  1. At least you won't be tested at the airport itself, as was the case earlier this year !
  2. Smart casual on normal nights, minimum of jacket and tie on formal nights (two per seven nights except for the two mega ships) in the MDRs and certain bars. No shorts after 6pm in public areas, unless in the Caribbean. Virtually 100% Brits on board, and dress code followed by, I guess 90% of pax. The Brits like to dress up, so lots of DJs & Kilts in evidence.
  3. Yorkshire men are widely known to have very short arms, and very deep pockets.
  4. Yup, the personalised ones printed up for stag and hen nights, for example.
  5. Is there anyone within P&O management who actually realises what a complete dog's dinner they are making of the entire medical questionnaire issue ? You cannot be the only P&O employee that realises it is a shambles !
  6. Just had an email from my well known TA. 40 day US and Caribbean cruise, leaving this November, on Arcadia, select balcony fare starting at £4213, with £560 pp obc. I wonder how that compares to launch price?
  7. Yes, in a nutshell. Two days, so anytime Thursday or Friday.
  8. But coughing is a symptom of a multitude of other ailments as well. To deny boarding to some one who is coughing because of a non contagious bronchial issue, say, purely because of a similar symptom is downright wrong.
  9. Indeed. Never have in the past. I wonder if they are not accepting reservations beyond 7:30 because it is realised that they will not be needed later in the evening. If so, it is a departure from the previous reservation system.
  10. We are in a similar position - just three booked for next year (P&O, Princess) We will wait until we see how those go before committing further. (But if Princess do their £1 deposit promotion again, who knows !)
  11. Absolutely. P&O for example, ban personalised tee shirts.
  12. Without starting a tipping thread, yes, no need to carry cash around. And even if you did not have PP, an 18% service charge is added to the drink prices, so even then you would not need cash.
  13. Thank you. Found it. Problem now is that no reservations are available for any time later than 19:30, which is much too early for us. I cannot believe that every table on the ship (Sky) is reserved after that time. And only tables for two are available, and we like to share. Hey Ho. We've booked for 19:30 every night, on the off chance that we might be ready to eat that early on occasion, but otherwise we will turn up an hour or so later and take our chances.
  14. But for those of us who do, the package is worth every cent.
  15. The distance to LHR from Southampton is around 66 miles. I really don't think that your driver averaged almost 90 mph ! Taking into account the 30 mph limits around Southampton and LHR, he would need to be doing well over 100 mph on the motorway section of the journey. However, early Sunday morning is undoubtedly the best time in the week for a speedy trip to LHR, but I would say that 75 minutes is more realistic. During the week, all bets are off !
  16. I've got the new look app. It even got my name right. But can I find the dining options ? Can I heck ! Where has the little dining emoji gone to?
  17. Compared to previous brochure launches, this time round there appears to be a distinct lack of enthusiasm. The crass P&O attitude to Covid and FCC, the crass attitude of P&O to late price reductions, and the crass attitude of P&O to on board service, speciality restaurant closures etc, seems to be having an impact. Coupled with the fact that we can all guess now what the itineraries will be, no wonder people are showing a high level of disinterest.
  18. We always carry a glass of wine into dinner with us, so as to avoid unforseen dryness!
  19. Or going around in circles at 8 knots in the Caribbean or when going from Fuerteventura to Lanzarote.
  20. Not disagreeing with you, but leaving 25 minutes early is hardly going to make a significant difference to the fuel burn.
  21. Such a solution has been proposed many times on all those lines that have formal nights. Just totally impractical, because there is no way of knowing in advance how many people will be attending each venue. And on P&O, the queue for the formal MDR would be enormous!
