  1. Maybe tell us what you're looking for in a cruise line, what you've liked about Celebrity and why you are not happy with them now. That might help to determine if Oceania would be a good fit for you.
  2. I've never heard or seen this before. It's either something new or a problem with the booking engine, which is highly likely.
  3. From looking at your list of past cruises it appears those were pre-covid. See Britfan's response for current operation.
  4. You’re in the last group to book on a 7 day cruise on an R ship and want to eat early at a 2 top in a Specialty? Not going to happen.
  5. Appreciate your opinion, I’ll consider it for what it’s worth.
  6. 3:30 flight, so they won't be there near as long as they seem to think.
  7. I agree with you, but they have to draw a line somewhere.
  8. We loved our free cruise to Norway. Thanks for your review. We've been on 4 Oceania cruises post covid and just don't see this downgrade that others are experiencing.
  9. Well lets see, if you arrive at 9:30 you'll need to collect your luggage, find the Oceania rep, wait to board the bus, wait for the bus to fill up, then drive from LGA to the Manhattan cruise port. I don't know how far that is, but I'd say you're going to be pushing 11 or later by the time you get there. They are already boarding people by this time. Plenty to eat and things to do on the ship until your cabin is ready later in the day. That won't be so bad. On the tail end it might all depend on what time they send people that have their transfers with Oceania. One thing you can pretty much count on is you'll be off the ship no later than 9 or 9:30 unless there's an issue. If you're not going to transfer with them sometimes they will offer a tour of the city with airport drop off. I did one of these a few years ago on another cruise line, from Newark. So, it's not all doom and gloom. Even without a tour by the time you go through the process and check in and go through security you only have a 3 or 4 hour wait. Do you have access to any airport lounges? I have Priority Pass that comes with my Hilton Card that has come in pretty nice while traveling. I think it's good for 10 visits a year. I wouldn't beg trouble too much in advance.
  10. Only the 4th largest city in the world. I guess it should be busy there.
  11. It varies by length and room booked, as well as the cruise you're booking, I think. They generally have an "up to" price. On an upcoming cruise in a B4 we got $400 per person for a total of $800. It really does depend on various factors though. I have another that we only get $300 total, but it was a lower category. There are some promotions that the onboard discount doesn't combine with. You have to decide what is best.
  12. Exactly, I’m like what? People seeing snark where none is intended. Just trying to make it simpler.
  13. If it's not clear yet let's try this. It's by account, not device. You can log in on your laptop, then if you want to use your phone you log in on it. It will ask if you want to log out the other device. Then you can log in on your ipad if you desire, but once it again it will ask you if you want to log out the other device. So, starting Oct 1 you get two accts, to use on as many devices as you want to, but only logged in to each acct one device at a time.
  14. Here's what doesn't work. One of the Oceania club perks for Platinum and up is Priority Terminal Check in. I've never seen a line for this. I just get in the Suite line and if anyone questions me I tell them I have Priority Terminal Check in. I actually asked one of the workers once where the line was for that and she took me to the suite line. Noticed later this person was the Social Hostess. If you ask and the person is not aware of that perk they will ask what room you are in and send you to the corresponding line. Perks should be honored, otherwise what's the point of them.
  15. That makes sense, at least one of the cruises that didn't have it had 5 ports.
  16. I've had cruises that didn't have the 25% discount or Unlimited tour package. Not sure what the parameters are for it. This was with Olife.
  17. The last 2 or 3 cruises I've been on had 11;30 as the only option.
  18. What I haven't got lately is email promotions. So maybe as PinotL explained it's in a transition time.
  19. Oh, that sucks, hate to hear that. If there's any port I'd be ok missing it's Nassau, but going there twice in one cruise and losing an overnight in Charleston. I'd be pretty mad about it.
  20. Pay attention Bill, this is more the market Oceania caters to. Only you can decide if you fit in. If not it's better to stay with a Mass Market line.
  21. Not so sure it's as cut and dried as this. But I'm sure you have your reasons. I do know that years ago Duty Free shops in the Caribbean had some really great deals, especially on Single Malts. Now I never see a good deal at them. I do occasionally pick up a bottle or two at an airport Duty Free, but simply for the convenience of it, not for the price.
  22. But do you really need a ship map after 11 cruises with O? I know I don't. Especially on an R ship. Ah cmon man, that's pretty rough.
  23. It's ok to just ignore some posters.
  24. I base my specialty nights on what else is going on. I know the second night of the cruise is generally Captain's Welcome so I try not to book on that night, don't want to limit my free drink time to just 30 minutes or so if I have a 6:30 reservation. If I have a long tour that gets in late I try not to book one on those days. I also base it on what nights are available at an early time. We're early eaters. I don't worry about what the GDR has to offer as I can get the same food at Terrace. There is usually not anything I worry about missing, unless it's a souffle I really like. Sometimes we go to the GDR to see what the Souffle of the day is for dessert after eating in a specialty. We don't go hungry.
