  1. A bit more wear and tear at the outside may be excuseable, broken seats, public toilet doors that seems to fall appart when closing or opening are not. Anyway I can´t wait to board my favorite ship out there in April 2023 . For me it´s is the same with beloved family members, they may be a bit of a bother but one still loves them to pieces. LOL.
  2. I learned during my very first cruise with MSC YC that no Italian ship will have a deck 17- it equals deck 13 on other ships. So if one is superstious one can choose ....! LOL.
  3. Let´s hope it´s just the marbles in the celling and not some workers who got trapped there while construction the ship. Oh - wrong timing- Halloween is already done and over with.
  4. Oh for heavens sake- YOU ARE ON A SHIP ON THE OPEN SEA! Haveing sailed through many a storm i know ( and love) the sound a ship makes. How loud - and for some disturbing it gets, depends were the waves hit the hull, how rough the sea is and so and so forth. Guest Relations- how on earth can they help- telling the ship to be quite- telling the sea to get smother AT ONCE?
  5. I agree to those wo mentioned that the Edge Class is not built for " X- Veterans"- LOL. I could not agree more! I sailed the Apex on her Maiden Voyage and even though the cruise itself was remarkable, I will not go back to an E- Class ship anytime soon. When entereing the ship we got such warm and and fond welcome it was most touching, indeed- what with the senior officers standing in the entrance and clapping and shouting welcome back - which makes that Maiden Voyagen really unforgetable! The ship itself- hm- some nice places there for sure- but not my ship- not AT ALL. To loud, to noisy - Eden a good idea- just the wrong design for my taste. Who designed that very room was either just off their meds or forgot to take them at all. My opinion , of course. We had an SV- which was the best cabin i ever had - but they rare - very rare-and hard to get- since most of all other cabins have these newfangled verandahs. To many lounges indoors- without a view out to the sea. Martini Bar - a once wonderful place- ruined- it has become a loud and noisy- Party venue- nothing else. So I suppose the designed the Edge Class for a new cruise generation- which of course from the business point of view is absolut the right turn.
  6. Not good, when you look forward to the destinations. It wouldn´t bother me at all though- as long as I am on board, safe and sound and enjoying the late night departure. Happend in New York on the QM2 years ago- there was an oil spill on the pier while the ship took on fuel. So the departure was delayd some 6 or so hours. The nighttime departure leaving the NY Skyline behind was nothing short of magnificent!
  7. I can not agree more George C- the old layout and furniture of Michael´s Club or The Retreat is much nicer and much more luxuiros then those cold grey rooms they created. Is Michael´s Club on board Constellation still open for evey quest or is it only for suite guests with the old furniture?
  8. I agree- oh my - what did write- slippers- i meant slippery of course. Then I forgot the word " sign"- i really should proof read my posts. Sorry!
  9. Every deck get´s slippers when wet- the have those around ships for a reason. QV and QE´s prommenade deck is what I consider a true prommenade. QMs´s prommenade is hard to beat.
  10. I have to agree- even though Milli Class ships are and ever will be my favorite class of X- Ships, the location of Tuscany on board the S- Class is hard to beat! The Elite breakfast comes esp. in handy on Transatlantic- when I just want a small breakfast- due to sleeping in and waiting for Lunch. Great nice relaxed place to start the day. I also loved to sit there on board Millenium when it had still this georgous Olympic Restaurant. So classy!
  11. Ah good, maybe that gives them time to rethinking the prommenade deck plans. LOL. Sorry though for those who were booked on the canceled Maiden Voyage!
  12. I was also told the beds have been replaced also because the Infinity was the ship where all infected staff members were brought to. Sofa- well- quite honestly- I did not sit on it for a single minute- so I can´t tell about that. I would sail the Edgeized Millenium or Summit - but unfortunatly they are sailing not in " my waters" , so to speak.
  13. The beds on board Infinity were heavenly - firm- brand new- as I was told my our cabin steward.
  14. Deck Chair- that picture with the kindle on the deck chair could have been taken by me! LOL.
  15. I agree with deck chair- no prommenade deck- no sailings for me on the Queen Anne. If I want that- I can stick with HAL´s new ships. Having sailed Niew Statendam I know how that so called prommenade Deck looks. It may be a walkway around the ship- with nice and reassuring view of lifeboats. ( They are really there when needed-- reassuring- LOL.)
  16. @Op- where did you get this information- we visited Belize Oct. 11 this year. during our cruise on board Infinity. We did not see much damage - but - well- we just walked a bit around.
  17. Is the entrance of Tuscan on board Summit in different location than on board Infinity? I always thought on the other side of the restaurant was the galley?
  18. Exactly why Apex- Edge Class - is not made for me. I , too, love to be connected to the sea, when on board a ship. I want to see the sea- I want to " feel" the sea...! Most lounges- okay- to be fair- many lounges are indoors, without even a window. So I keep fingers crossed that X- sticks to M- Class ships for a few more years, before they go either to the scrappers or sold to " Cheap- Cruise Lines"!
  19. Ah - thanks Miami- so it is down on deck 3 on board Connie- did not sail Connie since they removed Ocean Liners.
  20. Oh I rather liked Little Petite Chef- fun when dining in a group or at least as couple. Alone- rather not. The location of Qusine is terrible on board Infinity. It took the space formerly used either as flower shop or Sports Bar I can´t say which.
  21. Why not just wait and see, when the ship comes out? I thought the OP already sailed the ship, but then I found out- reading further - that the ship is still under construction. 😳
  22. On my crossing in March the open dining worked pretty well. I asked always for a table just for myself and since I liked the location and the waiters on the very first evening- i asked to be seated right there every evening- worked like charm. Different story, when single travelers seek company. Anyway not one voyage I sailed solo that i did not find agreeable company around the ship.
  23. Thanks for your review- I have been on the same cruise. Can agree with everyting - we do not take part in activities, so I can not say much about them. What your review brought to mind, that I forgot in my review to mention that the pool deck experience- deck staff- bringing cold towels around, drinks service wasjust great, the best in years.
  24. Thank you for your responses. I agree- the layout when the M- Class ships came out was more to my liking, too- esp. the transformation of the Spec. Restaurants was a huge step down. Even though- i have to admit- when i saw Tuscany Grill instead of the United States Restaurant I thought the room looked really nice. What I did not like - but that´s just me- is that tunnel like entrance. LOL.
