  1. Not a problem in the UK. It just seems that Princess want to alienate their European customers.
  2. Just for information purposes, how do the prices compare?
  3. Personally I just like to have an all in price, which will not alter.
  4. The crew on the cruises I have been on, were wearing the high quality KN95 (or similar) masks, so pretty effective. Personally, I always felt that requiring crew to wear masks when cleaning empty cabins, or serving drinks on outside decks was unnecessary. However, if I was a crew member working in an environment that entailed face to face interaction (customer services, bar staff with customers sitting at the bar), I think I would be inclined to carry on wearing them.
  5. I thought that might be the case. Just seems a bit pointless, as everyone must know that all the extra costs have to be factored in.
  6. When we book cruises in the UK, the fares quoted are inclusive of all taxes, port charges etc. Makes life so much easier, and it makes comparing costs for different itineraries very simple. Any reason why the same pricing policy is not used in the US ?
  7. Normally you can find the same trips, at a cheaper price, by booking independently. Try the Ports of Call forum on this site for recommendations.
  8. For Princess, possibly, but not on another Carnival line, P&O (UK). You and your companions will not be able to cruise, and you gave to make a claim against your insurance company, who will nit pay out for your companions. You would think that CCL would have a single corporate policy on this issue, but that is not the case.
  9. The drinks you listed would have cost well in excess of $60 pppd I would say that you more than broke even !😃
  10. Princess tours are really expensive. We joined the roll call for our cruise, and joined the tours that had been arranged there.
  11. There have been lots of other "live from " reports on this itinerary. So no need to wait. I was in Regal on the same cruise in May. What do you want to know ?
  12. You pay the difference , plus 18% gratuity. So a $15 drink will cost you $3.54
  13. Just to get back on track. I could never understand why stewards cleaning cabins, or waiters delivering drinks on open decks had to wear masks. Totally illogical. The attendants clearing tables in the buffet - again, why the need to wear a mask? But, if I was a crew member with a job that entailed face to face interaction - customer services, cocktail bar staff etc, then I would wear a mask. So, why not let the crew decide what they are comfortable with, rather then proselytising on here.
  14. Absolutely - I would like to put a bid in for our next cruise on Sky but can't. Sheer discrimination by Princess.
  15. That ties in with what is being reported on the Princess board.
  16. What are you trying to say ? Crew members are getting covid all the time, even with mask wearing. So, they may as well take their masks off. How will that affect their families?
  17. A consensus means agreement by the majority. For you, PP is not worthwhile, but you are in the minority, in that you only drink soft drinks. The majority of passengers drink alcohol and tea and coffee. The consensus view therefore is that the PP package is worth buying.
  18. In that case you will definitely have the opportunity to enjoy the delights of the BoB ! Having said that, we have only had one rough passage in numerous transits, but that was extreme. Force 10 winds, and literally being thrown in the air when lying in bed !
  19. Depends where your departure port is. If from Southampton, yes, definitely.
  20. An Iberian cruise does not necessarily mean a BoB transit.
  21. So the UK, quite rightly, will have no say in whatever decisions are reached !
