  1. The wait list may already be full. Keep checking back. I have also called Regent. A time or two that worked and I got on a wait list. But if the tour hasn’t cleared by sailing time check with destinations. Some clear as soon as the ship sails and if not check in the theater the day of at the time of the tour.
  2. A good wrist monitor can be very c very actuate. Best to talk to your Dr. We check mine and my DH s against the Drs reading at every check up. It has been right on.
  3. We were in the Splendor and the.Navigator during the Christmas and New Years holiday. There was really not much difference in the after six dress than what we have seen on all the other cruises we have done in Regent. The ship of course was decorated which gave things a festive feel. Just follow the dress code with what you like to wear and you will fit right in. My husband never takes a jacket any more and he was no more dressed up than 50 - 60% of the men. I wore silk tops and slacks on Christmas and New Years Eve and fit right in.
  4. We went around the world with Terry Bishop a few years ago. He is a great speaker/entertainer enjoy!
  5. We have used both services which ever the ship was using for years. We have had no issues with either and our bags have always made it safely to the ship and home except once! We had to travel to customs clearing center at the port of entry because I had unknowing packed something that wasn’t allowed. That was some years ago, since then I read the instructions for dos and don’t every carefully. And follow them!!! Basically I pack clothes and books only. We carry one carry one each that we check for the various liquid stuff even for longer Grand and WCs one bag each is plenty.YMMV
  6. Thank you both. That information is very helpful for my planning. I will include it in my trip file. We enjoy touring with the HOHO buses. Usually a good way to see the sites without a lot of walking. Glad to know it is not a long hike down a hot pier to the buses. The Caribbean just about did us in😀.
  7. The Splendor is almost exactly like the Explorer. We were in a G aft in Dec and there was a Us&Eu plugs on the nightstand. The stand was small but big enough for your machine I would think.
  8. boblern - Thank you so much for your wonderful report and great pictures. I know it is time consuming. We will be doing the ‘25 Grand Arctic and have an overnight in Reykjavik and are thinking about get a hotel. We have been at the port for a long day, rented a car and did the golden circle which was beautiful. After your comments the Grand Arctic is out. How far is the walk from the gangway to the buses and/taxis. It has been more than ten years since we were there and our walking ability isn’t what is use to be.
  9. What ship? The bedside plug is different on different ships. The night stand on Navigator, Mariner and Splendor would hold it, but it will probably fill the whole table. Sone ships only have EU style plugs bedside.
  10. Here in Texas we would gladly take some of that rain!! Hope all our Florida friends are safe.
  11. Don’t be. We have traveled for months all over the world for years and speak only English. Madrid is a major city. Get a translator app for your phone and or get the hotel Bell Captain to get the taxi and tell them where you need to go. Carry the hotel card to show the Driver when you are ready to come back to hotel. Easy!!
  12. Same internet in all grades through out ship. Upgrade has been about $10 a day. My DH used to work at times on the ship. Sometimes regular internet was OK sometimes not. He paid for the up grade but it didn’t help much. All depended if it was a time when a lot of people were using the internet/ time of day and location of the ship. It is not like being at home. The new ship is scheduled to have Starlink which is supposed to be an upgrade. Only time will tell.
  13. The free tasting is by the glass. There is no free tasting for fee wines and you buy them by the bottle.
  14. The free wine tasting is sampling by the glass, wines that are free/include and are served at meals. The for a few wines are served by the bottle (you have to buy a whole bottle). The restaurant staff will save the bottle for you to enjoy at another meal or you can have it deliecered to you suite.
  15. We agree. The Mariner is the best all around ship in the fleet for comfort especially in the public areas. We find the regular suites very comfortable even if the smallest of all the ships except G&H’s on the newest ships and the G aft on the Splendor was very good, but the Splendor as a whole is to big, it has lost that special feel and is more impersonal with all the shinnyness…JMO. Have not sailed on the Voyager, but the Navigator is wonderful….service and food great And her small size is perfect. The Mariner has great longer itineraries which we love.
  16. I did and it is in my record. But I always check in with dinning room also. Your TA can contact Regent with your information.
  17. I was told on the Splendor in Dec that they could not provide food safe for my allergy anywhere except from the CR kitchen where they had the means to could cook my food separately and prevent cross contamination. It was not a problem on the Navigator later. We did not enjoy our first time on the Splendor for a number of reasons and this was just one. Precovid on the Mariner and Navigator and later this year on the Navigator, I have had the service you describe. It may just be s failing of the heavier passenger load of the newer ships that there was less personal service.
  18. No not unless it is something included in the tour. The Caye is just like any port as far as food, drink and tours are concerned. Free drinks are on the ship.
  19. You are right about the excursions (are as described) and .food on the island. Food venues on the island are cash or CC only, you can’t charge food to your ship account. You can always walk back to the ship and eat for free. Food offered on the tour is included in the tour be it a free one or for fee. We had run punch on our free tour as we watched for manatees.
  20. I have a food allergy and they give me the menus day ahead and work with me on every ship. But you will probably need to eat in the main dinning room.. Compass Rose not the buffet as there are different kitchens.
  21. Mon morning is not the best time to call….everyone has saved up their problems over the weekend and are calling. Let your TA handle the cancelation for you. Could be that the computers are running a little behind and the it will show up late in your file and email.
  22. Based on our 3 Dec,Jan cruises out of Miami and the only ship at the pier, you will be off the ship 9 - 9:30.Times are assigned base in a form you will fill out several days before as to your needs for transportation, flight time etc. if you can carry everything with you, you can pick the first time, usually around 8ish or a little before. We always go to breakfast in the CR with our hand pieces and then leave after we finish. We drive to the port so are one of the last off by choice.
  23. Yes there are stops with benches on the island walkways. The carts make a circle starting from the ship and back to the ship. It is a long way from the ship’s gangway to the island entrance as you see in my picture in post #3 second picture. The ship docked there at the end of the pier.
  24. Safe covered parking is right by the terminal and is for J only. We plan to drive ourself next year and park there.
