  1. That is correct. We have a sea day tomorrow, Burnie port stop on Saturday as originally scheduled, then go to Melbourne on Sunday before the final sea day back to Sydney.
  2. Oh no! Not the dreaded man-flu! Get antivirals if you can, they are magic!
  3. I guess it's a prime location for a hotel. It must be annoying for all those who regularly shopped there. It was a big Coles from memory. If they're smart they'll build the hotel over a shopping mall and reinstate the Coles.
  4. Yes, it's been very pleasant wandering around the small streets and lanes. Oh! How odd! I seem to have walked straight to the Central Market! 🤣🤣🤣 I love that place! Of course I can only look and drool. 😪 All the stuff I'd like to buy is fresh produce and meats so not possible. We had a lovely Thai lunch across the road though. When did the big Coles next to the market close down? I was hoping to look for a couple of things there.
  5. It can take a day or so to test positive even with a PCR test. Look after yourself and rest up.
  6. Great review, Geoff. One thing we learnt from having aft cabins is to always move through the ship, when leaving your cabin, through passenger cabin decks not the public area decks. You might have to dodge a few cabin steward trolleys but usually there aren't any traffic jams. The same principle applies to forward cabins too.
  7. Tonight they were using the Provence MDR as overflow. It's not officially open though. It worked very well, they were mostly sending twos up there and spreading them out around the first part of the dining room, near the entrance. It was lovely and peaceful.
  8. Just enjoy! The crew are wonderful and will make your cruise special. If you have the drinks package try some if the special cocktails in the Good Spirits Bar, especially the Butterfly.
  9. We've finally received the revised itinerary for the remainder of the cruise: Thu 3/11 Adelaide Fri 4/11 At Sea Sat 5/11 Burnie (original scheduled date) Sun 6/11 Melbourne Mon 7/11 At Sea Tue 8/11 Disembark Sydney. So no Hobart port stop. We are getting a Bonus FCC of 15% of our cruise fare which I think is very generous of Princess given the port cancellations were weather-related
  10. The exception is some Asian dishes which is why I finally bought myself a proper wok and have learnt to do some very yummy yet healthy stirfries.
  11. My recommendation is to take enough P2 masks for your cruise. They are far more effective than surgical masks and more comfortable.
  12. Possibly, but Mariana had us booked in for a specific table after the first night on this cruise but with only the one MDR she can't save our table for us, we just have to take what's available.
  13. We haven't been able to get our regular table but we dine very late compared with you.
  14. Thanks, Pushka. We had planned to do a Cradle Mountain excursion out of Burnie (if we get there) but I think it would be smart to postpone that for another time.
  15. A guy we spoke to last night had actually walked around all the decks and counted 253 cabins with tables in front of doors. Some of those cabins may have had more than one Covid patient so my guess is around 300 at that point in time, which would have triggered Tier 3. I'm fairly sure they would only count active cases so the numbers should start dropping over the next few days.
  16. We're in Adelaide on Thursday so Friday will be a sea day. We don't need the turbochargers. 🤣 But that means either Burnie or Hobart will need to be dropped as we are due in Sydney next Tuesday and the ship can't get from Tasmania to Sydney overnight.
  17. Unfortunately I'm one of those people who can rarely sleep during the day. And on the rare occasions that I do I don't sleep very well that night.
  18. We had plenty of "medication" delivered to our cabin during iso! 🤣 But, yes, we have resumed our usual habit of hanging out in Good Spirits before dinner, and sometimes afterwards as well. That's as long as the big group doesn't drive us away.
  19. That's great news. I think I'm having that post-antivirals crash someone mentioned. I've been feeling a bit tired (although one hour time shifts two days in a row don't help) and don't feel like eating much (whereas I was quite hungry while I actually had Covid). I'm quite glad we have an extra sea day.
  20. Yes. We didn't start noticing the tables until around the time we reached Darwin (day 10 from Sydney). I developed symptoms the day we were in Broome (day 14 from Sydney).
