  1. A break sounds like it is in order for you. I'm sorry your cruise didn't live up to the first 5, but I can also tell you that a few of our cruises weren't as great as others. Not disappointments, we aren't easily disappointed, but not what we expected. Sometimes that just happens. Happens on land vacations too. πŸ™‚ Also, as others have mentioned, if you sail RCI again, you might want to try a larger ship, just for the variety of restaurants, entertainment, etc.
  2. Yes, you can stack FCCs, and they don't have to be at the time of booking. I first saw my FCC # in an email from RCI reminding me that I had an FCC and they were having a current sale. πŸ˜‚ You may want to check for emails from them where your FCC # could be listed trying to get you to use it up.
  3. My email for the 5/6/2023 sailing is completely different from the choices here. I'm on hold with them right now, because mine is a movement to Harmony OTS, in a JS. Even though we have to drive to Miami instead of Ft Lauderdale, it's a great transfer for us. We booked at a sweet price on Voyager, so not only having the price protection plus the $200 shipboard credit is a win win for us. First time our cruise was cancelled where it actually worked out for us.
  4. I don't either....but I'm hanging out here for the sheer entertainment value! 😁
  5. So did I. I'm glad some share pics, so we (meaning ladies) don't have to do a tour of the men's room to see them.
  6. It is, isn’t it? Not sure why the name was changed when the menu changed. It’s obviously a cucumber martini. We get two when we eat there. πŸ‘πŸΌ
  7. I just choked on my drink. πŸ˜‚ Thank goodness He has a great sense of humor. 😁
  8. I know you meant Symphony, but got tickled by what was probably auto-correct. 😁 I think the islands we have been to handle the Oasis class ships well. Book your tours in advance if you sail that class and you should be fine. πŸ™‚
  9. I know you didn’t ask about drinks, but the garden martini there is stellar! We too like the tenderloin, the short rib, and I ❀️ the beet salad.
  10. I'm a cheese purist. πŸ˜‚ It has to be real cheese for me, not that fake stuff. Other than that, I'm always game for a new martini, at least once.
  11. Check back in the last couple of weeks before your cruise. Earlier times opened up for us in the last couple of weeks before both of our cruises. I was able to snag an earlier time then. I kept checking the app for earlier times thru the checkin process. Otherwise, since you are local, I suggest getting a later time, after 3 pm, since according to your post, there are no lines.
  12. When it drops to the double digits I start getting enthused. Of course, I'm excited every time I log into the cruise planner. No matter how long away it is. πŸ˜‚ Just seeing them there thrills me. I'm apparently easily thrilled. 😁
  13. Glad to hear they did right by you! πŸ™‚ Have a great cruise!
  14. Flight reliability is more of an issue than flight costs for me. However, when we would jump on a quick flight to FLL from here, we won't if it's pricey. My car is much more reliable than the airlines right now.
  15. People around here love to beat a dead cat. 🀣
  16. "And when push comes to shove I will send a fully armed battalion to remind you of my love! Da da da dat da dat da da da da ya da Da da dat dat da ya da! Da da da dat da dat da da da da ya da Da da dat dat da…" We still laugh over the king and some of what he sang. He (and that crazy laugh) were awesome! 🀣
  17. I agree with you about all being memorable. But ours was also one with 30' seas. On Empress many, many years ago, a Bermuda & repositioning cruise. We had an inside cabin all the way forward (we were young and broke πŸ˜ƒ), and fortunately, the top of our bed was at the front of the ship. We laid in bed, listening to the drawers and doors slam open and shut repeatedly, and we could feel the ship climb, climb, climb, then descend, descend, descend. πŸ˜‚ We would slide a bit down the bed as we climbed, and then slide back up the bed as the ship descended. It was like riding a roller coaster. I don't know how we didn't get sick that long night, but we still laugh about that adventure to this day. Our friends, not so much. They spent 24 hours in their cabin, and never sailed with us again. 😬 There were so many people seasick on that cruise that room service was run ragged delivering sliced apples and crackers pretty constantly. Our favorites? Alaska, the Panama Canal, and the last NE cruise before Covid. We made such wonderful friends on those, and AK is amazing!
  18. Agree wholeheartedly. If I’m going to spend a week or more on a vacation, I want it to be a place I enjoy going to, or spending time in. I’m an introvert at heart, and need quiet time. And then there is my hubby, who pouts if it is lower category than a JS. πŸ˜‚ For him, the lowest category is a balcony, and that is only grudgingly acceptable. Spoiled brat. πŸ˜‰
  19. We sail suites on Oasis and Quantum class when we find a great bargain, balcony on older, smaller ships. We DO spend time in our cabin, so a balcony is a necessity for us. We don’t stay at the beach without an ocean view either. We also bought our home because it has an amazing mountain view. Everyone is different though. If this isn’t a priority for you, then go for those inside cabins and more cruising! πŸ™‚ You do what works for you.
  20. The play (which I enjoyed, and have the soundtrack to) also got me to search out biographies of Hamilton. πŸ™‚ Because, like you, I get that all stage and screen portrayals sensationalize. I wanted to learn more truth about his life.
  21. Other than to stir the pot and rabble-rouse, was there a point to this thread? Let me pull out my magic-8 ball, and ask. Magic 8 ball, is the OP going to have a crappy cruise because he already has decided to? I suggest canceling and saving your great in-laws the money.
  22. Thanks for the info on how well they work. We will be ordering some for our luggage before we cruise this December. πŸ™‚
  23. We enjoy eating at least once a cruise at the Solarium Bistro. Before Covid, you got your apps, salad, dessert from the β€˜buffet’, and your main course was ordered from a menu and served. We prefer it for breakfast over the crowded Windjammer.
