  1. 25 % off, and they raised the prices midway through our cruise!
  2. Ocean bar around 4pm. Very long wait for attention from bar staff.
  3. It's all in the eyes of the beholder. We weren't bored in the evenings. We loved Bb King show and thought this one was outstanding. We are late diners, so that may have something to do with never being bored.
  4. Personally, I found it very salty. I drank gallons of water after that.
  5. We recently returned from a nice cruise. It was a fully sold out cruise, however, and we felt that. The sea days were mobbed and the only reprieve was when we were in port. Our cabin was fine, it was a window on deck one which my husband loved, since we just climbed the stairs to the Dutch Cafe and Club Orange. Speaking of Club Orange, it was wonderful to have that quiet restaurant for 2 weeks. The food was good and the staff was outstanding. They all received an excellent review from us. We were happy to avoid the wait times and crowds in the main dining room. We were happy to have the have it all package. I would have been miserable had we depended on happy hours. Staff in there was extremely slow. The entertainment was lacking, but the BB King band was excellent on this ship. We miss the live music in the Ocean Bar. Speaking of music, it was very loud, at all times by the pool. I couldn't hear myself think, and as a reader, it was terribly distracting. The deli came in handy for lunch. I couldn't bear the Lido on this trip. I went once for lunch, and saw a woman place her hands on food that was not supposed to be touched, and that ended it for me. The ports were all beachy, HMC, Grand Turk, Nassau, St. Thomas, etc. We've seen them all but really do enjoy being back. I do think this is our last Caribbean cruise, since we've been so much, and there is so much in the world left to see. Since we are in Florida, we don't necessarily need the beaches. It was a nice break, though, and we did enjoy so much about this cruise. The staff was probably the best I've ever seen, and friendly to boot. Lovely people, really. Some people got special recognition from us and it was well deserved.
  6. And, I forgot to put my travels on this site. Sorry. Off to NS Statendam for 2 weeks collector cruise on Sat. Feb. 4. I will report back to you wonderful people when I return. I am very psyched about this; NS is one of my faves! We are in Florida but think of all of you with this deep freeze coming. Stay safe and well, and warm and inside. x
  7. Don't you think that they should change it? It's so annoying to listen to for a long time while you are waiting for them to answer your call. It think it's time they put something else together that isn't so jarring.
  8. The titles of threads like these are sort of like rubberneckers on a highway. Made ya look. Doesn't accomplish anything but just attention grabbers.
  9. Thanks for your review. I have lost patience with chair hogs. I will personally remove the towels and books and have a seat. I cruise soon and I paid for a seat, too.
  10. I agree about the shore excursions. The shore excursion desk has limited hours, too, and sometimes a long line. To be fair, some people seem to take forever when they get attention at the desk. Thank you for your review. Sorry you were disappointed in several areas of your experience.
  11. But, wait, I live in FL most the year, so if I lived inland I might feel differently.
  12. Agree. TA cruises are a different animal. But, if you are in a port intensive situation, I see no negatives here. I'll take an obstructed balcony any day of the week on a TA, but European cruise, save your money and sail inside. Lots of savings. We think it's smart in the Caribbean too. Who stays inside the cabin all day long, not me.
  13. The ship is not huge. The Royal Caribbean cruise ships are huge. I see no reason to stay away from an inside as long as you realize there is no sofa, no chair, and no verandah. Once you get past that, the price is right and you just sleep there, and shower there, and enjoy the wonderful ship.
  14. Unless it's sold out. You can't get upgrades or upsells then.
  15. Get a J category mid ship on 6th level. Nice and quiet. We do verandahs to insides and just like a quiet location. That's very exciting..that trip!
  16. This is good to know. I am going to the booking podium upon arrival soon. The lunches are now sold out but it wasn't always the case. Thanks for the info.
  17. And then they get upgrades to verandahs. These are people who say they've never spent a minute in the casinos. However, I bet they've gambled somewhere along the way. There is something missing in these stories. What else is new.
  18. Welcome to the New Holland America Gambling Casino Cruises! Gonna do the bus run through the Caribbean whilst you have a chance to play the slots!!! All you can eat, all you can drink, and all you can gamble, morning, noon, and night. It is the wave of the future before our eyes.
