  1. Just under 3 months for us. Seems like forever. 😂 Congrats! 😁
  2. Thanks to Patricia and all the contributors here. Really appreciate it. 🙂
  3. LOVE it! Thanks for sharing, Laura. Looks like the 30+ ft seas we had on our way to Bermuda 20+ years ago. What an exciting journey this must be for those who don’t aren’t prone to seasickness. 🙂
  4. Money man in charge: “There’s an awful lot of free drinking happening on the WC. Those loyalty tiers are going to drink us into bankruptcy.” Minion: “I will take care of that,” as he cancels liquor orders at several port stops. “Bwahahaha!” All kidding aside, my husband would be ready for a mutiny if he couldn’t get his wine. 😬😂 Hopefully the ship will get restocked in the next port of call.
  5. Thanks for doing this. 🙂 I’ve grabbed several for my recipe app. Always looking to add great drinks.
  6. Does anyone besides me remember when some of us were pining for tipping threads during the Covid shutdown? What on earth were we thinking?! 🤦‍♀️🤦‍♀️🤦‍♀️
  7. That would be an issue in some Italian towns, if you are off ship and using public transport. I’ve seen too many posts of pics where the police boarded buses or trains and required passports, fining anyone not carrying theirs. 🤷🏻‍♀️ Very recent posts. And for some of the police, copies won’t do. People were fined carrying copies.
  8. We sailed southern Caribbean on Celebrity Beyond (yes, I know, not RCI, but RCI sails southern Caribbean too), and we never noticed any dropping of service. It was excellent. Glad to see Odyssey TA has good service. Thanks to all who shared their experiences.
  9. So to wear when you come back from the polar plunge? 😀🙃 In Antarctica?
  10. We probably have to wait and see what happens. Maybe RCI is doing the same before making a decision. A lot of logistics go into planning this, and RCI has discovered that short cruises have a really nice profit margin for the company (less than 7 day cruises). I do know that, from time to time, someone interested in a long cruise covering many ports can cobble together a really nice long repositioning cruise. May not cover as much as this one, but an adventure can still be had.
  11. That’s how I read it too. 🙂 I read it as some were ready to move on to a new chapter. 🤷🏻‍♀️ This is not the same, but we saved a year’s worth of living expenses and sold our home, moved to TN with no job prospects at all. Just knew we would rent for a year and work it out. 18 years later, our current (retirement) home is paid for, we retire next spring from good jobs, and have no regrets on our adventure. 🤷🏻‍♀️ We knew this was what we wanted to do. Some thought we were crazy, but everyone’s “comfort zone” is different. 🙂 Cheers to the UWC cruisers on their adventure! May it be everything you hoped for!! 😁
  12. You guys might want to turn off notifications, and just read when you have time. Hoping the weather today has straightened out for you! 🙂
  13. None of us get all the offers. 🤷🏻‍♀️ I get many but didn’t get this one.
  14. I agree. Always read the fine print. Sometimes onboard spend is covered, sometimes not. I didn't get the offer at this point, so I can't check.
  15. I haven't added the insurance in a long time, but as long as all of the payment reflects as a payment to RCI itself, that should cover it.
  16. We will too. 🙂 Hope you and I both get the offer!
  17. 😂🤣 We have gotten offers for RCI, NCL, Celebrity and others on two cards more than once. We are users on several of each others cards, and both users have received the points offers, and gotten the points. Believe what you will, it does happen. 🤷🏻‍♀️
  18. I didn't get the offer on our AMEX cards but maybe some of you did. Spend $1500 with RCI, get 25,000 AMEX points. I believe it expires 12/31/2023, but you have to grab it if you want it, since only so many people get the offer. Should be able to use it to pay on a booking, make purchases, etc. if you received the offer.
  19. Absolutely what is going on here. Even Jason alluded to that at the stockholder meetings. Like any accountant in charge, he is maximizing the profit as much as possible by increasing the prices until the bookings dry up. I work in a corporate setting and this is status quo for most bean counters at the top.
  20. “Big bold savings”. 😂 That’s big and bold, but haven’t found the ‘savings’ part yet.
  21. We also just disembarked the Beyond. Cabin 10220, no musty smell. Didn’t notice one around the ship in the places we frequented.
  22. @brillohead, we did the same thing years ago, with the gift giving. It had gotten way out of hand with adults as our family grew. Took us a few years to convince everyone we really meant it, but I’ve had some tell me they wished they had the courage to do the same with their adult family. There are several older relatives we get gifts for, but it is so nice not to have to fight the crowds in malls anymore for so many people. And like you said, kiddo gifts are fun! 🙂 Phooey on the family for not even considering your idea.
  23. Aww, don’t worry about taking up people’s time. When I went in to mine, I can select the JPEG Max under ProRAW, but when that is the setting, that is a raw version of JPEG. I couldn’t post then either. But, when I toggled ProRAW off entirely, it changes it to JPEG, and I can post. 🙂
  24. Greg, you are AMAZING! Helen, this does correct it. When I upgraded to iPhone 15 PM, the phone was set for ProRaw, which I don’t use for photos when I’m just posting online. Go to Settings on your phone, then Camera, then Formats, scroll down to ProRAW & Resolution Control. Toggle off. Take that photo again, this time the new photo will upload. You can’t “reassign” a setting to an existing photo, but your new pics should upload now. 🙂
