  1. I've heard on other threads we need to try a dirty banana 🙂 so that is going to be my first drink when I board the Discovery next month.
  2. I’m really hoping to get an invite next month when we sail for our 35th anniversary. I plan to “beg” if necessary when I get onboard 😂
  3. After I picked a checkin time it showed up. Now when I open the app it’s the first thing I see.
  4. Food in the International Cafe is free but the coffee is not unless you have Princess Plus or Princess Premier package. Self serve laundry has a cost. My understanding is the only time you don't have to pay for laundry is during the ships inaugural year (currently people are reporting having free laundry on the Discovery.)
  5. I am by no means a high roller and have only been on one Princess cruise back in 2016, but I still can book under the casino rates that seem to be the same rates that others post on here. Getting ready to take my 2nd Princess cruise on the Discovery next month where I was able to get a mini-suite for $599 cruise fare using casino rate.
  6. Ahhhh I should have read the WHOLE sentence....I got as far as non refundable and then stopped. That does explain what I saw as far as OBC once I clicked on the View applied promos link. Thanks for clarifying that for me.
  7. So I had to login to see that price. I decided to do a mock booking just to see what the final price would be. I knew I would have to pay the port and tax fees, but what is the Comp Cabin Deposit? I understand deposits, but this one is different and one I've never seen before.
  8. Works for me and very much appreciated! Thanks so much.
  9. @deultgen, @titanguru, and @disneyochem I was wondering if any of you had copies of the patters? If so, could you please post? Just curious to see what I have to look forward to next month 🙂. Thank you all for posting your experience on the ship--it's nice to hear different perspectives.
  10. My CVP assured me that I could use the Excursion Credit as regular OBC for my cruise next month. As a matter of fact, when I look at my travel summary it’s showing as OBC and does not say excursion credit—says onboard credit promotion.
  11. @8 Westies Mom I did a Hawaii cruise back in 2015. I found it very easy to rent a car and do my own tour. Car rental (at the time) was pretty cheap through Discount Hawaii Car Rental. They have a great policy where you don’t pay for the rental until you pick it up so if your ship misses a port, you wouldn’t be charged. I did a lot of research and made a plan for each port (and and a backup plan because “stuff” happens.) I highly recommend you skip Waikiki/Honolulu and drive to other areas on Oahu (we had a nice easy hike to Moana Falls).
  12. I was on Celebrity in October and saw many women in stretch pants. I can't imagine this being a problem and plan to wear them on my Princess cruise in March.
  13. https://eatsleepcruise.com/discovery-princess-bar-guide-with-menus/ this site has a link to the various bar menus.
  14. So true. I hope one day to be offered a free cabin.
  15. I am only gold level and tend to play more table games than slots, but I am by no means a high roller lol. I play the lower tables ($10 usually) but do tend to sit for a couple hours each night. My preferred game is Ultimate Texas Holdem but will sometimes play blackjack or 3 card poker. I got an offer a few months ago and was able to snag a mini suite on the Discovery for $599 pp (before taxes or perks.) Not sure I did anything special to be sent offers.
  16. Thank you so much. This is very helpful 🙂
  17. @JeffT237 Is the red circle where the tender dropped you off?
  18. Can someone tell me where the Princess tender at Santa Barbara drops you off? I'm looking at Google Maps and it looks like it could be near Stearns Wharf/Pier Santa Barbara, Santa Barbara Landing, or Point Castillo......maybe none of these lol. Just trying to get an idea of what I might do for the day there and where I'll be able to walk to. TIA.
  19. My issue with this argument is the ships were sailing at 25%-50% capacity at this time so not really a fair assessment. I agree with the others that talk about Celebrity Cruises—every Celebrity ship I’ve been on, the casino is very crowded each evening and often times I can’t find a table with an open seat.
