I just got off the Discovery on 11/5 and had absolutely the best food I've had on a ship in over 30 years. A new Excecutive Chef, Davide Menabo, absolutely brilliant! I just hope Princess treats him well and he doesn't wander over to Viking! Glad you're having a trip of a lifetime!

I'm jumping in late to this conversation but would like to share my experience with Covid that I got on the Discovery 10/29 cruise. I received my fifth booster 3 weeks before the cruise. There was nearly 0% masking, including passengers and crew. I disembarked Sat 11/5. Sunday night/Monday morning I woke up with the worst sore throat I have ever had, followed by cough, fever, aches, chills, etc. I tested negative. With my daughter's advice, who just recovered, she told me to test again. Tuesday, I tested a faint positive. Wednesday and every day after I am a strong positive, and progressively getting worse. I sent a message to my Dr. who referred me to the Infectious Disease department and the next day they fast tracked me in for Remdesivir infusions, for 3 days. Yesterday was my last treatment. The cough is gone, the sore throat is minimal now. I am still positive and yesterday I developed oral thrush on tongue. The purpose of Remdesivir is to shorten the length of the virus and to keep me out of the hospital. Can't wait to be 100% again. I do not think preboarding testing accomplishes much, but I do believe 100% masking would

Did you have a note pad in your suite? I was on the 10/29 sailing in a penthouse suite and did not have a pad or pen to leave notes, which was frustrating because I saw my steward, the first day, and that was it.

I am not feeling better and my dr. office referred me to the infectious disease dept. for monoclonal antibody infusion. Got a call this morning that I qualify. I will start Remdesever infusions for 3 days in a row, starting today. Am not looking forward to driving down to San Diego on a holiday weekend!!

Well I totally let my guard down and drank the KoolAid. I always wear a mask but, on this cruise, since they dropped all Covid requirements and like you say, no one else was masking, I followed the crowd.

Thank you, I have an inhaler for occasional asthma, will place a delivery order and add Gatorade to it. So far, I am able to breathe through my nose, hope it stays that way.

They had a Halloween Disco Deck Party up by the pool and I was surprised at how many people dressed up! Pirates seemed to be the theme.

I just got off the Discovery, and due to the negative comments about the lack of wine variety on the Plus Package, I brought my own. I was in Club Class and took two bottles into the dining room at embarkation lunch and asked the Dining Room Manager if he could store them for me. He said no, as he would not have any control and they would probably be used by someone else. He inquired further with the Bar Manager and got the same answer, someone would take them. He then suggested giving me two very large glasses that I could take to my room and fill it up before I came in to eat. Worked out perfectly. The first night I ate at the Crown Grill and ordered a glass of the plus Chardonnay, garbage. Could not drink it, so I upgraded to a premium wine and paid the difference.

I disembarked on Saturday and started feeling sick yesterday. Started with a real bad sore throat, then cough, then fever, then shivering. I tested positive this morning. Probably my fault, I got lax with masking up. The ship was full, and the elevators were crammed with people talking non-stop. And I got my 5th booster shortly before the cruise. I intend to write a short review with the highlights and lowlights but will wait until I'm not so foggy.

I wonder how you qualify for the invitation?

I just got off the Discovery Saturday and had the same meal there. The filet was the best steak I have ever had!

Can you do me a favor if you have a chance? I'm concerned about the lack of variety in wine that has been posted and am thinking of bringing my own for the 10/29 cruise. Could you possibly take a look at the wine list and see if they have Decoy Chardonnay, either glass or bottle, in the MDR? Thanks so much and hope you are having a great cruise!
