  1. I am in the league- MSC YC or no MSC at all. Always when walking the ship - and as I was on board Seaside with this wonderfull prommenade deck and or just cruising the ship, I was always glad to be back in the calm heaven of YC.
  2. Maybe there really was something wrong with QM2´s hardware. I had no problem with WIFI on my last Transatlantic in March this year. Throughout the whole ship it worked quite well, my cabin includes.
  3. I read in our papers the other day that cruise lines- especially those cruise lines who cater more to the American passengers ( as X.... )- are struggling to get their ships full even to a limited capacity. When I read all this THAT is no small wonder. X- should first of all provide tests for their US- passengers who have to fly home at Debarkation Day- they at least should offer them for a small fee- preferably of course for free. That would be a service worthy of the cruise line Celebrity. " Modern Luxury"- my word- they should not use such Marketin phrases when they can not deliver.
  4. Thanks for all the answers - so I wait and see- what happens in Genua in four weeks.
  5. Hi mnpurple- I wish you and your party a wonderful voyage. I am boarding the Seaview in Genua at June 19th. - just five more weeks to go. I so look forward to your little reports from the Ship. I loved my YC Seaside experience last year- so I did it again- on the sister ship- the Seaview. The only question I really have is if they still test on the pier prior boarding. Thanks you for all the help. Bon voyage!
  6. A well- thanks Castro and Millie- so I guess Arthur will grace my collection soon.
  7. Great pictures richard- indeed the best cabins on board for a single traveler. I am not booking anything on QA before I see the first real pictures. The lack of a propper prommenade deck is the major desing flaw. So i wait and see- if I really love the interiour, i might try QA one day, but given the chance I stick with the other three Cunard ships.
  8. Does anyone know the cost of dear Arthur? Thx.
  9. Quite frankly- I prefer to sail solo on Cunard- I love the time I have JUST FOR MYSELF. I can do what I want, when i want. I can chat if i so choose or when in the mood...! NCL´s system sounds quite lovley-for those who want to mingle! I never attended a " single get together" wheter with Celebrity or Cunard. For me traveling solo and the solitude that comes with it- is almost a balm and ijust love it. Guess I am a bit of a loner! LOL.
  10. I thought as much 3red Cunarder- more´s the pity. I am not sure I will ever sail QA at all- well, time will tell!
  11. The single cabins on Deck 3 on board QM2 are wonderful- even though they don´t have a balcony- those two big port holes are making up for the lack of said balcony. The lack of single cabins is not what keeps from booking QA early on- it´s the very very possible lack of a propper prommenade deck- which in my book is a Cunard trademark! I sailed HAL´s Niew Statendam- there was a prommenade deck- yes- but oh my in parts very narrow and 90% of the view blocked by life boats. As QA is built on the same keel- I fear the worst in the prommenade compartment.
  12. I agree prmssk- even though a quarantaine is never an ideal situation, it seems much more bearable when spent in a balcony cabin- fresh air and not feeling totaly enclosed! With Cunard you can make your own tea or coffee ( I always bring a few teabags, just in case- but I am tea grazy- so thats the reason for that. LOL.)
  13. In this day and age with so many balcony cabins on most all of the ships - they should set aside balcony cabins for possible quarantaine cases- and they do- at least Cunard does. After reading so many negativ reports how X is handling those quarantaine cases I sure will avoid them for the forseeable future!
  14. I can only speak for Cunard- on my TA in March when passengers got tested postiv they all went into quarantaine in BALCONY CABINS! No matter what cabin they had in the first place. Quarantaine without a balcony should and is not the done thing! Terrible idea! I also agree, that step by step C-19 should be treated as cold- 99% - thanks to vaccination - are even milder then the usual flu.
  15. Sorry i got mixed up- there is no " Victoria" bear- a slight missleading headline- I am about to get a few bears starting with the QV Maiden Voyage Bear.
  16. Thanks blue marble- I found " Victoria" on this famous internet auction house- there where some of Victoria´s " liter - availlable. Now I will look at Arthurs forbears.
  17. I did not even know that there is a new bear breed every year. I just read about " Victoria" and " Percy"- and of course now Arthur! Thinking about geting Victoria and Percy from -ähem- an internet store. I have to check what Nephew dear already has- i bought it in 2016 or so! Has anyone any insight about the long line of Arthurs forbears?
  18. Can´t write about the Beyond- have yet to book a voyage on Beyond. I was on the Maiden Voyage of Apex- and that was very very special cruise. I was not all to eager to go on the new Edge Class. The Edge Class has so many different venues - so there is something for everyone I would say. I was in a SV- as soon as the cabin steward introuduced himself I asked for a nice Lounge Chair- 10 minutes later it was there. Staff and service where impecable. I even got a towel layed out on my private lounger by my cabin steward. LOL. But did not like and wont like it on Beyond either, is Eden- a wonderful venue- in matters of location and layout. BUT- the furniture and colors- some love it- I rather think it as kind of 70s style gone terribly wrong. They have outdoors spaces on both sides of the ship- also great- but those chairs- those colors. Uhhh- as I recall they changed some of the chairs on the balcony cabins- on Apex they where all gathered around the upper level in Eden. Well- I guess they had to put them somehwere- could hardly throw them over board. ( Where they belong... ) I think 90% of the passengers love the new Martini Bar- I most certainly do not. NOT AT ALL. Loud, crowded and I don´t care for the show the bar staff puts on- neither do I need the Captain behind said bar and joining the show. But that´s just me! The four dining room conept is great- Roof Top Garden - also has a little furniture problem. Sunset Bar- great! Curious about the new Sunset Bar on Beyond. Will I sail- yes I will- someday. Maybe a TA next year.
  19. Hi Arthur- one of your "forebears" still has the pleasure to sit in my - now aged 12 - nephews room. I shall say hello from him. He is still much valued and cherrished!
  20. Thank you, for reporting back to us- rusky123- I am rather glad to read, that everything is well. I am saling the Seaview in late June- out of Genova. Also in YC. The YC experience was really great last year on board the Seaside- so I thought to try another ship on a different route. The YC experience and the non YC- experience are totaly different thing- I have to be honest- I would book with MSC NOT in YC. I was sometimes rather glad to be back in YC- after exploring the really nice ship. Maybe a bit to modern for my taste- but nice nevetheless!
  21. I totaly agree- and that fact is the reason that many cruisers hesitate to book in these uncertain times. The cruise lines should - at least- clearly stating what happens in the " worst case scenario" ( tested positive on board) - islolation - balcony, own cabin or OV.
