  1. Past final. It seemed to come with the booking. I saw no extra charges. Odd indeed.
  2. For the very first time, we will have club orange on our next cruise. I have no idea why, since I didn't ask for it in the booking process. I have no need of priority boarding or tendering but they have kind of a nifty carryall bag that I'll be sure to use. As far as dining goes, I'm pretty much open to new experiences, so that should be fine by us. I know you can upgrade within your cat. but I'm pretty much where I want to be right now.
  3. Besides, the wait is so long to see them. I gave up a long time ago and do my own research.
  4. You put yourself at risk just going out of your house. Flu, colds, covid, not to mention other viruses. I could just stay home but that would get boring and then I'd have nothing to talk about. Travel has a way of lighting up my world.
  5. I personally love the Pinnacle class...all shiny and new. Dutch Cafe and all that. But, our favorite cruises were on the transatlantic in the past. Many more activities and special treatment overall. The Captains ball on the Maasdam is a fond memory. Endless lobster and shrimp and crab legs set up as a tree in the main dining room as a treat. People talk about cutbacks on this forum, and of course there are, but we've had alot of fun and continue to do so on HAL.
  6. There were times when the bartenders could tell how many you've had. Not just by looking at you but at the computer. I think on our last cruise there was a couple exceeding their drink total of 15 and it was my personal opinion that they should be told to go to bed. They were in the bag, so to speak.
  7. Very negative. It's a shame. Maybe you should go on adult-only vacations.
  8. And to add, going forward, with winter approaching, I would guess that ships will be sailing fairly full soon, after the holidays.
  9. Really boring, too. I like all that jazzed up honky tonk music and wish they'd loosen up their neckties in Seattle.
  10. Depends on the value of your clothing. Laundry on this ship is a good deal and I wouldn't sweat it.
  11. Interesting. I can go either way. Met some great people but met some not so great. My husband doesn't want to be bothered and doesn't like to answer questions at dinner, so I respect that we stay to ourselves. He's different on shore excursions and loves people but dinner is a different story.
  12. You can sneak in there if you are really lucky on odd days of the week. Just kidding, always available but I am willing to bet I'll beat you to it. I love it there!
  13. Maybe HAL should stop selling cruises with KW as a port. They've done it with us even though it's been well known for YEARS that KW doesn't want the ships anymore.
  14. I am so sorry to hear all this. Without going on about my life, just hoping my beloved husband and I have a better experience in Feb.
  15. That's a great deal of noise. I am always surprised at the door slammers,, especially at 6 in the morning. I assume they are headed out for coffee. It's rude.
  16. Signs are usually ignored. Rules for thee and not for me, as the saying goes.
  17. I do like that ship but agree with those discussing time in ports. It always galls me that it's all aboard at 230 when at Half Moon. The most beautiful beach of all and we don't have enough time there. I like the European cruises with the long days in Port. We aren't going there right now because we don't want to be quarantined in Europe. But, I do miss those cruises.
  18. There was no mention of this on the past few cruises we've taken. Yes, they were enjoyable while they lasted. Free wine and all that.
  19. When we've had bad service, or no service at all, we've just gotten up and left. Someone always comes running over like they've never seen anything like this before. We've also left when the MDR is so loud you can't hear your dining companion. When we cruise, we like it a bit elegant and not like a lousy restaurant. We can stay home for that.
  20. Great addition to the ships. I never eat the pastries but their grilled cheese sandwich is to die for. Not to mention the quiche. Seriously great staff. Nothing better.
  21. Don't let them bring you down. Go forward and enjoy.
