  1. There will be no formal night on Regent cruises. There will be formal optional nights (1 or 2 ) on cruises of more than 15 days. On formal optional nights most men still dress casual… slacks a nice shirt maybes sports coat. Regent is nice casual dress always acceptable after 6but you can dress more if you like. The majority do not. Search some of the dress code threads, there are plenty.
  2. I am with you Wendy and am a little older. The boat is the biggest problem, especially a boat with the back platform. They are slippery and don’t usually have enough steps and grab bars down into the water. If we can’t touch the bottom I can’t boost myself to the bottom rung on the ladder. We do use snorkel vest so we can just relax. My favorite snorkeling has been off cats that have the steps in front that lower and go down into the water a ways..easy and safe to enter and exit.
  3. Check for any that offer airport pickups and maybe even port drop offs. That would be a nice deal.
  4. Ratan - free Dolphin Experience. Small groups 2-4 people with a trainer and dolphin, ours had a baby in protected but open water. Beautiful resort. Grand Cayman - swim with stinger rays, open beautiful clear water, about 5 feet deep lots of rays all sizes.
  5. We sailed out of Miami in Dec. Regent hotel rates are horrible! You can get two nights for less than you will pay Regent for one. Taxis are cheap (husband will not Uber) about $15-20 from downtown hotels. Check out one of the hotel booking sites. Get one that offers airport transfers and get a taxi to the port. The terminal Regent uses is super simple to handle. Book hotel now for best rates (on booking site no deposit needed and can cancel anytime no charge)) and look for something close to the piers in the tourist area so you can explore on foot.
  6. Thanks for the report. Did you do a tour in Corner Brook?
  7. Thanks I will check, had not thought about the roll call. Hope she does post some on the Board also. There are some wonderful ports on the itinerary.
  8. I will be sure to follow along in ‘24 if you post. We had already signed up for the Nov ‘24 Amazon and I couldn’t figure out a way home from Europe except flying and we don’t do long hauls anymore. The Amazon is hot, but we have done it before and enjoyed the tours but we plan to watch the world go by from the cook of Horizon Lounge. DH loves the river scenes. The ride home on the Grandeur in ‘25 is perfect. Love the chance to visit Europe again. Guess you have been melting from our Texas heat also. We are just down the road.
  9. I was hoping some one would respond. We am also eager to hear about the itinerary/trip. After our month long Caribbean cruises over the Christmas Holidays, a couple of WCs and the 100 degree weather we have had for the last two weeks, we have decided hot weather cruises are no longer good for us. Since the new 25/26 cruise catalog had a nice itinerary ‘25 Grand Arctic cruise on the Mariner out of NY which connects nicely with a TA on the Grandeur from Barcelona to Miami, we canceled our ‘25 and ‘26 WCs in favor of these two. Also it will be a nice way to celebrate our 60 anniversary! We love the Mariner and want to give the new class ships one more chance to wow us! This years trip should be a lot smoother, more to Regents standard than last years. So anyone aboard, we would love to hear about the trip.
  10. The tours can be booked a year out. Dinning I think is 90 or 75. The dates should be listed in manage my bookings.
  11. We will make it to Titanium on the cruise next year, but there is still stuff that I have questions on. We changed suites for the first time in Dec. I would do it again for a cruise I really wanted. Enjoy your cruise!!
  12. You have to enter the new cruises yourself under the booked cruises . Just did ours a couple of days ago. All the dates for booking stuff will show up once you have the cruise entered. Try again. Be sure to use booking # and not id#
  13. You are worrying way too much. Talk to the room stewards/housekeeping before moving day. Tell them what time they can start and need to be finished. Nothing will happen until people start leaving the ship and can clean the new room but it goes fast after that. You do not need to hang around. Leave your valuables with front desk if you are not going to be around to put them in the new safe before you get off the ship We did this on the Splendor at Christmas. I left the closet alone and they moved that totally… got everything right back where it was. We keep our luggage under the bed so I tossed the bathroom stuff in the carryon, all other things -computer, iPad, books, stuff out in the room in another suitcase and locked it. Did that mostly before breakfast that morning…. I wasn’t really packing it… the baggage handlers weren’t going to get their hands on it so I wasn’t too careful. I think there were only 4 small drawers in our suite outside the closet and I left the stuff in there to move, called housekeeping told we were ready and left. Came back later all was put away and the two cases I threw stuff in were on the bed. Took about 10 mins to put that away. So easy!
