  1. I'm glad you posted this, Every week I start the sign in process to get a time, with the hope that I can make it on board. I almost forgot this week. And I did get 11:30. Last week I think I got noon. Cannot wait for this treatment to be over and this nasty disease to be gone.
  2. This isn't Carnival. They do have 2 azipods.
  3. one thing that we enjoyed about westbound, and didn't like about eastbound , is the time changes. Like 25 hour days, not 23 hour days.
  4. My real reason for the TA was the opportunity to go see Europe, and not have to fly home. And we loved sea days, so it worked for us.
  5. We were on our third cruise in 2003 , I said I want to go to Europe and cruise back. That was on Connie. From England. The next 2 years on Millennium from BCN, then Century again BCN, the we switched from Celebrity to Navigator for our first B2B , eastern Med plus TA to Fl. Stayed with Royal after that.
  6. I really like westbound TA's , but the ones that go there usually are going to the Northeast for the fall leaf season. The Connie cruise left Dover, UK for NYC. We were living in Ct at the time, so it was handy for us. Not so much now. But, never say never. WE did our first eastbound in 2019. DW said I want to go on a cruise. I said "Hey look, how about TPA to AMS", only a month or so before the cruise. No planning, just go. Had a great time.
  7. Just got back from my radiation appointment. Thursdays, the Dr checks my progress, and he was impressed with the progress with the lumps decrease in size. Tuesda they will do scan, and he expects a big reduction in the power of the radiation to concentrate on eradicating the cancer. Now eating what I can, supplemented by PEG tube feedings.
  8. My experience, sadly, is the people that answer the phones are the last to know anything.
  9. RCI has people identified as lifeguards by the pools and when not crowded I have seen them practicing getting disabled swimmers out of the pool and administering lifesaving attention. The will have a sign indicating they are training. Does that make them not real.
  10. Our first TA on Celebrity Constellation was supposed to call at Reykjavik, but the Captain had a bad weather report, so we went to Vigo, Spain instead. We were bummed to not go, but that happens when cruising. Never did get there.
  11. On our last cruise, DW had 2 casino certificates, that I got open booking for. Then I ended up with the cancer thing, so we haven't done anything with that. We'll have to look into this.
  12. I am are still dealing with issue with swallowing food. We did receive a delivery of food for my peg tube last night, so I feel better having the option of receiving nutrition when I cannot swallow. Good news is that my health insurance is paying for the food.
  13. Rental cars are equipped with the necessary devices to handle tolls, and the charges should show up in your invoice.
  14. We had an outside corner aft balcony on Celebrity Millennium for a trans Atlantic. Biggest balcony we have ever had with multiple loungers.
  15. Ice cream is good. My mouth is very dry. I have a speccial mouthwash for that. DW flushes the feeding tube twice a day with water, I am not dehydrated. For years, she has said drink more water. Now, she just pours it into the tube.
  16. When I wake up, I wonder if i will be able to swallow today. I take my morning meds, I can swallow. Today is a success. I figure I am good for the day.
  17. Thanks. My chemo is about over, but still have a lot of Radiation to go. It is getting a lot more difficult to swallow. We are basically one day at a time. They will do a cat scan day after Labor day to measure the progress of the treatment.
  18. Actually commercial aircraft currently being used only require a flight crew of 2 officers to operate the airplane. Only long range flights require additional flight crew to relieve the pilots.
