  1. All on board 7:30p Windjamner closes 8:30p 🤔 Think it could be a little later tonight, given that the last 2 tour busses squeezed through the gates at 7:15! Currently sitting out the back of the WJ, perfect temperature… what they need back here is a proper bar. Just saying.
  2. PV Bus tickets. In @twangster ‘s pic of Walmart you can see the small white block building were you exit the port and you are on the road. The busses will stop by the 🚦 traffic lights
  3. Not always. Ours were waiting on the bed when we got to the cabin. There’s a new style Anthem on eBay for $199 plus postage 😮
  4. So; after doing Cayman transportation for free ( also known as walking); Cartagena for $15, and Huatalco for free, it was now time for a cheap day in PV.** Walk out of the port and you are on the main road opposite Walmart/Sam’s. Busses will be heading into town. They say Centro. The fare is 20pesos for 2 ( that’s $1.11 or £0.88p!). It’s a long bus ride, close to 25 minutes. We got off just over the Rio Cuale. Walked around and then started back along the Malecon. The further you got away from the main area, the nicer it got. We have not been to PV for 19 years. It sadly has definitely lost its character and charm. We stopped for lunch and beer, walked done more and caught the bus back. Another 20 pesos. A quick trip round the huge Walmart then back on board. At $2.22 this was a bargain! We noticed on boarding a smell of fresh paint! The scratch marks had been painted over!
  5. Somewhere we were looking at : Iberiarestaurants.com Portuguese wine is excellent sorry @xpcdoojk we are detracting from your thread! Over to you… 😉
  6. The coach goes from BLQ but there is a high speed rail shuttle between the train station and the airport. There are very few taxis in Ravenna
  7. We are also staying in TRYP prior to our Jewel cruise… don’t forget about the excellent Portuguese restaurants in Newark Ferry St area
  8. Oops you’ve got a pic of me again!! You forgot all those who have been stuck in the deck 5 sweatshop the entire trip making a quilt or something! Or those who have sat in the solarium playing cards all cruise
  9. Went to Samba a few days ago. Whilst most of the meat was good ( 2 of the cheaper steaks were ropey compared to the final filet) - we were very disappointed in the side offerings; rice, beans and some fried stuff. What really would have been nice to compliment the meat was a large crisp salad 🥗 imho. The small goats cheese and tomato started was delicious. This was the 2nd of our BOGO pre purchased for one person, before the cruise, and then the date moved several times on board. They didn’t bat an eyelid and we were presented with $0.00 bill as expected.
  10. The 3G/4G signal in port was terrible for us. We connect to Moviestar and it constantly dropped out! Even the restaurant Wi-Fi was rubbish! Had to wait until back on board to post… and that’s saying something! I don’t even have a phone signal connection in my cabin 😐
  11. We walked to the little inland village of La Crucecita. There is a wide path, lined with trees, flowers, lights and benches. It’s about a 10 min stroll over the slight hill. You find the start of the Corridora Touristica opposite the Holiday Inn just next to the pink building. A little village with a square, church, tourist restaurants and shops. It was very busy with families so I’m guessing May 1st is a holiday here too. We walked back to the beach, it was hot, beer time! Swam, had lunch, and swam some more. The water was very warm. Joined in port by the NCL Sun. Many crew were enjoining beach time too as it was so close and accessible Even our Captain went paddle boarding
  12. Yes, considerably better… it curves and it has light, and different levels. Shorter and more focal points.
  13. I went on Apex twice just to double check … as I couldn’t understand why I disliked her so much lol! Agree… love Silhouette.
  14. Personally I found Apex rather soulless… everything was the same, no vibe, over stylised, bland colours, uncomfortable chairs, and definitely not enough bars, … however I did really like the 4 dining room set up. And the swimming pool was one of the biggest I’ve seen on a ship. I went on her twice.
  15. Do you know if we are going to get any 25th anniversary c&a goodies… need to save space in my suitcase!
  16. We had an excellent Pinnacle lunch today with a fillet 🥩 that equalled the one offered in Giovannis imho. Wine 🍷 offerings were much improved too. MDR back on form tonight… the Thai chicken had a kick to it and the pork chop was good. The Greek spinach pie is much bigger than before.
  17. Oasis has so much unusable space in the hissing rain … essentially Boardwalk and Central Park are out which excludes huge areas forcing over crowding elsewhere. And all the plants 🌱 would die ! Dislike Freedom class intensely due to lack of visibility of the sea and that closed in shoebox of a Royal Promenade.
