  1. So glad to see this. I was just on trying to buy my last excursion for my up coming trip. I got to the end and got a message my excursion was full and I would go back to the cart. The cart rolled away. Then got a confirmation email from celebrity for my excursion. So I think I have a 50 50 chance that I have an excursion.
  2. My DH and I also do not drink much but get the package. My DH likes the convenience. Also having everything prepaid makes for a more enjoyable cruise. Unfortunate having the drink package also means you don’t worry about every drink and I tend to drink more. But on the plus side I do stay hydrated because I am not thinking about how much each water costs. So for us we’re paying for peace of mind.
  3. Eden has some shows at night. They are worth seeing. Go early it fills up fast.
  4. In Massachusetts April vacation is always the week of tax day. The private schools usually have 2 weeks off in March. And as a note I have had more problems with teenagers and college kids than with the little ones. So I usually try to avoid March which is when most northern colleges have their breaks.
  5. Had laundry on my last cruise. the bag was cloth, and easily held 30 items( mostly socks and underwear ) but my husbands shorts which are a heavy material and my skirts, pants and tee shirts, all fit and came back folded nicely. also as a hint. Lay your items on the bed and take a picture before loading bag. It helps if something is missing when it comes back.
  6. I think the foot stools depend on your cabin class. Mike was in aq and I was in concierge and we both had foot stools. But I don’t know if they were in just balconies. my DH and I spent a lot of time on our balcony ( I hate the crowds at the pool) and the chairs and footstools were comfortable.
  7. I was also on this cruise and agree with everything Mike981 said. The crew was amazing and the cruise was great. I too only saw the CD a couple of times. Once was the on the last night when they did a murder mystery ( not a true murder mystery more a funny comedy act) IT WAS THE FUNNIEST show I have seen in long time.If they offer it on your cruise go see it. kiwichick62. I was doing a back to back and they had us waiting in the Tuscan restaurant where a couple was waiting. They said their flight was at 4:00 so they trying hang around and boy did they politely but firmly requested they leave at 9:00
  8. On my last cruise on the apex I didn’t even get a bill to sign in the specialty restaurant. On the reflection we ate in the lawn club(my favorite) and we added a 20 tip to the bill. The 20 never was put on our account. And as stated above there is already an 18% gratuity added.
  9. Have done both and on the s class like the hump better. On m class is SV but I find the SV on the s class to be too small and too wide open. Also the sunset bar on the s class is a good substitute for the SV balcony. I spend a lot of time there.
  10. I too have questions. i can start a thread and reply but I notice others are quoting people and liking posts and adding links. I was hoping there was a tutorial somewhere.
  11. My DH and I were doing something on the app and he couldn’t see what I was seeing. Turned out he was holding his iPad vertical and I was holding mine horizontal. Sounds silly but once he rotated his he found what he was looking for.
  12. Last year we were on summit and we were staying at a Fort Lauderdale hotel. Our hotel had a free shuttle from FLL. But we also had a 3:00 check in. Since we didn’t want to be standing in the hotel lobby for hours, we booked the Everglades excursion and got dropped off at FLL. We then got our shuttle. There are tons of taxi at the airport and you get dropped off close to them. The Everglades excursion was fun and didn’t require a lot of walking and by the time we got to the hotel our room was ready. The excursion usually drops off at both airports.
  13. Retreat is group one. When we got off they were letting off 1-10. I would check with guest relations. They ask for your flight info so I think they let early flights off early. Good luck you should be fine.
  14. Just got off apex Nov 18. We had an 11:10 flight. We took a taxi ( they are lined up there. And are a flat 20 fee. They also have rideshare which tries to get you before the taxis. We did that one time and they make you wait until the van is full so walk past them to the taxis. also have cash which is faster than a credit card) We were in group 1 and did not walk our bags off. We were through security at the airport by 8:00. HOWEVER last year we were in the third group off in Fort Lauderdale and they had an issue with immigration and we didn’t get through immigration until 8:30. We once got to the Fort Lauderdale airport and the line at security and bag drop off was so long I almost missed a 1:00 flight. When you get on the ship talk to guest relations so they put you in an early group. They are usually pretty good about that.
  15. I booked a celebrity cruise last week on apex but asked the representative if I could book a rci and was told no problem.
  16. I didn’t think it was malice I thought it was a computer glitch.
  17. Just got off the apex in Fort Lauderdale. At the airport is a room that says “too early for back drop” you can leave your bags there and then take a cab to Fort Lauderdale beach or center and do something.
  18. We had this same thing. We were in the apex ta and got and email saying we owed money on our upcoming Jan cruise. We knew the final payment was due while on the TA so we paid the balance before we left. Got an invoice from our travel agent all paid. Since we couldn’t call our travel agent decided to pay it and worry about when we got home. Tried clicking a link and said we couldn’t pay. Texted our son and told him he would have to call our travel agent and pay it. Tried emailing our travel agent but she usually doesn’t work on Sunday. Got and email right back saying our travel agency had a glitch and not to pay it. Judging by the amount they wanted I think instead of paying our travel agent her commission they sent out a bill to the client. So celebrity isn’t the only one who can mess up. Just think when AI takes over and we only deal with computer what it’s going to be like.
  19. I paid 131 for Eden (110 plus gratuity) it was totally worth it using on board credit. However I could only get it at 8:30 on one day and I ordered 3 months in advance. I am also elite and was in a suite so I am pretty sure none of those things helped. I guess if people are complaining they can’t get reservations making demand high then the natural thing is to increasing the price. This will lower the demand and eventually a happy place will reached where demand and price match.
  20. Got off apex yesterday. For those of you who are going to be taking her, I hope you have as good a time as I did. She is a beautiful ship and an outstanding crew.
  21. I am Diamond plus on Royal and my next cruise gets me to elite plus on celebrity. really wish they would combine the programs. I like the Royal ships because of the activities. Bumper cars on anthem , mini golf on all the ships. The ice shows and aqua shows. My last cruise on Royal was September 22 and the food was good. I love pizza and the buffet. No complaints in main dining room. The shows were good. Celebrity is quieter. It’s the little things like cold towels when returning to the ship. Having the towels placed on the chairs. As for points we booked jr suites for double points. And concierge on celebrity and sometimes a suite. I really try to stick with these two because of the status. We also have the credit card that we use for on board credit and have stock which also gives us $100 per cruise of onboard credit. The only thing we usually use is the laundry( we take long cruises) and the drinks. ( we are not big drinkers so two drinks a day) we don’t need the drink package. We also like the evening socials ( glad celebrity is bringing them back.) Diamond lounges on Royal are great spaces.
  22. I just got my letter. I am very happy. On my last cruise that had the happy hour event we not only connected with passengers but also had some wonderful talks with the crew. We have late dinner, the drinks and snacks were really good. It was in the sky lounge. On my last two cruises we still went to the sky lounge for pre dinner drinks but there was very few people there but still got to know the bartender. The bartender told me the sky lounge is only busy during events. Twice a cruise seems like a nice compromise in what ever venue they decide to use. It might also decrease the congestion at some of the other venues around the ship. ( I can never get near the martini bar it’s always packed)
  23. Thanks for the suggestion. I think adding water to an americano will make my DH happy