  14. I don’t remember any age limit on trips this Dec in Caribbean. You only had to be able to handle being in deeper water and the boat ladders used to get in and out of the water. Some trips are better than others as far as what there is to see. We were divers in another life and still snorkel if the water entrance is doable.
  15. There is the Galley Brunch in the older ships (at least pre Covid). That is my favorite. It is held in longer cruises segments on a sea day, not necessarily on Sun. This one is on theNavigator on a Sat. At these brunches served in the Galley, the food is hot or cold served at the cooking station and is cut or fixed as you watch or set out in small amounts so it doesn’t dry out. I found the Sun Brunch on the Splendor this Dec not nearly as nice, long lines at some stations and food preplated getting cold or drying out or not replenished in a timely manor. To us it was a glorified trip to the buffet up stairs. JMO
  16. Regent has given us unused refundable OBC given by the TA by way of a refund to our credit card or cash refund our choice. They ask near the end of the cruise.
  17. Yep as I remember as long as your are in what they consider their waters. It is really not hard to not buy ship stuff for a few days. Just do it before or after when not in their water.
  18. This is the obvious thing to do if there is something not up to standard in your suite. But be careful some don’t like that answer, it doesn’t fit their narrative.
  19. Agree it’s these side trips. SR for Angkor Wat is very easy to arrange on your own. It is a short direct flight from Bangkok with several flights a day A private car and driver are easy to find… Check the port section of CC and Trip Advisor. A night or two depending on flight times would be enough time for the highlights. If Regent is offering an overland trip to the Tag is worth it also. That part of India is worth seeing!
  20. It has been a while. We were actually on the 73 day Circle SAmerica with a few days in Antarctica. In ‘24 we are doing the round trip Miami like your cruise. I did a daily blog for the first trip, We are doing some house repairs, I will look for it and send it to you.
  21. I would not hesitate to do the Amazon on the Mariner. It is the best ship in the fleet to do that itinerary. We have done the Amazon on the Mariner some years ago and will be doing g it again on the Mariner Nov ‘24. You will receive excellant service and great food. It is a wonderful cruise so different. The Mariner does not have all the glitz that the 2 soon to be 3 newer ships do, but she has the best public spaces of all the ships including an aft and forward lounges with space to get out side and that is vital for the Amazon, Alaska and Canal cruise. It is like of luck of the draw about suite condition at this point. After 5 or 6 years she is due a redo soon. They were replacing carpet in one suite on the Navigator in Jan. They did some regluing in our suite- baseboard pieces had come undone. The curtains and bed linens looked new the sofa and chair were clean. The bath was spotless. The Splendor bath, sofa and carpet were not in Dec. I had them reclean the bath. They will try to please you if at all possible. So don’t stew, point out anything that really needs attention so they can at least try to fix it for you. Have a great cruise.
  22. Did you ask for the siding door to be cleaned or are you just complaining? Some Stewards are not as detail oriented as others and need a little push. Did you ask for the carpet to be regued. It has been five years of abnormal conditions for cruise ships….. things are not as good as they were when the ships are in constant service. If you had broken furniture in your penthouse and didn’t request a replacement when you boarded you were in reality just passing the buck. Seawater gets in the slider when there are open and not everyone is careful about keeping the door closed. This is a picture of the carpet round a door opening…..” that is what.” We were on the Splendor in Dec the newest ship and there was damage staining on the carpet around the slider from the saltwater. There was also a stain( from cleaning up something) on the sofa and the carpet in front of the sofa. Life at sea is hard on ships.I agree the Mariner and the Navigator are due for a refresh. But We we’re on the Navigator in Jan, the public rooms were good condition, some suites had more abuse an others. If you are assigned one like that you need to bring to the attention of housekeeping and maintenance. That will not stop us from sailing on our two most favorite ships… worth every penny compared to that we get on other lines for about the same money.
  23. Check the Regent site under dress code. It is very detailed. No need for formal wear really. As for Alaska… in Sept it is usually cool to cold ( based on Med temp ) and it will be wet ( drizzle to full blown rain a lot of the time. Layers and rain gear. Ship should be comfortable though.
  24. Reasons behind the need for the cruise change is really none of our business and should not be part of the discussion. All the OP ask of CC is for suggestions for ways to made the zoom call and cruise to work.
