  1. Which is exactly what they do. It's just their numbers don't always make people happy.
  2. Yeah, we tried that, was flatly told no, but this was when the program was first rolled out. Maybe they've realized the stupidity of their initial position.
  3. Have you found acceptable flights for this? Looks pretty risky, most people are going to tell you not to try it.
  4. Well now wait a minute. Paragraph 1 is if you don't pick flights, but the day. Your flight will still be assigned at about 75 days out and ticketed around 40. For paragraph 2 it does require a Deviation fee. Unless I've missed something that's changed recently.
  5. The last thing I would want to see is Loyalty awarded by how much you're paying for your cabin. That's Mass Market class division stuff, which Oceania really doesn't do. The system is certainly not perfect, but I'd hate to see it based on dollar spend like Celebrity changed to a few years ago.
  6. Unless you are in that donut hole of having turned Platinum a couple of months before they rolled out the current bag & hat Milestone awards. They didn't give us a Platinum one because you get them on your Milestone cruises. So, we have to get to Diamond before getting one. Funny, but we should have 4, Bronze, Silver, Gold & Platinum.
  7. Different people see this different ways, most consider walking around the ship in a robe bad form, lots of people find ways to justify it. Conventional thinking is that the robe is for the room. There are no posted policies about this.
  8. Well it seems this policy has only been in effect for a couple of weeks now. If you booked in the last two weeks you're probably not thinking of cancelling or moving to another cruise yet. Unless I've got it wrong.
  9. Not at all, I might tend to request something more along the lines of "Whipping Post" though.
  10. While I wouldn't do that it does tend to have that funeral parlor seriousness about it. But I like big drums and loud guitars, so I'm not really the target audience for the string quartet.
  11. You don't have to refer to it as the Main theatre, I'm pretty sure there's only one.
  12. Personally I'd be ok with them charging a little more and keeping the quality of the product as it's been historically. Then again, I've been on 4 Oceania cruises in the past year and have been happy with them. I've got three coming up in the next year, for now.
  13. I was going to check it out but noticed it was over an hour long. Is there a Cliff Notes version? Maybe you could just give us your impressions. Thanks for posting.
  14. If you say so. I don't like having to pack nice clothes late on the last night. But that's just me.
  15. Perfect example of what I've mentioned recently. Wax on, Wax off.
  16. Yeah, I always thought your TA sounded familiar, so all this information confused me.
  17. Can I ask how you know this? Are you a TA?
  18. Yes I do, my wife likes it also, many times we just get that and tell them one each.
  19. PS, I've always liked the Big O points name, as it's been one of my numerous nicknames from a young age.
  20. You get the Big O points for Trivia, Baggo(Cornhole), Shuffleboard, Putting, Ping Pong, Mensa Quiz, Art Scavenger hunt, and I'm sure some other things I've forgotten. You only get points for winning 1st, 2nd or 3rd in Trivia, and of course 1st gets more than 3rd. There is no participation trophy. Some activities do give you a point for playing. It all depends on who is running things. There are various ways to get points. We have a lot of stuff and unless they come out with new stuff don't really find anything we want. Many times we give extras to others on our trivia team or maybe just a random person in line that needs a few more points to get a shirt or a hat or something. 60 Points is a bargain for the jacket. They must have a lot of those. We have one each and gave one to BIL for Christmas, although he's never been on Oceania.
  21. I'm certainly no expert in this field, but we were there a few years ago and the glacier was doing serious calving. We were also fairly close to it. SO, not sure waves would be the reason, although I also don't believe it's something as nefarious as just wanting to sell tours. Maybe environmental regulations?
  22. I'll add to this, one of the best tours we've been on, one we always talk about.
  23. Exactly, I just don't know what it is that people don't get about this, and add all kinds of personal opinions to the dress code.
