of carved pumpkins in the Atrium: The Universe Lounge is looking rather spooky. I'll try and get some photos after trivia.
  13. It's quite spectacular from deck 5 when the bow wave crashes into the peaks of the swell.
  14. We've spoken to a couple of the crew that we know quite well by now and both assured us that there was very little Covid among the crew, thank goodness.
  15. We've got swells around four metres today but the ship is handling it well.
  16. I've just discovered that the older demographic "partiers" can be almost as bad! A large group has taken over our favourite small bar on Coral Princess. Around 10-12 people who spread out right across the bar. The men shout at each other from one end of their group to the other, and the women are constantly shrieking with laughter. I think we're going to have to find somewhere else for our pre and post dinner drinks. My ears hurt!
  17. Medical emergency. A passenger is very ill (non-Covid related) and needs to be transferred to hospital.
  18. Yes, Rolf was asked to test every day and report the result to Medical. We both have to test tomorrow morning.
  19. At this time of the year there are still storms passing across the south of the South Island. You should be OK in January though.
  20. I woke up just after midnight hearing a loud banging noise. The bit that opens between our balcony and the next had come open and was banging against their deck furniture. We managed to push the furniture away from it far enough to stop the noise. I don't think the people in that cabin even heard it. Our steward has secured it again so hopefully it will stay put from now on.
  21. All I have to do for the next couple of days is hang on while the ship rides the wild waves across the Bight.🤣
