  1. I'm on the Sky Princess the first cruise after it's trans-Atlantic in November and noticed that the first Arrival Group is listed as 1 PM - 1:30 PM which seems.... late. The last one for group G is 4 PM - 4:30 PM but the ship is listed to leave Port Everglades at 4 PM. Just trying to get ducks in rows and not be surprised with a sudden late departure.
  2. We prefer Capri or Santorini (if available) over Amalfi. Amalfi always seems difficult to get to because you can't walk straight back on Fiesta Deck.
  3. When I saw that China was welding people into their apartment buildings (early February?), I decided to go to our local pharmacy to try to get some masks. I ran into a woman in the same aisle. We didn't mention what we were looking for, but kind of locked eyes and both left empty handed. When I ran into her later at our local hardware store doing the same thing, that's when I started to worry.
  4. The Crown to Alaska did not have an MDR open for embarkation. The only options were the buffet, international Cafe, Slice or Salty Dog. The woman taking orders at Salty Dog told me that the buffet was open and we said that we wanted Salty Dog instead. I agree that the staff does try to push you to the buffet and, although it might be lying by omission, it still doesn't make sense for whatever reason.
  5. I'm on the Sky Princess in a couple months and started keeping an eye on it's current location just to see if there's anything I should be potentially aware of (after a last minute cancelled cruise on the NCL Gem, I developed this out of habit). I noticed the Sky goes from Southampton to NYC on September 24-Oct 5.... then back from NYC to Southampton on Oct 5 - Oct 19. It does a 10 day Canary Island cruise and then on Oct 29 goes back to Ft Lauderdale from Southampton. That seems like a lot of back and forth, doesn't it?
  6. I go back and forth as far as DMW w/ the same wait staff. We were on the Crown a bit ago and had fantastic waiters and dreadful ones. I know my opinion of my cruise would have been lessened if I was stuck w/ the dreadful one for an entire cruise. It's also nicer to get to know some new people as well.
  7. I think the big question is - what happens in 24 days when the Covid Protection Program ends? Is this Princess's pivot to treating COVID like they did the flu/common cold/norovirus before? A health questionnaire where you solemnly swear I have none of these symptoms? We were on the Crown a couple weeks back to Alaska and masked until we hit Juneau. Dinner service at Juneau only had one MDR open so they were filling all tables. When we were elbow to elbow with hundreds of other people unmasked we kind of went.... what's the point?
  8. We were on the Crown two weeks ago - it's all Plus eligible. Also, we were on the Sky in November, Enchanted in March and Crown in August. No t-shirts for any of them. I don't think the t-shirts are coming back (and with the new expanded menu, they may not want people trying to drink them all)
  9. which is crazy because I thought the T&Cs said they'd keep drawing until they found someone.
  10. We only won $25 on OBC. We'll never buy it again.
  11. HI all - we're starting to try to set up in stone our excursions for our April 2023 cruise with Princess. We want a snorkel/beach day and, rather than taking a Princess excursion or trying to squeeze in a 3rd party excursion, we think we might steal an idea from @PescadoAmarillo and take the #25 Maui bus to Whaler's Village and walk to Black Rock for a beach/snorkel day. We noticed one of the restaurants we want to try is in Whaler's Village as well (Monkeypod Kitchen) - our question is... I'll most likely be in sandals, swimsuit bottoms and a circa 2016 Panama Canal Princess t-shirt and my partner will be in a swimsuit cover-up. (All clothing items will be tasteful, we might be young(ish) but we're not trashy) My thought process is "this is a place essentially on a beach, so people visiting in beach wear probably happens" but I also know this strip of land is very ritzy. How welcome will we feel in beach wear dining at Whalers Village from a scale of "remember the scene in Pirates of the Caribbean where the pirates are hanging from the rocks?" to "aloha"?
  12. I was just on the Crown (Aug 20-27) and we were at 1998/whatever the capacity was. About 70% though
  13. We went to the cage and they asked if I wanted my freeplay in slots or at the tables. I said the slots and the freeplay goes into somewhat of a second bank. For isntance, if I had $100 of freeplay, loaded $10 of my freeplay into the machine, bet $1 and profited $.60 from that one spin, my accounts would be as follows.... $90 in my freeplay "bank" $9.60 on the machine If I were to "cash out" the following would occur. $9 of the money on the machine goes back into the freeplay "bank" $.60 goes into my "bank". So the accounts would then be $99 in freeplay "bank" $.60 in my "bank"
  14. No, we wanted to and were told we could only use it for the cruise and would have to pay for the tour part out of pocket.
  15. We don’t get into Juneau until 2 PM so it’s half port, half sea day haha

  17. We are currently on the Crown and it’s tomorrow (Juneau) in Da Vinci.
  18. I don't believe it will - when you access the internet on a Princess cruise it either recognizes you via the Medallion app or via going to <shipname>.princess.com to authenticate you - neither of which I believe work on the firestick. Also, the internet has been... poor since about March of 2022.
  19. Thank you for the explanation! Our only other Alaska cruise was out of San Francisco on the Grand (with Ketchikan as the first port) so that explains the difference in pathing.
  20. Anyone that's been on the adjusted sailings - did the Crown sail the inside passage on the way back to Victoria/Seattle?
  21. The Crown goes through a drydock in... October? I believe? I'd wait for dry dock to be completed.
  22. We’re sticking with the Crown only because we have never been to Glacier Bay.

  24. Princess is being sneaky! Our itinerary has changed on the website for ours. 25. So - anyone who has been following the Crown this Alaska season knows about the trouble she's been having making the original port schedule (and even the modified one). Princess changed the schedule for May/June/July itineraries but not August. We're on the Crown August 20 and the Journeyview stuff has started to populate. I found it a little odd that they're showing movies in the Theater the entire day we're in Skagway so I am anticipating our itinerary to look much like the June/July itinerary.
