Probably the most boring topic on here today

If you cancel, your credits go back into your account. Done it many times. -
I watched mine at check-in and disregarded the emails. Turned on the TV and let it run while I unpacked. No big deal. Why would you think the watching of videos would indicate you would have In Person muster drill? Those are gone.

NCL Late Flight From Seattle Post-Cruise
debenson0723 replied to bbqbears's topic in West Coast Departures
The Seattle port has a service called Port Valet. You put your luggage out the night before the end of the cruise, it is picked up, taken to the airport and the next time you see it is in baggage claim at your local airport. You can do a search on this website and find more information (this question is asked at least once or twice a week). Enjoy your cruise. -
Typically it can take up to 24 hours to get your e-docs after check in. Also, there is a Ports of Call forum on this website where a lot of the questions here will have answers, especially regarding transportation in the various ports. I have used it extensively for my travels in Europe. @Happycrafter123 it's been great following your Live and can't wait to hear all about when you are on the ship. I have not done a true Med cruise yet but have done Greece on the Jade in November 2021. All of the ports were fabulous. Will probably do a Rome on my own visit next year (solo female traveler) about this same time so good to know about the crowds. Have a wonderful time and enjoy your cruise!

On my Prima cruise it was in Hasuku, the teppanyaki restaurant. It is located near Hudson's, which is where we went to eat lunch at embarkation.

LIVE ALASKA NCL BLISS 04-22-2023 to 04-29-2023 Review
debenson0723 replied to graphicguy's topic in Norwegian Cruise Line
Glad you had a great time. I really enjoy your positive attitude. The Bliss is my favorite ship and I need to start looking for another cruise on her. Won't be this year (just booked the Viva) but might do the Pacific Coastal next year (even though I am looking at a Med cruise...hopefully can do both!). -
Might want to try the chat option or just call. I have been able to book reservations using either option when they were not showing available to book in the app.

If only it were only Nickles and dimes.

You are confusing the actual cost of the drink package (which is $109 a day plus 20% gratuities) with the Free at Sea offer, which most people take with NCL. With the FAS offer, the drink package itself is 'free' and you only pay the 20% gratuities, which are roughly $21 a day. So if you pick that offer for your cruise, 2 drinks a day will pretty much equal the cost of the gratuities. And recently NCL got rid of the corkage fee if you have the FAS package, so even better. I went on an RCL cruise last year and the drink package was $89.99 + 18% gratuities...there was no other offer, it was all or nothing. So I don't care how many bottles of water, smoothies and specialty coffees it includes, it was not worth it to me for that price. -
Let me see if I can find his information. Our situation was a little different...originally he was going to pick us up at our hotel at Heathrow, drive us to Windsor and drop us off for a tour, then to about 4 different places in London we wanted to see, drop us off at our West End theater to see a play and then down to Southampton. So we had him reserved for the whole day for about $400. But then the Queen died...the one contingency I didn't plan on! Traffic was even crazier than normal in London (and Windsor was closed) so we had him pick us up at Heathrow at 9am and drop us near the Palace, where we walked around Central London, ate at a pub near Covent Garden and went to the theater (while he kept all our luggage). He picked us up around 6pm and took us to Southampton. While it seems pricey, it was well worth it to the 3 of us not to have to worry about luggage, being in a very comfortable car and enjoy his charming conversation and stories. The fact that he picked us up in the morning for the ride to the port was a bonus.

Dropping off bags at airport (MIA)
debenson0723 replied to pristinehart's topic in Florida Departures
Does your cruise line offer a sightseeing excursion after the cruise that ends at the airport? I did this in Seattle once...luggage stays on the bus with you and the drop off is after noon so able to check bags then and only spend a few hours waiting. Also check Viator to see if they have a tour option, Last idea is get a day room either near the cruise port or airport, drop your bags there and either relax by the pool for the day or use that as your base to head out. Whatever option you find, enjoy your cruise! -
Dropping off bags at airport (MIA)
debenson0723 replied to pristinehart's topic in Florida Departures
How are you going to be going back to the beaches and finding some food? Sounds like you just need to rent a car for the day to do your sightseeing and you can leave your luggage in the trunk. Most airlines will not let you check bags until 4 hours prior to your flight. I don't fly AA but this may be an airport requirement, not an airline decision. I have used the baggage storage at multiple airports and that is a good option but again, how do you plan on getting around Miami? -
Transportation from Port Everglades to Disney World
debenson0723 replied to Cruise a holic's topic in Florida Departures
As mentioned above, can't imagine a car service taking you for the 3 hour ride, much less it being cost effective. I have done this several times and always rented a car. -

If you are dining solo, it never hurts to stop by the podium of a specialty restaurant and ask if you can be seated. It has worked for me a few times so you never know. Enjoy your evening! -
Never heard of Trinity reservations. One more tip before you leave home...make sure you have a phone number for every vendor you are using...airline, hotel (direct number), car rental agency (the actual location). Keep these in your phone for easy access in case there is a problem somewhere down the line. You will be ahead of the people who are scrambling to find this information last minute.

Your screen shot doesn't make any sense but it is a glitch in their app. Has happened a few times with regards to shows and other things on board, No charge for shows, nothing to worry about,. -

NCL Transfer with late afternoon check-in
debenson0723 replied to johnrich's topic in Norwegian Cruise Line
What time does the port schedule (or NCL) show the prior cruise arriving in NYC? I have been on cruises with a late departure time (in Miami) but the ship was there in the morning and we boarded at the usual times (around noon). If the ship truly does arrive in the late morning/early afternoon, I would do as suggested and take a car service to a luggage storage facility (have used one on 8th Ave and 42nd street via bounce), drop off your stuff and enjoy some time in NYC. Pick up your luggage after 4 and walk over to the port. -
Great post! I am a solo female traveler and have done both land and cruise vacations (and combinations) in Europe multiple times. I will typically travel to another country prior to embarking on the cruise portion but do love to unpack once and see multiple countries after that. And then I sometimes travel to another country after getting off the ship (example: prior to my Baltic cruise I spent time in London and 4 days in Germany, then got on the ship for 9 days, disembarking in CPH, where I spent a full day before flying to Norway). Last night I found a 4 day cruise on the Escape for next year that I think is perfect for me...I will spend a day or two in Barcelona pre-cruise, then board the ship (it has an overnight in Florence, where I will get a hotel rather than head back to port) and ends in Rome, where I will stay another few days. The price of the cruise is less than what I would pay for 4 nights hotel in Europe, plus I will have meals included and my transportation from Spain to Italy. I feel like I am getting the best of both worlds.

I have heard that about 3rd party reservations but I have used booking.com for rooms all over the world and never had a negative experience. Of course it goes without saying that you should always double check any reservations (air, hotel, car) no later than 30 days before departure and then I recheck a week out. I have 'status' with most sites so that might help also. I book everything online myself and keep all confirmations in a folder on my phone and on my laptop for easy access, And I am of 'retirement age' so no excuse about lack of technology expertise...if I can do it, anyone can.
