  1. Love the Radiance class!!! I'll take a classic ship any day, even with some age on her, over the mega ships with theme parks onboard
  2. I wish late dining was still at least 815 or 830. 745 is just a bit early for me. At home I eat at about 2 and then at 9. And never breakfast, just lots of caffeine.
  3. Except on Allure, which has the best lounge in the fleet IMHO. Great view, relatively spacious
  4. I have friends who are doing the MP trip and posting on facebook. They are having a great time and posting wonderful photos. Kevin and Katherine are the couple. They get off in LA, just in time to fly home to Vegas to go the the Super Bowl the next day, lol.
  5. Rent and Book of Mormon and Hamilton and Wicked and MJ the musical are some of my favorites.
  6. Thanks! Solo here too. I like to do second one on Italian night and not do second cruise night. I'm okay with doing the first one on night one. I will likely do Chops and Jamie's or maybe Izumi. Not a fan of Wonderland. Once was enough, lol. I've already booked Jamie's for first day lunch since I don't do buffets and like to start cruise with a good lunch in a relaxed atmosphere.
  7. Does anyone know policy on Harmony OTS recently? Sailing next month
  8. I'm 72 as of last month and take nothing I would be allowed to bring on the ship, just gummies to sleep, which I have to get by without on trips. So I sleep about 4 hours a night instead of 6 1/2 or 7.
  9. Why not stick to your scheduled time? It is common courtesy to avoid big crowds and waits. I always check in right at midnight to get my chosen time. Anyone can do that if the boarding time matters to them. I cruise about half the time out of LA and they definitely check there. It makes for such a smooth process. You are on the ship within 20 minutes usually.
  10. I have been on her four times this year, first was in May, and last ended Dec. 4th. Every one of them they had clearly marked lines for the various times. I always get the 10:30 time and get there around 10:15. Someone tried last time to get in the wrong line and they were directed to the correct one. You show your sea pass on phone or printed when you walk up. They send you to the right line. They always start at about 10:20 with any pinnacles and then the 10:30 line. Because they enforce the boarding times there is never a big crowd in the check in area and I am always on board the ship by 10:50 to 11:00. It works. If you were allowed on outside your boarding time it was an anomaly or they were caught up and were letting people on since no one was in the earlier lines. But at 10:30 there are always people in the 10:30, 11, and 11:30 lines.
  11. Fortunately LA (San Pedro) strictly enforces boarding times with separate lines. It makes it go so smoothly!
  12. OP says they don't use phone because "get along fine with wifi" so assumed they did.
  13. It is how I always call at sea when I have the wifi. In settings just turn on wifi calling. Works for texting and regular cell calls.
  14. All you need to do if you have wifi is set your phone for wifi calling. Then you are using internet for the calls instead of your phone
  15. And what about the corporate ethics and morality? Sorry, but if we just go along with it, including raising it twice in a year while simultaneously reducing many services, we are just condoning it.
  16. Which is why I always carry cash and tip everyone I want to tip in cash. But I do that in land based places too. I want the staff to be able to put in their own pocket, not have the employer decide when and what they get.
  17. Sorry, but a tip or gratuity is intended for those you have direct interaction with. I tip the maid in my hotel room, but NOT the laundry people and I will do the same on a cruise.
  18. I have used at least 10 times. Never a problem. Very friendly drivers.
  19. I just got off Navigator yesterday. I did great specialty lunches for less than the cost of a quarter pounder meal at McDonald's but I booked in advance on Black Friday. I loved the fast service in the MDR and had two amazing servers. I never, ever eat in the buffet on the ship or ones on land. I saw all the shows I wanted by going at 7 or 10 since dinner was at 8. I had only three negatives. The pizza was not good like on a ship with Sorrento's, children were out of control with parents nowhere in sight and the ship staff just ignored it, and the non-smoking section was tiny in the casino with 14 of the few machines there shut down, and no enforcement of the no smoking, although I did persuade some to leave by pointing out the signs that were posted. The first night they announced a few times that smoking was ONLY allowed while actively playing, but then never said it again and did not stopped those who just came in to use the casino as a smoking room. But the diamond lounge concierge was wonderful, all the bartenders were great (love the Bamboo Room!), and my room was perfect. So I give the cruise a 90%. I already booked another and currently have 5 booked in 2024. Love cruising even with a few imperfections.
  20. Both times I ate there for lunch I did that. I don't eat sushi, so there are 2 apps I love and then I do the beef dish for my main and the green tea mochi ice cream for dessert. They have never questioned it. I prefer ships that have the teppanyaki table though, as I love that!!! And I always order She's a Geisha for my drink
  21. The captain told us in May that it would be done in late 2025. Hate the idea of losing my favorite diamond (crown) lounge and having those hideous slides added.
  22. They still have life boat limits. When they are reached, no one can be added.
  23. Love, love love Cats, both the story and the music.
