  1. I can sure empathize with what you are saying, been going through this myself in the last year or so. It's a balancing act trying to schedule cruises between future treatments. Best of luck to you.
  2. Not too pertinent to this, but I see Luggage Forward has an offer on my Amex card. Wish mine had an Oceania offer.
  3. No need to take that route. Bottom line is that it appears from most of us that know, that you have been given incorrect information, it happens all the time. Some of us are just trying to help get to the bottom of it. It would seem a little bizarre for them to change the final payment date on Sept 1 to 150 days, and then change it again to 180 days 2 months later. I would be willing to bet a dollar to a donut that the person you talked to has confused the penalty dates with the final payment date.
  4. Yes but, depending on what you pick you can also have additional fees.
  5. Jan, have you seen the last few posts on the thread about Final Payment date changing, especially the one from Host Anne? I think it could use your input.
  6. There are a few things you need to know about going in a few days early if you are doing air through Oceania. If you go in more than 3 days early there will be an additional charge per person, I think it's now $199 pp. Also going in early will probably impact the transfers, but that would be a question for your TA or Oceania.
  7. I don't think you mentioned, but when is your friend's cruise?
  8. Here you go. Guests are permitted to make the following reservations in our specialty restaurants - which vary by ship, category and length of cruise: Marina and Riviera Owner’s Suite, Vista Suite and Oceania Suite Cruises 7 days or less: 1 reservation at each restaurant Cruises 8-17 days: 2 reservations at each restaurant Cruises 18 days or more: 3 reservations at each restaurant Penthouse Suite Cruises 17 days or less: 1 reservations at each restaurant Cruises 18 days or more: 2 reservations at each restaurant Concierge Level Veranda, Veranda, Ocean View and Inside Stateroom All cruises: 1 reservations at each restaurant Insignia, Nautica, Regatta and Sirena Concierge Level Veranda and above Cruises 7 days or less: 1 reservation at each restaurant Cruises 8-17 days: 2 reservations at each restaurant Cruises 18 days or more: 3 reservations at each restaurant All other categories Cruises 17 days or less: 1 reservations at each restaurant Cruises 18 days or more: 2 reservations at each restaurant
  9. Not in every case, it's determined by how high the category is and the length of the cruise, also O ships vs R ships. FYI, there are always built in opening for numerous reasons, I do know that VIP's can pretty much get any restaurant at any time. Not that I'm a VIP, but I have cruised with 1 or 2.
  10. It seems to be all about private or sharing in my experience.
  11. I don't have Platinum or Gold, but I do have 4 other Amex cards, I recently got a Cunard, Royal Caribbean, and Regent offer. Best advice I can give on any of these offers, being for cruise or anything else, if you see something you think you might remotely use, add it to your card. You never know how long the offer will be there, although the expiration date for the offer may be a couple of months.
  12. On the O class ships for the categories that have the small shower and a tub/shower combo I tend to use the shower in the tub, although for someone mobility challenged I'm sure it's difficult to step in and out of.
  13. I see the part you're talking about now, but how to we know for sure that Marketing doesn't consider the current showers in the PH "generous oversized"? I guess we'll have to wait and see. I do agree it's all about money and them not wanting to spend any more on this than necessary, yet fulfill the previously promised upgrade to some degree.
  14. We've got so many threads going on this could you point out which one. I don't always read the links posted in threads, so I might have missed what you're referring to.
  15. Well the fifth bullet point specifically says they won’t be doing the showers, but it doesn’t reference the room category.
  16. You know, this is the only time I’ve ever seen you be wrong in what you post, but you have no trouble admitting it, unlike a couple of others that post here. I admire that quality. Of course with the moving target Oceania has on this subject it’s not hard to get things wrong every once in a while.
  17. I guess I was going by what another poster got from their TA on the other thread. I’ll read the press release instead of 3rd party posts. See reply below.
  18. Oh boy. As mentioned above, there are at least two threads on this subject currently on the front page. Apparently the current info is that there will be no structural changes to the bathrooms on any of the categories.
  19. Well if they were basing the information on the previous plan and what they did to Riviera they told you completely wrong. Sounds like someone was trying to work you to sell a more expensive category.
  20. This thread reminds me of the old George Carlin line that starts off , "Now here's another Pack of ..........
  21. I wouldn't read too much into that. Just because it wasn't said doesn't mean it's not going to happen. For a couple of years they've detailed the updates that will happen. But perhaps with your vast Oceania experience you have some inside knowledge on the subject.
  22. Make you wonder how someone can be on their 4th Oceania cruise in a year and not understand something this basic. This is how confusion and misinformation is spread. Thanks for calling it out. Social media on all platforms needs more of that.
